Often inside and outside of churches I have heard many people speak to new believers and say to them something to the effect of: "Congratulation my new brother/sister you are a Christian and you are forgiven, but that doesn't mean you're perfect, you will fail. But when you do just turn to Christ and ask for forgiveness."

In my early walk with Christ I found this to be a conversation that I thought all new believers should have. I thought that they should understand that they will mess up. After all they are only human.

That was until the LORD revealed to me the truth of the situation.
Now, after posting this I understand that I will get much backlash on the topic and people who will disagree.
And for those people I do not apologize. However, I ask that you seek out GOD for the truth.

I pose to you: Is it possible for a believer who has accepted Yeshua Messiah (Christ Jesus) into their hearts from the moment of conversion to life their life without sinning?

Now I know immediately there are those who have already jumped upon the "No" train.
But I urge you to listen my brethren. Open your ears and your hearts to the truth.

Here is a story:

A young boy walked up to his father who was resting on the couch after a long day of work and the boy asks his father:

Boy: Dad, is it possible to live without sinning?

Dad: No, son. If that were possible we wouldn't have needed a savior.

Boy: Well, Dad. If it isn't possible to live a life without sinning, is it possible to live a week without sinning?

Dad: A week? No, that is much to long of a time. No one could live an entire week without sinning.

Son: Okay, Dad. But, how about a day could a person go an entire day without sinning?

Dad: Maybe, son. But I don't think it could be possible, son.

Son: Well, how about a minute, Dad? Could a person live a single minute without sinning?

Dad: Well yeah, son. I think anyone could live a single minute without sinning.

Son: So, why don't we all just live our lives minute by minute?

Do you see? Would you say that you could live a single minute without sinning?
I bet so. I believe ever believer who has within them the Holy Spirit could live a single minute without sinning.
But if just a minute, why not 5, 15, 30minutes or even an hour?

I think we as believers have somehow given sin more power than it could ever have.
For this reason let's define sin for what it is. I have found that "Christians" have very little understanding of what sin is.
Sin is not some outside force that causes us to do wrong. Sin is more than just a label of certain material, objects, or behavior.

Romans 14:23
"But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith;
for whatever is not from faith is sin."

Here Paul has defined "sin" in the very simplest of terms.
Sin: for whatever is not done in faith to GOD is sin.

So allow me to ask you: How are we supposed to live our lives?

Are we not called to live our lives as living sacrifices to GOD? (Romans 12:1)
Are we not called to pick up our cross and walk with Christ who was without sin? ( Matt. 16:24 )
Are we not called and commanded to die to our self daily? (Luke 9:23; Romans 6:8)

Q: "So, what is the point of Jesus if we can live without sin?"

A: Without GOD, without Jesus it is impossible to live without sin. But with Jesus and the Holy Spirit to guide you it is 150% possible to live your life without sinning.

The majority of us here at CC agree that Jesus was 100% man as well as 100% God.
To those who don't I urge you to repent.

Jesus' life was proof that man + GOD can live a perfect life.
Jesus was as much human as I am and as you are.
The only difference between Jesus and us is that Jesus, from birth unto death, walk continuously with and in His Father's will.

After accepting Christ we are called what according to 1 Peter 1:23?

We are born-again.
Not of flesh but of spirit.

I proclaim loudly, that a Christian is called to live their life perfectly and holy and righteously.

"That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit." - John 3:6

After receiving Christ we are commanded to "Go and sin NO MORE."- John 8:11

Still not convinced that we as Christians can live a life without sinning?

Here are more verses:

Matthew 7:17-18
"Even so every good tree brings forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit."

2 Corinthians 6:14
"For what fellowship does righteousness have with unrighteousness? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?"

Psalm 119:3
"they do no wrong but follow his ways."

John 1:13
"children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God."

John 3:3
"Jesus replied, 'Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.'"

