Are you going to ask walking tree if he would consider it sin to commit adultery, steal, bear false witness, murder?
You should you know, for if he replies ''yes'' you can explain to him that's wrong because the ten commandments are not written in your mind and placed on your heart
The 10 commandments aren't written on the Christians mind or placed in the Christians heart.

But that doesn't mean that the Christian doesn't know what the 10 commandments say.

Galatians 2:19 For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.

That doesn't make a lot of sense if the 10 commandments are written on your heart. Then you would be dead to what is written on your heart and placed in your mind. And what would that make you?

But I don't think that your circular reasoning will allow you to see this.

As far as you are concerned if you know what sin is then the 10 commandments that show sin are written on your heart and placed in your mind.

I've shown you over and over why this is wrong but you can't see it. I don't really know why. Maybe you are just pretending. Are you just pretending?

Why are you not seeking to help people like walking tree, rather you just want to argue with me? That's not prioritising correctly is it:

Through the law we become conscious of sin Romans3:20 One of the most basic biblical facts.
So why don't you make sure walking tree does not believe he has the ten commandments written in his mind and placed on his heart, as I hope you are here to help others according to your personal beliefs. Just ask him if he would be conscious he sinned by committing murder, adultery, bearing false witness, stealing. And then if he tells you he would be conscioius he sinned by doing those things, you can explain to him he should not be, for the ten commandments are not written in his mind and placed on his heart. I repeat, your priority should not be arguing with me, but seeking to help others according to your beliefs. And its a waste of time you trying to help me because I will never change my mind, seek to help people that may

Not sure what everyone else has said (too many pages to read through).

The Lord God is the same yesterday and tomorrow, God doesn't change.
Mal 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

Some people need more help than others.

Do you keep a Saturday sabbath? If so, what is it you do or don't do on Saturdays?

Galatians 2:19 makes perfect sense if you understand the truth. Is this master of the obvious day? I don't want to miss it because I am really good at stating obvious things. Like, the 10 commandments aren't written on the Christians heart. Thank you Captain Obvious.

They usually dont work on the sabbath and maybe go to church if they're SDA.

Unfortunately, had they read the Torah, there is a lot more related to keeping the sabbath. They would claim all the sacrifices of the biblical feasts have been removed in Christ, but the sabbath and feasts themselves still remain obligatory for christians!

Its all or nothing!

Does honesty matter Grandpa? Or can it be ignored for the believer?
You see, if we are really honest, you know as well as I do, it would be a ridiculous thing to tell any believer they would be wrong to be conscious of sin concerning murder, stealing, adultery, bearing false witness. That is why you cannot ask walking tree the question isn't it. So what do I say now? Your belief is ridiculous, or you just cannot understand this subject according to what is written in scripture:
Through the law we become conscious of sin Romans3:20
One of the most basic biblical facts in scripture

Yes, dead to the law, alive in Messiah. To be alive in Messiah is to be dead to the law. Why? Because the law is of no value? No. Because the law does not apply to those who have no sin, who continually live by the power of the Spirit that dwells within us. Where the Spirit is, sin is not. Where there is no sin, there is no application of the law.

Jesus removes our sins through faith by the power of the spirit. It happens because he comes to live within us, through a 'living' relationship with the Father through the Spirit Jesus provides. It's not that the law is opposed to us, it's that the law does not apply to us. And even when we stumble or fall Jesus is right there with open arms ready to clean us right back off again. As long as we remain under the power of the Spirit we have no fear of sin or death.

The Law and Sin
The Law reveals our sin. Romans 7:7

Life Through the Spirit
The Spirit 'removes' our sin. Romans 8:1-4

The law of the Spirit sets us free from sin, thus releasing us from the law of sin and in the end death.

Anyone who has studied Romans knows chapter 7 is inextricably tied to chapter 8. The law reveals sin, correct. And the Spirit removes sin. So don't live by the law of the flesh of dealing with sins, but live by the law of the Spirit that removes the sin and frees us from all condemnation.

A difference in the covenants that many seem to completely misunderstand. The reason we are free from sin is because we have been gifted the Spirit of God who dwells within his temple. His children. The reason we are not 'under' the law is because we who are in Christ are dead to sin. And so released from the aspect of sin and death within the Law.
Romans 6:1-14

If one understands that the law reveals your sins then why can't they understand that it's the Spirit given under the new covenant which removes all sins from our beings? And why would they use Romans 7 against Romans 6 & 8 in their theology?

