So on my walk today I was talking to God about him teaching me to grow in faith. I said to him I cannot wait to see what you will teach me next, or what you will show and reveal to me or what will change in me. I love his directions, I love it when he teaches me new things or deepens the things I already know. I even love his discipline because even then I come before him with a humble heart and learn from it.
So I wondered just now How can I grow even more in faith? How can my love and his love grow stronger? we all know the main ways, to pray constantly, to read the word, to listen and obey and such. But I found little ways to grow as well, for one as I mentioned to a dear friend just now throwing ourselves into heated debates. Shocking huh? Well this is why, because we should see just how long we can debate in love without losing our cool, how many battle scars or emotional scars can we handle before we crack and will we leave the thread before we lose it? I notice that each time I do this I grow just a tad bit stronger, I have more stamina in love to debate with. True I wish we never had to have fiery debates like this but hey we might as well use what is given to us right?

I need to ask, how did he teach you exactly? You said you was taking to him, was it a 2
Way conversation?

Often times yes it is both ways, but as to how he teaches me it is a constant thing. you see no one taught me how to be a Christian or what to really believe because I went to God for all this. Constantly seeking him and desiring him every day has made it so he can implant things on my heart, as I say to him often let me desire what you desire, seek what you seek and for your will to be my own. And he indeed answered.

So is it a voice in your head? Or
A voice in your ear?

How do you verify if it is indeed
God?

Genuinely interested

For me, it is not a direct voice in my head, he speaks to me in different ways. For example, if you read this http://christianchat.com/testimonies/74813-homeless-man-testimony-selfish-christian.html this is how he spoke to me the other day. Sometimes if I pray, he can answer me through putting a thought into my mind or through people, scriptures etc. But no,I don't hear voices ....

Well he does often answer me in my head but there discernment needed because sometimes we want to hear him so badly we force an answer with our own thoughts thinking it may be him. sometimes I can clearly tell when God is speaking other times I cannot separate his voice from my own. I heard him out loud once on a walk though, I threw a can of rockstar on the ground and heard him command me by saying PICK IT UP. when you hear his commanding voice like that you body moves on it's own because of the power behind his voice. I thanked him for blessing me with his voice like that.

LOL I promise I am not crazy, it's just that he and I have gotten so used to chatting with each other I have come to know his voice and when he is speaking to me. Although I do realize I sound crazy

I completely understand brother, there has been times I have talked to people while they were going through so much, and I didn't know what to say, but then the Spirit of the Lord spoke to me of words that actually strengthened them. Problem was they thought it was me and drew near me more than Him. Kinda upsets me that some of those people are still searching for Him sigh....I hope it wasn't in vain.

However he speaks to me in more than just his voice, I have found he sometimes speaks to me through myself, I will say something and somehow know it was him speaking as well. I have heard him on more than one time occasion speak to me in music and then my favorite is what I call prophetic daydreams. I often have daydreams about him and about me or what a friend of mine says divine thinking. I have had so many of them and all were so amazing and helped me in my faith and one day will come true

I know the voice of God because it is the One that called me many years ago and has never led me down the wrong path.

"To him the gatekeeper opens. The sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. [SUP]4 [/SUP]When he has brought out all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. [SUP]5 [/SUP]A stranger they will not follow, but they will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.” John 10:3-5.

I know that voice. And it is not a literal voice, more of a feeling in my Spirit, and knowing it is from God. Because that inner voice always corresponds to Scripture, and it has never been wrong.

Blain you 'liked' Angela's post but she mentioned comparing what she hears to Scripture...you never mentioned Scripture once in your posts...why not?

I find my faith deepens with trials I go through. No matter how big or small, with each victory in Christ, through Christ, and with Christ, I obtain a humble truth that He is always with me no matter what I go through or what I put myself through. Every morning I wake up and get my son up, my faith deepens. Each prayer, prayer service, worship service, every testimony, and even through the sometime awful news articles I read (do not have tv) my faith deepens. He is in control and as rebellious as I can be, He will always be there to show me the way. Whether its the hard way or the easy way is up to me.

Scripture for what I hear? well honestly for all I hear it is usually encouragement, or answers to my questions. But as for scripture about encouragement and answering my questions I can look it up if you want

Faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God. If you desire more faith hear more of Gods word. Everything we need we have in Gods word with the Holy Spirit opening the truth contained there in.

For the cause of Christ