1 Peter 1:23
"For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God."

1 John 2:29
"If you know that he is righteous, you know that everyone who does what is right has been born of him."

1 John 3:6
"No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him."

1 John 5:4
"for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith."

1 John 5:18
"We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the One who was born of God keeps them safe, and the evil one cannot harm them."

3 John 1:11
"Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. Anyone who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God."

Leviticus 11:44
"I am the LORD your God; consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am holy. Do not make yourselves unclean by any creature that moves along the ground."

Leviticus 11:45
"I am the LORD, who brought you up out of Egypt to be your God; therefore be holy, because I am holy."

Leviticus 19:2
"Speak to the entire assembly of Israel and say to them: 'Be holy because I, the LORD your God, am holy."

Leviticus 20:7
"'Consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am the LORD your God.'"

Isaiah 35:8
"And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness; it will be for those who walk on that Way. The unclean will not journey on it; wicked fools will not go about on it."

1 Peter 1:15-16
"but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; because it is written, "YOU SHALL BE HOLY, FOR I AM HOLY."

GOD's word is has been very clear from the beginning. GOD's people are called to live their lives righteously and without sin. If not the Bible is also very clear on what happens to those who do not turn from their sin.

Hebrews 10:26-27
"For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries."

1 Corinthians 6:9-10
"Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals,[
a] nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God."

Matthew 7:19
""Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire."

John 15:6
" If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned."

DO NOT BE DECIEVED
If you abide in Christ you are called to live Holy.
Do mistakes happen, yes. Can you be forgiven for mistakes, yes.
But do not continue in your sin.

Romans 6:11-14
"Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its lusts, and do not go on presenting the members of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves to God as those alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God."

Romans 8:12-13
"So then, brethren, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh-- for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live."

1 Peter 4:1-2
"Therefore, since Christ has suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same purpose, because he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, so as to live the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for the lusts of men, but for the will of God."

Romans 12:1-2
"Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

Galatians 2:20
"I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me."

Ephesians 2:22-24
"in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth."

My final ounce of truth to add.
If, what Paul wrote in Romans 14:23 and "whatever is not done in faith is sin"
Then everything done in faith is righteous.
Therefore I offer to you this verse

Romans 1:17
" For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith,as it is written, 'The righteous shall live by faith.'"

Now with Paul's definition of sin.

If the righteous live faith, how then can they sin?
Is it not written, "We walk by faith, not by sight." - 2 Corinthians 5:7

Therefore, my brothers and sisters. I urge you not to believe the lie, that is a crutch and an excuse for sin, but to go remember to pick up your cross and follow Christ. Go and cease your willful sin. Do not turn back onto your previous life of sin for according to the word:

2 Corinthians 5:17
"Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come."

Do not turn back to your old life.

Luke 9:62
"But Jesus said to him, 'No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.'"

Good post, but prepare yourself for the personal insults and attacks.

Isaiah 59:15
Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the Lord saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment.

I've read your post, and there are some points in there which really should be listened and read by others. However, the fact that you mentioned that we should no longer sin, isn't exactly true.

You see, we are born in the sin nature, which was only realised the moment Adam and Eve fell short of the glory of God, by disobeying Him. The moment they sinned, they realized who they were. So what did they do? They tried to cover themselves with fig leaves (works and deeds/self efforts) but, to no avail. And out of mercy, God sent them out of the garden of Eden for if they were to partake from the tree of Life which is Jesus, they were to forever remain in their sin. But before God sent them out, He clothed them in the skin(s) of a(an) animal. This was a representation of a foreshadow of what Christ would come and do for mankind, and it carried on throughout the entire Old Testament. Now the point that I'm trying to make here is that even after clothing Adam and Eve with Jesus, they still sinned in their flesh. However, as long as they kept that tradition of sacrificing an animal as a peace offering to God, they were seen as righteous in the eyes of God. And that's what they did, and their son Abel also did. Cain however thought that his own works could save him, by offering his crops and fruits before God. But God didn't accept. God preferred Abel over Cain because Abel brought Jesus before Him, whereas Cain chose another route.

