Redeeming for God? i don't think any Christian who celebrates it is trying to redeem it for God, but they can however decide how they will celebrate it and I choose to be with God while handing out candy for the kids.
But please do show the scripture that speaks on how to not celebrate halloween I have searched but could not find it regarding Halloween itself or Christmas for that matter just lots of people using scripture that sort of fits the bill but not really
There are Scriptures that speak to those holidays in particular. But there are numerous teaching that you shouldn't have anything to do with pagan customs and traditions.

Deuteronomy 12:29-31 “When the Lord your God cuts off before you the nations which you are going in to dispossess, and you dispossess them and dwell in their land, 30 beware that you are not ensnared to follow them, after they are destroyed before you, and that you do not inquire after their gods, saying, ‘How do these nations serve their gods, that I also may do likewise?’31 You shall not behave thus toward the Lord your God, for every abominable act which the Lord hates they have done for their gods; for they even burn their sons and daughters in the fire to their gods."

Deuteronomy 18:9 “When you enter the land which the Lord your God gives you, you shall not learn to imitate the detestable things of those nations”.

Jeremiah 10:1-5 “Hear the word which the Lord speaks to you, O house of Israel.2 Thus says the Lord,”
“Do not learn the way of the nations,
And do not be terrified by the signs of the heavens
Although the nations are terrified by them;
3 For the customs of the peoples are a delusion;
Because it is wood cut from the forest,
The work of the hands of a craftsman with a cutting tool.
4 “They decorate it with silver and with gold;
They fasten it with nails and with hammers
So that it will not totter.
5 “Like a scarecrow in a cucumber field are they,
And they cannot speak;
They must be carried,
Because they cannot walk!
Do not fear them,
For they can do no harm,
Nor can they do any good.”

Romans 12:2 “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

2 Corinthians 6:16 “What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people." 17 "Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you."

Colossians 2:8 "See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ."

In addition, how many times did God tell His people to destroy the High Places of the nations they inhabited? What happened to them when they didn't?

Amos 5:21 "I hate, I despise your feasts, and I take no delight in your solemn assemblies.
Actually, this verse is corrected towards Israel for celebrating God's feasts with impure hearts and motivations.

How to avoid being called a heathen and a satanist:

1.) Don't celebrate Christmas.
2.) Dont celebrate Easter.
3.)Don't celebrate Valentine's Day.
4.) Don't celebrate Halloween.
5.) Dont celebrate Thanksgiving.

Oh and lets not celebrate Labor Day, Veterans Day, Patriots Day or any of those holidays that are on our calendars either!! One could argue that THOSE days have paganistic origins.. #sarcasm
I'd like to make 1 distinction if I may. Most of those holidays have nothing to do with God, nor profess to do so, therefore making them common, civil holidays.
Halloween is founded on blatant evil and paganism.
Christmas and easter all proclaim to be about worshiping God, yet are founded in paganism.

There's nothing wrong with doing common things. There is something wrong with taking paganism and trying to conform it to Godly.

This is what I meant, there are tons of scriptures like this but they only sort of fit the bill. They could be interpreted to be meaning the celebrating of holidays but they still show no evidence that halloween is evil. I mean we watch t.v. right? these scriptures could be easily seen as to not watch t.v. because the world does, we use credit cards these scriptures could easily be seen as not to use credit cards.
it just seems like trying to fit a puzzle piece where it doesn't quite go

I think a key concept to remember is that God calls His people to be holy and set apart. Set apart from what? The world.

John 17:14-21 “I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 15 I do not ask You to take them out of the world, but to keep them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth. 18 As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. 19 For their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth.
20 “I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; 21 that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me."I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
20 “I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; 21 that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me."

Romans 12:2 "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect."

As you read through Scripture, and these ones in particular, you'll notice that the context is all about how the world lives in contrast to a life of worship to God.

The thrust of these verses is to having NOTHING to do with their ways.

I Recently Got into a debate with a fellow member on here on Halloween being evil and I wanted to see scriptural proof that Halloween is evil not someones opinion. In my onion it can be evil if celebrated by making blood sacrifices or skinning cats and such but Halloween is about kids dressing up and getting free candy right? I mean sure it can be evil if we make it evil but the same could be said about any other day as well.

Of course looking from the other point of view there a lot of decorations of Ghosts demons and the devil and the Hallow in Halloween means holy and I suppose if the enemy wanted to make a mockery of the word holy this is one way to do it. But still it seems to me like its something that you can choose to make evil or not
Is the 4th of July evil?

What is your heart's intent - What is your motive?

Are you celebrating Halloween as a "pagan"? Or are you just letting your kids have fun dressing up as their favorite Disney character, cartoon character, super hero character, etc.? Or are you teaching your children to worship witches, warlocks, etc.?

Your children probably don't even know that it was once a pagan holiday . . . their just having a day to play dress up, get candy, and maybe scare people! [or at least thinking that they are scaring people!]

Again, What is your heart's intent - What is your motive?

Dear Blain:

Abstain from all appearance of evil. - 1 Thessalonians 5:22.

Kids today dress up as evil things all the time on Halloween. Also, the whole if you can't beat them so join them idea is not a moral concept nor is it a biblical one. Would you do that with other evil things?

With all due respect, we need to be careful with this line of reasoning. If you take Scripture out of it and just go by your heart's intent, anything could be permissible. What if you're hearts intent is to love someone deeply so you sleep with them? What if you're heart's intent is to relax so much that you take some drugs?

Remember,

Jeremiah 17:9-10
“The heart is more deceitful than all else

And is desperately sick;
Who can understand it?
10 “I, the Lord, search the heart,
I test the mind,
Even to give to each man according to his ways,
According to the results of his deeds."

God ordained certain things that would be helpful to us, and also warned us not to practice any other religious things that didn't come from Him. Halloween is one of those things to stay away from according to the Word of God. If it doesn't help with our understanding of His perfect will, it is not what He wants.

If Satan chose a holiday to signify worship for himself, this is it. Of course it would be done to attract people from infancy to adults.

Uh, Have you ever really researched the origin of these days for yourself?
