I come into a Christian Chat room because I am looking for fellowship from fellow Christians....something you can't find in many chatrooms, where the mere mention of being a Christian provides fodder for non-Christians.

What I do have a problem with are Christians who are so dogmatic in their interpretations of scripture that there is no room for open sharing of opinions about scriptures. I especially have a problem with the ones that come in just looking to stir up trouble and you can't tell them anything and when you do try to correct them with scripture will respond with, "the Holy Spirit told me....." or "I am being persecuted for doing God's work....so therefore, I know I am on the right path". My response is really?

In my opinion, this is a person that has a closed mind and heart and when that happens, when nothing is allowed to go in...that means nothing worthwhile is allowed to get out either.

It is my understanding that this Christian website was created for all people to come and enjoy fellowship while also displaying "fruits of the Spirit". The moderators try their best to keep civility and peace within each room; however, that is not always possible. We are all human beings and have come from varied backgrounds and experiences, so let's remember where we are but especially, WHOM we represent before getting on our high horse and thinking we are better than another person.

Philippians 2:

1 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,

2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

If you aren't looking for a fight, then the Bible Discussion Forum is the wrong place for you. The 'joke' about fight club, mentioned above, isn't really much of a joke at all.

Sadly I must agree, you may even get called a "sick puppy" ( anyone can plainly see I am a kitten :)) or worse.

Watch your step. It is not about instigating, it is about making it personal and personal attacks.

Here's the thing I notice all the time. The moment anyone, not just people on this chat, become emotionally attached to an opinion they will typically dig in and defend that opinion to the end. Even if there is ample proof that maybe some of the framework of the position can be in question. Opinions become emotions. It's human nature, sometimes it's a healthy thing to say "I could be less than 100% right", or if I'm really brave I could say "I might be wrong about that....I will investigate further."

Hi Ruth, welcome to CC. I don't typically post in the Bible discussion forum, but I saw your profile photo and I made one just like that a few years ago, so you lured me in. I hope you stick around and check out the other forums.

If you're looking for fellowship with Christians who bear the fruits of the Spirit, this is the wrong place for you. Rare that I come here anymore myself.

Few here are true Christians ... you will know them by their fruit.

The bible says to have nothing to do with divisive people and works of darkness ... both of which fill these threads.

The path is narrow and few find it ... sadly "few" Christian members is not the goal of the administration, so standards are very low.

Peace and love, sister.

I once heard a preacher that people like that are even helpful for all of in the faith. Why? Cause, this way we learn to love through forgiveness, just like the LORD did at the cross. And personally, I think that they are helpful in the way that we stay sharp in the word, and also makes us realize, what we are carrying in our hearts. Can we sin an not know it. Also it will draw us closer to CHRIST, cause that's the only way we are going to understand others. Through making CHRIST the center of our world, life realty. But, that is just me I could be wrong. Maybe that's why a lot of people like to play church? I'm probably wrong, but I know that THE LORD is always right. So is best if we listened to HIM, and enjoy HIS glorious company, and the company of one another, "fellowship". GOD bless everyone.

Not only do you find false prophets here you will also find then in our Churches!

Do not worry about those people because God has already Judged them even before the World was created.

ruth, I agree with you 100%. but , sadly, there are many people on this site that would take that statement, and twist it, then tear it to pieces .
that is very sad, but true. I wish it was not that way, but it is. ruth, God bless you and yours!!

Hello Ruth,

The BDF is a great reading and learning experience !

You don't have to participate if you don't want to.

Just eat the meat and spit out the bones.

I was going to say "welcome" Ruth, but I see you're from CANADA!!!! The bible says there are no true Christians in Canada.. I forget the exact chapter and verse.... but it SAYS it.... ;)

Seriously, sister.... WELCOME! Some of our best folks are Canadians.... at least according to their little "flags".... I want them to let me put a Texas flag on mine, but I haven't figured out how to do that, yet....

The BDF is a pretty opinionated place... believe me, I've run into the "wall of resistance" myself on several occasions.

I have also LEARNED a lot here, and the, um... VIBRANT discussions have helped me look at things from different perspectives on many occasions.

Just don't be too thin-skinned, and learn to ignore the brow-beaters. There are many good folks here... I hope that most people think I'm one of them. If not? Que-Sarah-Sarah (to quote Bruce Willis)