In the same manner, this sacrificial system was done throughout the entire Old Testament. Over the time, God gave Israel the Law, also known as the Law of Moses. Now the purpose of the law was simply to make everyone realize who they really were, that they were in fact sinners. And the only way they knew that they sinned was because the Law told them they did, followed by their conscience. So God asked them to sacrifice an unblemished animal, and in return they were sent scot-free, but only for a short time, because the blood of an animal was merely temporal. But this whole system, as I've mentioned earlier was just a foreshadow of what Christ would come and do. Because that was God's will. For His son to be the salvation of all all mankind.

So God knew that no matter how much man tried, they would eventually sin. Because that was what the flesh was born to do. So God sent His son. Now Jesus was baptized, where He took upon Himself all the sins of mankind, then lived His life for 3 years on our behalf, died, and resurrected.

The purpose of me telling you this entire story is just to prove one point; the moment we have faith to believe in what Christ has done for us, sin no longer has power over us. But, we still sin in our flesh. Because the flesh must do what the flesh was born to do, which is sin. Christ came for one purpose, to fulfill the Law on our behalf because we simpletons can't do it. And then He died for us. Now, when we believe, all that Christ is becomes us. And Christ is God. We all know that. But God is a Spirit. And that's how He dwells in us. The purpose of Him doing all of this, was so that He could save our souls. "Give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, give to God what belongs to God". Our flesh belongs to this earth. But our spirit, belongs to God. And that's what God wants us to know. He wants us to know that sin doesn't play a part in whether you go to Heaven or Hell. If it did, Heaven would be empty. The only real sin here, is unbelief. That's the determining factor.

God wants us to know that the moment we believe, our spirit is liberated and freed from the bondage of sin. Although our flesh still hangs on to it. So what do we do about it? We bring that offering. But we don't bring Jesus to God for Him to be killed again. After belief, we bring Jesus back as a reaffirmation of our faith. Every time we fall short and sin, we bring Jesus before God and thank God for what He did for us, not sit and moan and groan about what we did wrong. God could care less about that.

Sorry for the long winded story. But my point here really is that we can try and try not to sin, but we will fail in the flesh. The spirit however, is sinless and righteous. The Law still needs to play it's role of telling us that we will sin. We will continue to sin for the rest of our lives, but that's the flesh. This isn't however a free ticket to sin.

I could go on, but I hope you got the point. I feel the need to say more, but I think this should do for now. If there is anything however, feel free to ask.

Thank you and God bless.

Yes - even to not give someone else the best part is sinning if you want to pick what is sin apart. And so our flesh will always have its day.

BUT I love Hebrews 10:22 which tells me that my heart is sprinkled (with His blood) to cleanse me from a guilty conscience.

I am NOT GUILTY.

I'm not sure that what you just said was biblical.

Romans 12:1-2
"Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect."

Our bodies (not our spirit) is a living sacrifice. To be holy (without blemish/sin)

I fear this teaching that your spirit is righteous while your flesh can still be unrighteous.
That just isn't biblical.

We are to live this life of the flesh perfectly.
Is there a high chance people will fail, yes. But it isn't a "fight of faith" if you don't struggle against your flesh. We must kill our flesh(desire for sin) daily. If we continue our walk with Christ we must give up sin.

He who sins is a slave to sin.
You are either a slave to sin or a slave to righteousness. You cannot be a slave to both. You cannot have more than one master.

That is the truth of the situation.
I fear that this teaching that you suggest is so widely accepted because, it isn't biblical.

How then is my statement as you put it "we should not continue sinning" not true.
The scripture seems to agree with what I have said. How then is it the opposite.

We are commanded by GOD/ by Christ to flee from wickedness and walk the straight and narrow.
To go astray form that path means death.

"For the wages of sin is death."
There is no other option according to scripture.
Repent and sin no more. Pick up your cross and follow Christ, daily. Minute by minute. That is all it takes.

