is The Holy Spirit God's very own Spirit? How is The Holy Spirit God?
The Holy Spirit is God. . . . But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Spirit, and to keep back part of the price of the land? . . . . 4b) thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God. Acts 5:3,4b

And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Spirit shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God Luke 1:35 . . . . . Holy Spirit = power of the Highest = God.

God also gives us the gift of holy spirit - Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of holy spirit. . . . Acts 2:38

And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. (Luk 4:14)

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. (Act 1:8)

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. (Rom 15:13)

That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
(Eph 3:16)

So yes, the Holy Spirit is associated with power (usually in our weakness) but He is also fully God and personal as are the persons of the Father and Son.

Sorry lil sis but this has turned into a trinity thread.
We are created in the image of God are we not. The word say' come let us make man.

We have a mind, a body, and a spirit. That's 3 in 1. When we get saved we become a new creature something that never existed before, why because the 3 become 4. I know that blows your mind and I'll get all kinds of flack. But, mind, body, spirit and now the Holy Spirit dwells in us my 3rd grade teacher taught me that that was 4.

Gracious goodness. Kerry is trying to simplify the definition or the person of the Holy Spirit to his "Lil Sis" in a way he thinks she could easily understand . And you people dropped the bomb on him.

We all are so eager to be the defender of our faith that sometimes we leave home without our wisdom.

Most people miss this

Rev. 2

29 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
I ask you Kerry, is it natural to use money? Please hear what the Spirit says.

bomb? I don't know about that 3 to 4 stuff. Sounds like something going from a trinity to a quadripartite or a quadrinity.
Got me :confused:

I know that this is difficult. most can't see it, but think about it. We are 3 in one. Mind (soul), Body, Spirit, and the Holy Spirit that dwells in us.

I would rather preach the cross.

Just be careful, there was a strange teaching back in the 70's that said when Christ took His bride to Himself the Trinity became a 4-some. I forget the word used. It equated us with divinty anyways.

Cross, I'm not that stupid. I realize and know the trinity and well founded in the word ( I think). I'm not going to be tripped up by some false doctrine ( I hope in the cross). But, I'm just saying that that is 4

Apostle Paul quoted in his epistle that;

"Only the SPIRIT know what is in the mind of GOD, as how you would know what is in your mind."

"But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrances, whatsoever I have said to you. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." (John 14:26-27)

The forth in that strange doctrine is referred to the church (bride). FATHER, SON and the HOLY SPIRIT, and the church. The forth is not even mentioned being used in baptizing people.

Why?

Because the forth is part of CHRIST. As 'a body', CHRIST is the Head and the bride are the body parts.

When LORD JESUS CHRIST struck Saul, who is later chosen as Apostle Paul, said HE this;

"Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?"

But Saul was actually persecuting the church (bride). This proves CHRIST and the church physically and spiritually are 'one body'. According to the sound doctrine knowledge wisdom in the Scripture, Kingdom knowledge does justifies and disapproves the forth to be included along with the Trinity.

Again this because they are included in the Trinity.

May the Good GOD the FATHER of our LORD JESUS CHRIST help all believers, when they hear or read, to give them spiritual understanding from the spiritual teachings.

The Holy Spirit is a person of the divine Godhead. He is not part of the Father or the Son.
11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.

10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

5 And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee. note note

6 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark: note note note

7 But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light. note

8 And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be. note

9 And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one

Shadrach,Meshach, and Abednego were cast into the furnace. That's three but there was another that makes four.

Danielle,

This had turned into a Trinity thread however since it has, I will comment anyway. You will never understand how the Holy Spirit/Holy Ghost can be God if you try to see him as a trinity because the bible does not teach that. God is not a trinity, he is one being. The terms Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are titles that simply describe different aspects of God's relationship to humanity. As the Father, he created us. As the son, he died on the cross and redeemed us. As the Holy Ghost/Holy Spirit, he lives in us and gives us the power to defeat our flesh and the devil. But he is not three seperate beings. It is the same spirit.

John 4:24 declares that God is a spirit. We know that God is holy and he is a spirit. That makes him the Holy Spirit. They are all the same being. Let me give you an example:

I am a father, a son, and a husband. But I am just one man. I interact with different people in my life based on the relationship I have with them. To take it a step further, If my wife and I worked together and I was her boss, I would be both her boss and her husband. But at during work, I would not be intimate with her because I have to fulfill a different role in her life at that point in time. But I don't need to split myself into two people to be able to do that.

Lil sis, Jesus in the flesh did not perform one miracle. He spoke it as He is the word of God and the Hand of God moved according to the word. The power of God is the preaching of the gospel, because when preached, the hearts of men are pricked and the Holy Spirit convicts and pulls them to the cross.
Kerry the Bible refutes you completely on Jesus.

Acts 10.38 says:
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

Jesus did miracle because he was anointed with the Holy Ghost/Spirit and power...check yourself please.
