Marijuana has way too many negative effects which outweigh the positive ones.
Right like....ummm....The munchies?

putting oneself in an altered state of consciousness is not healthy, it is a delusion.
Right...Which is why you don't to hallucinogens...What does this have to do with marijuana?

One of my bishops, Metropolitan Jonah, said that it was "spiritual death".
WAIT! Metropolitan Jonah said that? Looks like I have lost all footing in my debate :(

If we're against doing things that make your brain release extra chemicals that make you feel good and alter your headspace, then we shouldn't attend worship services. Everything from gathering, studying, singing and praying will do that.

That said, I don't think people should be doing illegal things. It doesn't benefit us or our relationship with God to be in trouble with the law or live in fear of the authorities. Also, as I said earlier, I don't think it's good to be under the influence of anything but the holy spirit. People don't smoke pot or drink alcohol to improve their relationship with God, they do it to escape their reality. If reality is not what you want it to be, then efforts should be made to fix it.

Think about what you're saying, who really cares if you do weed?

Seriously, answer that selfless (or selfish) question and then realize HOW weed fits into your temporary and eternal existence.

The Lord leads, I gave my observations in my post before this one and prescription drugs are bad news if made for meth , but taken for a migraine, welk then, that is totally different (medicinal) usage, right ? But painkillers pills, getting hooked on them, it is doing something that TAKES you frOM GOD, not to mention, if you get stuff like thatboff internet it can be tainted with fillers that can KILL you, :(

Try your best to qualflify the things of your life against God's PLAN for your life. :)
I think I'm gonna try and quit. I rarely smoke as is. Just got some bad influences around me. I think I should honestly try and say no though.

1. More than the munchies, addiction and hangovers (highovers), and altered states of consciousness which are not healthy.

2. Marijuana DOES indeed alter your state of consciousness, don't think I don't know what i'm talking about, I used to smoke the stuff a lot and have done it recently thanks to the fact that my brothers are in the same house and leave the stuff lying around... I experienced with it after becoming a Christian and it was nothing but a delusion and an addiction. It put me in a trance-like state that was mind altering in essence and spiritually deadly.

3. Yes, spiritual death, read the quote I have posted at the bottom. Metropolitan Jonah is a leading Christian bishop of the OCA (Orthodox Church in America), you are going to understand the implications of this sooner or later. A lamp cannot be hidden under a bushel.

I still feel God gave just Ten Commandments. Just ten commandments define what is and is not Sin, the rest are “commandments of men.”
Drug use is for our own good unless it is abused as even over consumption of food is bad.
I always get humored at Genesis 9:20
You would think Noah caused his own shame by getting sloppy drunk and passing out on the dirt. Instead his son gets the blame for not covering his drunk old man up.

20 Noah, a man of the soil, proceeded[a] to plant a vineyard. 21 When he drank some of its wine, he became drunk and lay uncovered inside his tent. 22 Ham, the father of Canaan, saw his father’s nakedness and told his two brothers outside. 23 But Shem and Japheth took a garment and laid it across their shoulders; then they walked in backward and covered their father’s nakedness. Their faces were turned the other way so that they would not see their father’s nakedness.
24 When Noah awoke from his wine and found out what his youngest son had done to him, 25 he said,
“Cursed be Canaan!
The lowest of slaves
will he be to his brothers.”

26 He also said,
“Praise be to the LORD, the God of Shem!
May Canaan be the slave of Shem.

Judges 9:12 Then said the trees unto the vine, Come thou, and reign over us.
13 And the vine said unto them, Should I leave my wine, which cheereth God and man, and go to be promoted over the trees?

Notice – at the wedding, Christ should have said, “Everyone looks pretty plastered, I think that is enough wine for now, let’s just stay with the water.” Instead
He turned the wine into the best wine man had ever tasted.
Back then drugs might just make you fall off your donkey.
Today it is a very serious problem because of our modes of transportation and machinery. You would not want
your airline pilots smoking a joint before takeoff.

