He knows when you've been naughty. He knows when you've been nice. He knows when you're sleeping. He knows when you're awake. He knows if you've been good or bad.

Sounds like a false god.

You are absolutely correct. If Santa is all seeing and all knowing.. that is turning him into a god. The Moabites had a god of prosperity. He was a fat man in a red suit and they sacrificed children to him. Another thing..to tell you children about an imaginary man is lie and the Bible is quite clear about lying. In short Santa Clause is an abomination

Santa Claus was a real guy that's been dead for like 1600 years. So no, he's not evil. He's just... dead. Pop culture Santa is another story, I do think it can lead people astray, and the false god statement is very true. It's a nice ploy to lead people away from celebrating Christ's birth (although I do not believe Christ was born in December, but that's for another thread so I won't go into that here.) I don't put up any Santa related stuff in my house around Christmastime because of my views on it.

Is asking stupid questions about "what is evil?" in polls a waste of time and stupid? If not also evil in itself? We can rely on the Holy Spirit to tell us what is evil: pride, greed, lust, wrath (unjustified anger), sloth (laziness), envy, and the like: fornication, pornography, masturbation, adultery, homosexuality, incest, rape, murder, theft, arson, bestiality, blasphemy, heresy, idolatry, apostasy, lying, cowardice, false witness, covetousness, and so on. Sin is the common enemy of every Christian. And the sins are the same for all people: it's just that some people are tempted by different sins. So asking if Catholicism, Protestantism, Eastern Orthodoxy, Mormonism, atheism, Thor, Santa Clause are evil, it's a meaningless waste of time to be focusing so much on things which do not edify all. The sins people are actually committing have little to do with whether one is a Protestant, Catholic, or Orthodox, or whatever. People can sin, whatever church they believe in. People do sin. Hopefully, one's church experience will help one to live holy lives when one is not in church. It should be 24/7 and not just on Sunday. But of course Sunday should be important too.
God is the One, the One God, Who knows what we all are doing. Not Santa Clause.
I need to get back to church. Soon.
My life situation is something of a hiatus from church. I'm sure I need to take time to make time to be there in church. I need to learn to do better and to do better in how I live.

He's about as evil as Thor. Lol I don't think Santa is anymore evil than alot of characters in most children's stories.

YouTube - ‪Here Comes Santa Claus [Lyrics]‬‏

Listen to the song and look at the words. Its all innocent and fun. Watch the lyrics they say it all.

Satan and Santa have the same letters in there names as well.

Jesus came down from Heaven and gave gifts unto men, and so did Santa.

Ephesians 4:8 *Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

Jesus's cloths were stained red, and Santa's cloths are red.

Hebrews 9:12 *Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

Jesus is coming back in the night or when people least expect, Santa also comes at night.

Matthew 25:6 *And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

Children pray to Jesus, they also pray to Santa. Since Santa is all knowing as well.

I'm sure there are more coincidences.

I remember thinking if I would have children if I would go with the fad of Santa Claus just because I remembered the fun of waiting for gifts on Christmas and it was like magic. But it is teaching them to only look at Jesus's birth only for gifts from Santa Claus. It is also lieing to them. This was even before realizing that and your right it is basically sounds like a false God. Even if you only think about it for the one day. So this makes a good discussion. If one would bring up their kids with no Santa how would you raise them to talk to kids that do believe in Santa.

Santa claus as is present in American culture, is evil in a round-about-way... He's an idol, and promotes materialism. Christmas should be re-named Clausmas...

He isn't evil, just creepy

I mean, think about it: a fat man from the top of the world breaks into you house once a year, puts stuff under your tree and into your stockings, and steals your milk and cookiez

But seriously, he is treated as a god-like figure by children in the west and he promotes greediness

Dude:
Thank you for bringing up the issue of sacrifice to a false god.

Everyone that practices this christless holiday teaching there children of santa claus are still sacrificing there children to this false god today. We will give our children over to a false god rather than bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the LORD? All in the name of GOOD CLEAN FUN! IT"S ALL INNOCENT WHAT CAN IT HURT?

God said learn not the way of the heathen!

Jeremiah 10:1-4 (KJV)
1 Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:
2 Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.

Deuteronomy 12:30-32 (KJV)
30 Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise.
31 Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God: for every abomination to the LORD, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods.
32 What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.

Deuteronomy 18:9-14 (KJV)
9 When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.
10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,
11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.
13 Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God.
14 For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the LORD thy God hath not suffered thee so to do.

What did satan say he would do?
Isaiah 14:13-14 (KJV)
13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

santa claus. He sits in a throne and children flock to him. His place of dwelling in in the north (north pole) he flies above the clouds from house to house. Children pray to him just as they do the LIVING GOD. He has become like God in his mind.

A must read, lots of information.