Look...John was clear....he was inspired of God, wrote almost one fifth of the N.T., was taught by Jesus personally and was allowed to write the last book of the bible which reveals Jesus as he is NOW, HIS coming and how it will all go down.....John INCLUDED himself in the following statement.....it amazes me how MANY will deny this verse, sweep it under the rug and or simply NOT believe it.

IF we say that we have NO SIN...WE are deceived and the truth is NOT in US......
The scriptures are clear...

1. It is the spirit that has been born again that DOES NOT SIN, is ETERNALLY saved, sealed, justified and sanctified eternally.
2. It is bound in a fallen, wicked, sinful body that is dead in sin, not subject unto the word of God and cannot be...IT MUST BE REMADE
3. The SPIRIT is willing to always obey and do what is right
4. The flesh is weak and always wants to do what is contrary and this is the failing of the LAW because it is WEAK through the flesh.
5. YES a saved child of God can overcome particular sins and iniquities as Christ is greater than the devil, but to say one does not ever fail, sin or stumble is contrary to the truth...

If we say that we have NO sin....we are deceived and the truth is not in us! He is faithful and just to FORGIVE US OF OUR SINS when we repent and confess! If a saved child of God cannot sin or never sin there would be no LOGICAL USE or REASON to tell saved children of GOD that they can be forgiven when they/we confess our SIN!

I thought all the worms had already wiggled out of the can?

Well, call me skeptical, but I believe people are told to come here and open up threads like this

when somone starts their very own Bible Study here and chastises anyone who actually asks a questions and gets all in a huff and then finds that no one is responding to their 'teaching'...well I mean, what's a guy with a hot and burning discussion gonna do?

Well, I'll tell you what he's gonna do...he's gonna go and get 7 more just like him and have THEM post for him and then he can come in and pet the worms

That speaks to the root of the problem, and the enmity shown in the beginning between those who are born of the flesh persecuting those who are born of the Spirit. (even so it is now)

1 John 3:12
Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.

many of 'they' who disobey have never repented. never been forgiven. cannot "follow his ways".

NOTE: they "Do not turn back to their old life." because they are still living their old life and not Christ's Life.
They especially hate this because their lives are evil, not forgiven, but they have been deceived into thinking that's okay and they don't have to change,
they honestly don't WANT TO repent, lest they truly be forgiven, and have to start living right.

Great verses "Redeemed 2015."

I would like to add these verses, as well.

Galatians 5:24 - "And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts."

Matthew 5:48 - "
Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect."

Job 28:28 - "And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding."

1 John 2:4 - "He that says, I know him, and keeps not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him."

1 Timothy 6:3-4 - "If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; He is proud, knowing nothing,"

1 John 1:7 - "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin."

Psalm 119:11 - I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 - "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works."

Matthew 26:41 - "Watch and pray, that you enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."

John 14:15 - "If you love me, keep my commandments."

John 14:23 - "Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man loves me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him."

1 John 5:12 - "He that has the Son has life; and he that has not the Son of God has not life."

John 12:48 - "He that rejects me, and receives not my words, has one that judges him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day."

John 8:34 NIV - Jesus replied, "Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.

Matthew 18:9 - "And if your eye offend you, pluck it out, and cast it from you: it is better for you to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire."

Hebrews 12:14 - "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:"

2 Peter 2:1, 14 - "But there were false prophets also among the people, ... Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: a heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:"

2 Timothy 3:1-9 - "This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, truce breakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they who creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with various lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was."

John 3:19-21 - "And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God."

Wow..I absolutely love your spiritual insight on this topic! It makes sense to me...and it's not that you are trying to beat it over someone's head, it's the fact that your discernment and knowledge has overwhelmed me here! I really do understand that the original post was trying to claim...but you brought a very clear and easy to understand approach to it. You have missed your true calling...Discernment, combined with Teaching lol . Thankyou.
