I died yesterday or better still, the old ME died yesterday, but the new ME is alive forever more.

Colossians 3:3 (KJV)
For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

Galatians 2:20 (KJV)
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God who loved me, and gave himself for me.

2Corinthians 5:17 (NLT)
What this means is that those who become Christians become new persons. They are not the same anymore, for the old life is gone. A new life has begun.

Personally, the greatest thing that ever happened to me was to receive Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour. Couldn't say that then because I didn't fully understand nor appreciate what receiving Christ into my heart meant. The Church I got born again in did little to help me value what transpired as a result of this singular act. I had formally received Christ but was officially introduced into religion as unfortunately is the case with many today.

However, as I began to discover who Jesus is and what His sacrifice provided me, it changed my perception. One of which is that I am no longer who I used to be because that fellow is no longer in existence. 2Corinthians 5:16. From that moment, I quit judging myself with my past but with my new identity - Jesus Christ. For as He is, so am I in this world. 1John 4:17

Now I'm enjoying my walk with the Lord, not because He got better but because I got wiser through the study of His word. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Hebrews 13:8.

Being born again brings lots of advantages. Is there something in particular that struck or is striking you the most regarding what Jesus Christ did or is doing in your life right now? I'd love to hear about it. You can never tell who also might be encouraged by that.

I was about your age when God called me (31 years ago). Back then my local church was excellent regarding sermon quality, but today - in another city - I have only Jesus and the Bible to depend on.

Is there something in particular that struck or is striking you the most regarding what Jesus Christ did or is doing in your life right now?
What strikes me most is His patience about my shortcomings.

Wow! Thanks for sharing. That's one of the many things I find difficult to wrap my little brains around. The magnitude of His mercy is mind blowing.

Congatulations. Did you die today also?

1 Corinthians 15:31
New American Standard Bible
I affirm, brethren, by the boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.

So are you saying you put your old man on the cross with Jesus every day or something else?

Surely you do not believe Jesus needs to be crucified again and again?

The old man died once with Christ, dying daily means to crucify the flesh.

Wow,this is really good.

In 1 Peter 4 it says " he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin".

If you read it in context,it appears to mean " died in the flesh"

I actually found a translation that captured that.

In the businessman bible study I attend, the leader asked if they looked forward to death, and what would their outcome be with God.

None had ANY assurance of salvation. NONE!

I was and am appalled, but have little voice at his meetings.

I feel as if I am only there for those guys. It is frustrating seeing a confused eternal dynamic presented.

Now he is pushing for the wives to attend.

It will be the end of it if he does.

My point is,dying comes after living,in a sense.

Notice I said " in a sense"

IOW,to become born again,he just comes in and inhabits. The HS then begins conviction. Not that conviction does not accompany conversion, because it is working a work, which is why it says " until Christ be formed in you."

But like Stephen and miggido said we must die.

So many do not know what is required to mature.

in Jesus Christ, every new-day is a blessing from the 'old-day' that we used to live in...
