In Canada, they do not sell cigarettes or liquor in grocery stores. But they are open on Sunday! So not such a bad place to work.

As for a casino, it is an establishment dedicated to fleecing people of their money. It caters to people who want to get rich quick, and gambling addicts.

We had a family friend who was an evangelist and went all over the world leading people to Christ. Then he decided that he was being legalistic about what he did in his personal life. He visited us one Friday night. He said he was going out for a while. He came back drunk at 3 am, and bragging about his winnings in the casino. Then he said he was going to some church to preach on Sunday morning. We threw him out of our house.

I don't think you can go to a casino and remain untouched by the sin there. I won't say about working there, maybe you can keep yourself from getting dragged into the morass of evil.

There is a fine line between being legalistic, and getting pulled into sin that destroys your walk with God. I would not advise anyone to spend time in casinos. Call me legalistic, but why put yourself into a place where these sins can take over your life?

is it unholy to a chrsitian Work in a cassino?just as atendent , security or HR.

i think it is,sinse you are earning profit from others sins, working directly or indirectly in a company based on gamble.
not impotant if its ilecal or not...honest or not its still sinful!
what do you think ,people?
if possible support your answer with biblical verses ,please!

First of all to answer your question people need to move away from that false teaching that gambling is a sin.......

There is absolutely no scriptures in the bible that state this, and for those who have been taught casting lots is gambling over look the fact that the Apostles cast lots to determine who would fill the open position of the original 12 that was needed to be filled after Judas hung himself.
God choose and the lot fell on Mathias........

I know the way people go over board and turn it into sin by causing themselves financial problems and other problems that come by financial burdens, but the gambling itself is nowhere in the bible called a sin.

So now to answer your question no it is not a sin to work there, even though some may abuse the right to gamble and cause themselves problems that is their sin to repent of and not yours. You are working to support your family which is what the bible says to do.............

Ha ha! Rather than being humble and apologizing for the error of their ways, they became angry because you hit them with the hard truth that THEIR actions forced you into missing worship.

Excellent story, Score!
We really hated when 12 noon Sunday arrived. That is when the "Church crowd" began to arrive in the store.
Many of them were rude, complained the most, and could not be pleased.
They were not a very good testamony to the lost.

to answer your question no it is not a sin to work there
Gambling per se is a gray issue. The fourteenth chapter of Romans is handy
for resolving those kinds issues. In a nutshell, though something may not be
okayed or condemned in the Bible, it is wrong for someone to forge ahead
when they have doubts.

†. Rom 14:22-23 . . So whatever you believe about these things keep
between yourself and God. Blessed is the man who does not condemn
himself by what he approves. But the man who has doubts is condemned if
he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and everything that does not
come from faith is sin.

Bottom line: Until someone is convinced in their own mind that it is not a sin
to work in a casino, they should hold off until they are confident one way or
the other.

†. Rom 14:5 . . Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.

†. Rom 14:14 . . If anyone regards something as unclean, then for him it is
unclean.

If a cassino were a house of women (trading with sex) I would think it is sinful.

Betting is not like investing in stocks and companies shares but, at the long run, those shares produce huge loses (same way betting does).

Why don´t you get a better job?

If you owned a liquor store, wouldn´t you be sinning too? (One of my uncles had one)

If you sold used cars, knowing the actual price you paid to own those you could be selling (at higher prices) Won´t you be sinning? If you paid for a used car 300 dollars and, when a client came in, you sold it to him in 3.000 dollars...

Their trick is this: "Pro 20:23 The LORD hates dishonest scales and dishonest weights. So don't cheat! "

I hope you find a better place.

I've heard waiters and waitresses say the same thing about the Sunday crowd. The worst are the church people who look down on the waitress for working on Sunday. It reminds me of a story of a waitress who actually had a couple lecture her about working on a Sunday after eating their meal and then they refused to tip her because they said they didn't approve of breaking the Sabbath. Yet it was okay for them to eat out on a Sunday! Complete insanity.

Every person that has been reborn will seek to purify themselves so what I am saying is if he had been there for only a little while and he was giving out scriptures I would hope GOD would be using him to bring conviction to someone there but if he had been there for years I would think he was legalistic.
IDK. You're under the delusion that people who are saved are still out to purify themselves. ;)

(Assuming you didn't get that. If I could have purified myself, I would have never needed Jesus.)

Not legalistic at all, Sister. The casino life can definitely corrupt and rule a person if they're not careful.

Everything in appropriate moderation.

Now I'm getting angry reading all these stories -- and not at the messengers.

Are people out of their minds? Looking down upon, scolding, not tipping . . .

Yeah, I'm getting angry!

The worst part of my job was scheduling people to work on Sunday.
Any time someone would ask to be off and no one would trade shifts with them, I would work in their place as bad as I hated to miss church.
I hate to say this, but Sunday just seems to bring out the nasty in some people.
