The answer seems very easy isn't it... by listening to Him, that many of us would say,, true,, how many of you agree here that we can not please God without the help of God himself,, confused.. Ok, in simple words,, we can know what God wants by asking God for His favour to tell us what we should do so that we could really touch His heart.. yes most of the things are mentioned in the bible but still our everyday prayer should go like this,, LORD teach me to pray,, teach me to worship, teach me how I can come close to you.. the result will be awesome and powerful.. GOD BLESS

Ask God for more practical insight into scripture so that you can become more godly in character
(Ps.119:33,34).
Ask God for better understanding of what God has given you in Christ
(Eph.1:16-19) & how much God loves you (Eph.3:18,19) so you can mature spiritually.
Ask God for greater love for other people
(1 Thess. 3:12) &better discernment on how to love them effectively(Phil.1:9).
Ask God for opportunities to share your faith, & the courage & wisdom to make the most of those opportunities
(Col. 4:3,4; Eph. 6:19,20).
Ask for God to expose sinful attitudes that are hurting you and others and dishonoring God
(Ps.139:23,24).
Ask God for wisdom to understand what he wants to teach you through the adverse circumstances he has allowed into your life.

You don't need to make duplicates of this thread to put in other forums. The mods don't like that. Good OP, though. :)

You know we all make him happy a lot more than we realize. We are his beloved children and he loves us so deeply, you wouldn't believe how his heart leaps with joy just from, hearing from us how his face glows simply when we spend time with him. When we speak of his praise when we extend his hand to the hurting or the wounded or poor when we simply trust in him you cannot imagine how his heart sings.

I disagree with this somewhat. I think without OBEDIENCE, it is impossible to please God. :)
Faith comes by believing and obedience comes by faith and all of these are the products of Love

Love is a product of faith also..

Faith is the begining. that why we are saved by faith.. Not love or obedience.

I made God happy this morning by just sitting quietly and listening to Him - even in the silence of no words.

He is so very happy to spend time with us.

The New Testament is called the "obedience" of faith...real faith is obedience

"As a man thinks in his heart, so is he"...... "the law is not of faith" doing religious stuff to please God ...is not obedience

Amen. Hebrews 11:6 ~ And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him. :)

First, I don't really think God needs anything from us to be happy. God is not a beggar, waiting and hoping we will turn to him and obey him. Instead, he is the Lord and Master of the universe, the Creator and Saviour. God is complete in the Trinity, and his extending his love to us comes out of his character, not out of his needs.

And thank you Magenta for posting the first Bible verse since the OP. I guess this forum is back to forgetting we are here to discuss the Bible! (Not talking to the OP, that was a good post!)

"And Samuel said,“Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices,
as in obeying the voice of the Lord?
Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice,
and to listen than the fat of rams." 1 Sam. 15:22

“If you love me, you will keep my commandments." John 14:15

"Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.” John 14:15

But we are told the Lord takes pleasure in; (another word for happy?)

The prosperity of his servants - Ps. 35:27
His good pleasure to give..... Luke 12:32
In those who fear Him - Ps. 147:11
In His people - Ps. 149:4

And we know that we were created for His pleasure. That is an indication that He has emotions that we can affect it seems to me.

Awww, thank you for the honourable mention, Angela :)
Though really, Mitspa quoted that verse first ;)

And while I agree that God is not a beggar, I do think He derives great
pleasure from our turning to Him. The angels rejoice when we repent.
He is long suffering toward us in that regard.

"In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."
