FACTS for Bible Study:

  • Jesus taught that the word of God was to be understood by all...
  • He pointed to the scriptures as unquestionable authority.
  • We should do the same.
  • The Bible is to be presented as the word of the infinite God.
  • The Bible "it is written" is the end of all controversy.
  • Search the scriptures for in them you have eternal life.
  • They are these that testify of me.

WHY to Bible Study
Whoever will prayerfully study the Bible desiring to know the truth, that he may obey it, will receive divine enlightenment.

HOW to Bible study
  • Let the seeker lay aside every preconceived idea.
  • Take the word in it's simplicity
  • You must first renounce every sinful practice
  • You must soften your heart and subdue it
  • Be ready to listen to what God says
  • Do not carry your creed to the Bible and read the scriptures in the light of that creed
  • If your opinion was opposed to a "Thus saith the Lord" Renounce your opinion.
  • Give heed to the word of God rather than any sayings of men.
  • The word of God is plain to all who study with a prayerful heart.
  • If any man willeth to do his will, the same shall know of his teaching John 7:17.
  • Every truly honest soul will come to the light of truth.
  • Let every dispute be settled by "It is written"
  • Search the scriptures for eternal life John 5:39.
  • God would not say SEARCH if you could not find, he is not evil.
  • And why would he say SEARCH, if it cannot be understood.
  • Why would God say READ revelation if it could not be understood?
  • Again, God is not evil, he will give you light.
  • There are no contradictions in the Bible.
  • God cannot contradict himself, it is impossible.
  • If you find a contradicting text, you have misunderstood it.
  • Every correct Bible translation will have perfect harmony of all scriptures
  • If there is one scripture that contradicts, that verse was mistranslated, get another version to check it ou or look it up in the Greek, or better, Aramaic. There will be no contradictions,
  • if out of many scriptures one verse does not harmonize, check the original...
  • When you search earnestly, God will breath his spirit into you,
  • The Bible is it's own interpreter, never ask a man to interpret any verse...
  • One portion blends with another portion into a harmonious whole.
  • Light flashes forth from some text to illuminate another text, this is the spirit.
  • The spirit and the word ALWAYS AGREE.
  • When there is disagreement between the word and a spirit or person, the spirit in that person is the wrong spirit
    • Isaiah 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if men or spirits speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
  • The voice of God to the heart of a man will not contradict the word of God, if it does, it is an evil spirit.
    • 1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

(Continued )TIPS ON HOW TO BIBLE STUDY PART 2

  • When a text is applied correctly it will harmonize with every text in the Bible on that topic.
  • If the text disagrees with other texts it is out of context,
  • So then go back and read the entire chapter to see the true context (example) the sheet Peter was let down from heaven has nothing to do with unclean meats - but Jews and Gentiles)
  • If there is an obscure text, then there is another text somewhere that will explain it.
  • The holy spirit will explain every text with sincere searching and prayer and study
  • All truth, is consistent with itself.
  • The word of God covers the period from creation to Jesus second coming
  • Through all the centuries the truth has always remained the same.
  • That which was truth then, is truth now.
  • New truths are constantly opened, the old ruths are eternal and cannot change.
  • Every new truth found only makes more significant the old truths.
  • Everything is to be shaken that can be shaken - test all your supposed doctrines, you will be surprised at what is false.
  • Lay aside all your positions on every topoc no matter how dear to your selfish heart
  • Because your believes are going to be changed.
  • All our doctrines we started with were given to us by men, until we learned to check them by Bible study. Most of them are false.
    • Acts 17:11 The Berean christians were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. They checked to see if the pastor was right. We must check all men popes, priests or pastors to see if they are right. Jesus told us to do it and he called that NOBLE.

