are you saying they are one and the same,or that they are 2 persons?
That is what he is saying but it is not what most Christians believe. It is called a ONENESS DOCTRINE.

If you are saying he was not "water" baptized...............then yes......he was not.........however, Jesus FORGAVE him his sins because he believed Jesus was who He was..............thus the precious blood of Jesus certainly was applied to him.......
If you are saying he was not "water" baptized...............then yes......he was not
What scripture are you using to back up this assertion?

We know very very little about the thief on the cross. How do you know this about his background?

How do you know he was not among the many who were water baptized for the remission of sins by John the Baptist and his followers? (Mark 1:4) How do you know he was not baptized by Jesus's disciples during the years of His ministry?

I see no way of knowing this either way. How can you make such a bold statement of fact like this?

I agree, and that kind of baptism is definitely bring you to heaven. Water baptism ritual not necessary a token to heaven.
[SUP]18 [/SUP]And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. [SUP]19 [/SUP][SUP][e][/SUP]Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, [SUP]20 [/SUP]teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you [SUP][f][/SUP]always, even to the end of the age.”
[SUP]37 [/SUP]Now when they heard this, they were [SUP][aj][/SUP]pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “[SUP][ak][/SUP]Brethren, [SUP][al][/SUP]what shall we do?” [SUP]38 [/SUP]Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. [SUP]39 [/SUP]For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself.”
[SUP]17 [/SUP]So Ananias departed and entered the house, and after laying his hands on him said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road by which you were coming, has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” [SUP]18 [/SUP]And immediately there fell from his eyes something like scales, and he regained his sight, and he got up and was baptized; [SUP]19 [/SUP]and he took food and was strengthened.
Well.... these people thought that baptism was important.... but, hey.... you believe whatever you wish.

Personally, I'd rather do what Jesus said to do, and not try to weasel out of it by parsing words. It's pretty simple to understand.

The way into Christ’s church (His body, His kingdom) is water baptism. The keys to the kingdom are repent and be baptized. When John was preaching and baptizing, Christ’s church, and the way into Christ’s church, did not exist yet. Therefore John’s baptism did not put people into Christ’s church- which is why after Christ’s resurrection people had to be baptized again.

John’s baptism prepared the way for the Lord, because the kingdom, and the way into the kingdom, was about to begin. Noah’s ark and the parting of the sea- these were physical representations of New Covenant baptism. John was preparing them to switch over from the old covenant to the new covenant about to take place shortly after his death and Christ’s death. John prepared the way (start repenting and being baptized because the kingdom is near), and Peter was the first to use the keys to the kingdom (repent and be baptized every one of you for the remission of your sins).

John's baptism is not the same as it is today. In the 19th chapter of Acts Paul demonstrates that John's baptism was ended by re-baptizing the disciples of John unto Christ. John was the only administrator of his baptism so when John ended so did his baptism. Paul said that John baptized unto repentance saying that they should believe on Him that would come after him, which was Jesus Christ. One characteristic of Christian baptism is that it can be administered by anyone that is a partaker of the fruits of salvation through Christ; in other words they were themselves baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost. Peter said, in Acts 2:38 repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Now faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God according to Romans 10 so if I believe what Peter said and I obey it then through faith God will give me the Holy Ghost. On the other hand if I don't believe what Peter said then it is apparent that I do not have the Holy Ghost because to not believe in baptism is a statement of disbelief in what Peter preached and the disbeliever really is manifested by his rejection of truth. The plan of salvation is Death (repentance), burial (baptism) resurrection (infilling of the Holy Ghost). See the 6th chapter of Romans.

What follows on the heels of the baptism issue is whether or not the thief on the cross was baptized or not. In the 6th chapter of Romans Paul says that baptism is symbolic of being buried with Christ. In repentance we die with Christ, in baptism we are buried with Him. The thief on the cross Repented, and died and was buried with Christ, and resurrected with Christ as a literal partaker of Christs baptism into death. Perhaps those that don't believe that baptism is essential to salvation would prefer to do it like the thief on the Cross did it. in Mat 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Since Peter had the keys I think it would be wise to listen to what he had to say in Acts 2:38.
