When it comes to why we respect those in authority, this was given as a law that the Israelis would respect their leaders, that being the priests and teh High Priest......because Israel was a true theocracy for a time. The True Israel, you will know in the Word, is an eternal Theocracey, but keep in mind, the a Authority is the King.

When Paul was taken before the High Priest, he defended himself and even salke back to him, even though he, the high priest, and those who took him in were apparently people of authority. It was only when Paul was made to know he had spoken ill to the hsgh priest, that he apologized for speaking thus to an "authority."

Jesus is clear, render unto Caesar what is Caesar's and unto God what is God's. He alsre referred to an earthyly authority, Herod, as that old fox.

The leaders of the world and the politics they dollow and elaborate upon the masses form the cesspool of what may be called progress of the world.

I say respect your leaders begining with The Father, The Son and the HOly Spirit. I know Who is my Authority...

There is something Jesus said that I want you to think about. Jesus said to those who followed Him: “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

And remember HE also said this:

Matthew 7:20-24 (NKJV)
[SUP]20 [/SUP] Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
[SUP]21 [/SUP] "
Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
[SUP]22 [/SUP]
Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?'
[SUP]23 [/SUP] And then I will declare to them, '
I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'
[SUP]24 [/SUP] "Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine,
and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock:

Romans 13:1-11 (NKJV)
[SUP]1 [/SUP] Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.
[SUP]2 [/SUP] Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves.
[SUP]3 [/SUP] For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same.
[SUP]4 [/SUP] For he is God's minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God's minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil.
[SUP]5 [/SUP] Therefore you must be subject, not only because of wrath but also for conscience' sake.
[SUP]6 [/SUP] For because of this you also pay taxes, for they are God's ministers attending continually to this very thing.
[SUP]7 [/SUP] Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.
[SUP]8 [/SUP] Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.
[SUP]9 [/SUP] For the commandments, "You shall not commit adultery," "You shall not murder," "You shall not steal," "You shall not bear false witness," "You shall not covet," and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
[SUP]10 [/SUP] Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
[SUP]11 [/SUP] And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.

So what are you rambling on about Israel being a Theocracy for? ? ?

Matthew 5:18 (NKJV)
[SUP]18 [/SUP] For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.