  • Through all centuries the truth has remained the same, only false churches have come and gone. Read revelation, all seven churches are wrong somewhere.
  • It is satan's studied plan to PERVERT the scriptures and to put false constructs on verses. Just read the entire chapter, and the false context will be exposed. Usually the very next verse some leave off, say exactly the opposite of what they are trying to present.
  • God cannot lie, he moves in a direct line.
  • Lucifer can move in a crooked course, do not let this upset you, just pray and continue straight truth.
  • A long multiple verse Bible study is usually a perversion.
  • Truth is simple, needing only one or two verses to show the light.
  • satan teaches that the Bible must be taken in light of what the fathers said.
  • The truth is, the fathers muust be tested by the word of God.
  • Bible verses cannot penetrate the minds of anyone with the belief that the Bible must be interpreted according to the fathers or with help from a pastor or another person in error. This is strong delusion.
  • The Lord can save and help only those who believe the Bible is the word of the infinite God to them.
  • All articles of faith, doctrines, creeds however "sacred" must be rejected if they conflict with the word of God
  • If the Bible supports one of our old doctrines, than accept it.
  • The spirit was never given to supersede the Bible, anyone teaching this is a false prophet.
  • The scripture explicitly states that all spirits must be tested by the word of God
  • "try the spirits, according to the word of God. Test dreams, visions, by the Bible.
  • If someone has a dream or vision or the spirit tells them something against the word of God, they are in error and need to be born again.
  • The spirit of God and the word of God agree perfectly 100%. Anything else is a false spirit, and you should not be afraid to tell them so.
  • The holy spirit when moving upon a persons mind, is in perfect agreement with the Bible always.
  • The Bible must be your councelor, study it prayerfuly.
  • Ther must be earnest study and close investigation.
  • sharp clear perceptions of truth are never the reward of indolence.
  • Those who intend to find treasure must dig deep.
  • Our salvation depends on our knowledge and truth found in the scriptures.
  • False doctrines will kill you, your life depends on it.
  • Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
John 5:40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life?
    Your life depends on it.
May God grant you zeal to study and find the doctrines, there is only one truth on any doctrine, only one. Find it, Search for it with your whole heart.

That is a tremendous amount of rules to think through! I found something simple that works. I found we need the OT to understand the NT, and we lost track of what the culture was the OT was giving God principles through. God opened up a way to bridge that time gap through the dead sea scrolls. Most of our biblical scholars have taken advantage of this, so any one of them can lead classes. One is on the net at "torahclass" site for free, but paying for this help is worth it. Others teach at our colleges. Some classes in biblical archeology helps. Check the teachers carefully, be sure they aren't adding their own ideas, only telling you what God says.

Then start in with Genesis, with this instruction to help you know what God is telling you through how they thought then, read it with always keeping in mind how Christ changed it, completed it. Be sure you tie your learning in with the NT.

Then keep to scripture, do not ever at any time decide to out think the Lord as the Lord tells you how he created the earth and what He expects of you as His family. Accept what He tells you, don't add or take away from it. God is God.

This is simple. This works.

EXCELLENT Work.

I truly appreciated the factual and non-compromising content.
Did you notice anything peculiar about Peter's first meeting with Jesus,
that John records vs the other Gospels?

Keep well friend :)

No other way but the holy spirit. you would NEVER understand the truth without the holy spirit, and he guides you into all truth because it's the spirit of God that same spirit that was in Jesus is in you if you receive him so the word of God cannot contradict itself, it will know what is the truth and what isn't doesn't matter what age you are either it's the same spirit so it will have knowledge of the same word

Agree, the spirit of God is the only way to get understanding...

"Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart." Psalms 119:34

"JOD. Thy hands have made me and fashioned me: give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments." Psalms 119:73

"I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation." Psalms 119:99

"Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way." Psalms 119:104

"I am thy servant; give me understanding, that I may know thy testimonies." Psalms 119:125

"The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple." Psalms 119:130

"The righteousness of thy testimonies is everlasting: give me understanding, and I shall live." Psalms 119:144

"TAU. Let my cry come near before thee, O LORD: give me understanding according to thy word." Psalms 119:169

2Ti2:15-16 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babbling; for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

God's truth won't be found in a secret keeping cult!
No mistake that is why I can stand 'alone'

Same to you...:)

There are things that I wll NEVER tell unless the person is at my Spiritual level.

It hurts them.... :)
The truth of God's Word is available to all. It is those who teach contrary to the Scriptures that hurt the spiritual growth of others, not those who share the truth of God's word!
2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
2Ti 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
Isn't it time you become part of the solution instead of part of the problem?

Indeed we live in perilous times as many are trying to teach we should ignore the words of Christ concerning baptism!

WE need to be baptised in christ by water and the spirit.
Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
If you truly want people to see a study on baptism, then why did you leave out Mat 28:19? Shouldn't the instructions Christ gave concerning baptism also be included in a study on baptism? Please tell us why you left this verse out? Is it because you believe it is a hoax?

John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
John 5:40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life?
Your life depends on it.
May God grant you zeal to study and find the doctrines, there is only one truth on any doctrine, only one. Find it, Search for it with your whole heart.
1. Point of clarifications, where does our life (eternal life) depend on, is it in the scriptures or is it in the Lord Jesus Christ who is the "me" in verse 40 above?

2. What does the Lord mean with His "search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life" in verse 39 above?