Exactly! whats the motive for smoking weed?

Also to everyone who says that it opens your mind, it doesn't. It does quite the opposite. HALLUCINOGENS open your mind to the devil. Weed and it's effects can be fully explained scientifically. You're just receiving a lot more of your basic "happy" chemicals that your brain produces. HALLUCINOGENS create a spiritual experience and your brain operates in a whole new way (vulnerability to the devil). Marijuana DOES NOT DO THIS.
actually it does...though the demonizing effects are much more subtle than with things like peyote and ayahuasca... marijuana users are not likely to have full hallucinations...but often they becoming willing to entertain strange 'philosophical' thinking...that 'inspiration' comes from the demonic world...

like i said before...there is danger in the fact that the demonizing effects of marijuana are subtle enough that the user has no idea what is really going on spiritually when they use it...this post is a perfect example of that...

smoking weed in the US will cause you to have legal problems in most states. if you already have legal problems then you should doubly avoid smoking weed or any other acts such as piracy and copy right infringement that will be used against you in the court of law.

In addition you should avoid posting on the internet or any other means that can be tied to you that you are thinking of committing illegal activities because it will not help you in the court system. don't know about the courts in Cananda, but just a suggestion.

I totally agree, but....what are you going to do when the law of the land tells you that worshiping and praying to God is illegal? Think carefully, you can't say one thing, then do the other. God also says "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.

Cannabis can and is eaten everyday, but the world has taught that it's bad even called it Devils weed.

Smoking weed makes you stupid...
Stupid...and lazy!!!! I mean, who has ever been successful and smoked weed?....well... besides....
bravo.jpg carl sagan.jpg phelps2.jpg steve jobs.jpg wee2.png

Too much research has shown that weed doesn't make you stupid or lazy. Stupid and lazy people make people stupid and lazy. That aside. Read your Bible, Canadian36. Preferably in chronological order like I am. let me know if you find anything bud.

Also, what do we do about Colorado and Washington? Is it ok to just do it there?

The body keeps what it uses and discards what it does not. Weed is not a sin and helpful to a number of people. It is illegal because I can plant a seed. You cannot tax that! I can't grow alcohol or cigarettes.

I don't advocate recreational weed. But it's probably that the big corporations are afraid of marijuana because if meds were made from it they would stand to lose a lot of money. I think safe and legal trials are needed, to figure how much it can be used for medical purposes.

It is wrong for a christian to be addictive and dependable.

Till now I remember classemates, who (around 11 years old) told about first expirience (of smoking weed).
Then they understood danger of becoming addictive to it. After 10 years of smoking experience they grew in nothing, but losers, deeply dependable (from different drugs). And weed in their eyes became a Holy Grass.

Look even to them who practice magic instead christianity. Carlos Castaneda and his teachers understood well that drugs are too destructive for their bodies. They used psychostimulators only for goal of making significant progress in their mystical way = in order to develop their perception abilities.

What for (for what kind of personal developement) you gonna use it, if you like to remain a christian???

It is a sin to smoke weed it alters your mind and is a temporary fix as God is long term no drugs just the power of the Holy Ghost I was a 25 year smoker smoked for twenty five years every day I smoked a pound a week of commercial and and 34 grams medical a month I was a regular smoke and dealer , my field was growing the high grade stuff a specialist and a consultant to my local dispensaries , the Lord called me out of this lifestyle and gave me an ultimatum to serve or die , because I had a commission to full fill for God I was chosen for the work so I quit the entire lifestyle cut cold turkey , then I realized how much of a hot mess I was how depressed how much in bondage I really was I prayed read my Bible but self discipline did not work I was weak then I started exercising the holy spirit prayer and in the 4th month I was liberated by Jesus I heard the chains breaking , then I was free no more wanting for the stuff all desire left if God freed me from it it is a sin and I will sin no more
