I agree patience was certainly needed and only 24 years, a short time in the
grand scheme of things, but there again for a 99 year old it might as well have been never.
Although Abraham wasn’t as patient and trusting as he could have been. He did try to force
the blessings through by having a son with Hagar.
As you say, we want it straight away. I wonder though, if any of us had been in that position,
if we would have held onto the promised blessings for so long.

If we see God as able to make anything happen then yeah it would not be hard to keep believing.. Even though other human beings would look at us in a strange way and turn around and roll their eyes and walk away laughing at us...
If our confidence in the promises of God varies depending on our sense of worthiness for the thing that has been promised, then our confidence can be up and down like the tide.. One day we think we have been a good person and our confidence is up and the next day we fall down a few times and we feel God will not give us anything so our confidence falls through the floor.. But again if the Promise is Gods promise to us then our confidence must be placed on our confidence in God and his character.. Not in our own faulty character..
