As to whether or not baptism has to be in the name of Jesus...

Acts 19:2-6 KJV
He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. [3] And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. [4] Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. [5] When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. [6] And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

The problem with following the letter of Matthew 28:19 (and quoting the words) instead of following the spirit of Matthew 28:19 (and using the NAME) is that the letter kills (but the spirit gives life).

You're welcome to believe and be baptized in whatever phrase you care to use. God sets before you life AND death and allows you to choose whichever you prefer. (Although he exhorts all to choose life).

Do you argue for baptizing using the formula "in Jesus name" and against using the formula in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit? Those who maintain that baptism must be done by reciting the specific words, "in Jesus name" and not "in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" as found in Matthew 28:19 and turn it into a life or death matter (like Oneness Pentecostals) typically reject the latter formula because they reject the Trinity.

The phrase, "in the name of the Lord Jesus," is not about being a specific reference to a baptismal formula but a reference to authority. To baptize "in Jesus' name" is to baptize in the authority of Jesus. Oneness Pentecostals are in error by demanding that baptism must be done by reciting the specific words "In Jesus name" (or else you won't be saved). Jesus Himself commanded: "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit." (Matthew 28:19). To baptize "in Jesus' name" (by His authority) is to say, "I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit."

Jesus is God, the Son of God and wholly God as well, although He did come to earth as one of us sent by God our Father. Holy Spirit knows it. If you don't believe Jesus is God, you are deceived and Holy Spirit is not in you.

As a side result, because they don't know how to tell what it is, or if the Spirit of Christ is in someone else, they actually don't know if it(He) is in themselves.

As God the Father is Love (1 John 4:8 & 16), and Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of Love; then the Spirit of Christ is the Spirit of Love. If we therefore love our neighbors as ourselves, the Spirit of Christ/Love is within us.

John 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