Luther and others on Galatians 19-21

For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. (Gal 2:19 KJV)

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. (Gal 2:20 KJV)

I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. (Gal 2:21 KJV)

“To die to the law is to renounce it and to be freed from its dominion, so that we have no confidence in it and it does not hold us captive under the yoke of slavery.” (Calvin)

“When a person is a Christian he is above law and sin. When the Law accuses him, and sin wants to drive the wits out of him, a Christians looks to Christ. A Christian is free. He has no master except Christ. A Christian is greater than the whole world.” (Luther)

“We are not to think that the Law is wiped out. It stays. It continues to operate in the wicked. But a Christian is dead to the Law. For example, Christ by His resurrection became free from the grave, and yet the grave remains. Peter was delivered from prison, yet the prison remains. The Law is abolished as far as I am concerned, when it has driven me into the arms of Christ. Yet the Law continues to exist and to function. But it no longer exists for me.” (Luther)

“Blessed is the person who knows how to use this truth in times of distress. He can talk. He can say: ‘Mr. Law, go ahead and accuse me as much as you like. I know I have committed many sins, and I continue to sin daily. But that does not bother me. You have got to shout louder, Mr. Law. I am deaf, you know. Talk as much as you like, I am dead to you. If you want to talk to me about my sins, go and talk to my flesh. Belabour that, but don’t talk to my conscience. My conscience is a lady and a queen, and has nothing to do with the likes of you, because my conscience lives to Christ under another law, a new and better law, the law of grace.’“ (Luther)

Paul realized that on the cross, a “great exchange” occurred. He gave Jesus his old, try-to-be-right-before-God-by-the-law life, and it was crucified on the cross. Then Jesus gave Paul His life to life - Christ came to live in him. So Paul’s life isn’t his own anymore, it belongs to Jesus Christ! Paul doesn’t own his own life (that life died); he is simply “managing” the new life Jesus gave him.

The life Jesus lives in us is glorious. “Christ is no sheriff. He is ‘the Lamb of God, which takes away the sins of the world.’ (Joh_1:29)” (Luther)

Before, Paul’s relationship with God was founded on what he could do for God - his faith was in himself. Now, the foundation is what Jesus Christ has done for him - his faith is in Jesus. And Paul found a marvellous person to put his faith in! It is a person who loved him. It is a person who demonstrated that love when He gave Himself for Paul.

What confidence Paul can have in giving his life to, and living His life for, someone who loves him that much! When we realize the great love God has shown for us, it makes everything in the Christian life easier.

“Did the Law ever love me? Did the Law ever sacrifice itself for me? Did the Law ever die for me? On the contrary, it accuses me, it frightens me, it drives me crazy. Somebody else saved me from the Law, from sin and death unto eternal life. That Somebody is the Son of God, to whom be praise and glory forever.” (Luther)

“To nullify grace would be to put one’s trust, not in salvation as God’s free gift, but in one’s own efforts. To do this is to reject grace altogether, and relying on one’s puny effort means that one nullifies that grace.” (Morris)

“They think it noble to try to win their way to God and to heaven. But it is not noble; it is dreadfully ignoble. For, in effect, it is to deny both the nature of God and the mission of Christ. It is to refuse to let God be gracious.” (Stott)

“We despise the grace of God when we observe the Law for the purpose of being justified.” (Luther)

“If my salvation was so difficult to accomplish that it necessitated the death of Christ, then all my works, all the righteousness of the Law, are good for nothing. How can I buy for a penny what cost a million dollars?” (Luther)

“Those who intend to obtain righteousness by their own efforts do not say in so many words: ‘I am God; I am Christ.’ But it amounts to that. They usurp the divinity and office of Christ. The effect is the same as if they said, ‘I am Christ; I am a Savior. I save myself and others.’“ (Luther)

Dead to the law in what way? Jesus said he did not come to abolish the law

So you have no consciousness of sin whatsoever?
We all sin, and we all have a redeemer willing and ready, waiting for us to simply return.

Why did you remember only verse 8?

1 John 1
5 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. 6 If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth.
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.

See how foolish it looks to cherry pick that verse out to try and excuse your sins?

Do you live by the power of the Spirit or by your flesh? Does your flesh control you or the Spirit of God? IF the spirit of God controls you, as you seem to believe, why do you sin? You are proving you have no knowledge of the very work Jesus accomplished and continues to work for and within you.

What many don't seem to perceive is the fact that 'to be in Christ' means you are not only free from sin but free from the power of sin, which is the law. 1 Corinthians 15:56

So, if your soul has been freed from the power of sin, letting not sin reign in your moral body Romans 6:12, then it is because of the law of the Spirit given through Jesus Christ that we have been set free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:2

Death has no victory, no stink, sin does not reign in our mortal bodies, being released of its power to rule us by 'the law' dealing with sins and death. Our law deals with life, eternal. This is the law that Jesus minsters in the hearts of his children. And there is no 'law' against this because all the law foretold and shadowed the law of the Spirit. To be in Christ is to put to death the sins of your old nature and live by the Spirit and the law He writes upon your heart daily.

Whoever commits sin transgresses also the law given Moses. 1 John 3:4 However, the Spirit was given to all who believe to remove sin from our souls. What need of you the laws given Moses when the lawgiver (Spirit) is dwelling within you (to be in Christ), leading you into all purity and holiness? What need of you the laws dealing with sin and death written on stone when the Spirit is ministering within you, removing all your transgressions and remembering them no more? We have a better covenant, made with better promises, realized with a better relationship between God and man.

1 John 2
1 My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.
2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
12 I am writing to you, dear children, because your sins have been forgiven on account of his name.

Its not cherry picking at all, just showing you all Christians commit sin of some kind or another. Its not as simple as you like to make out. Empty words are one thing, reality is quite another. As a minister of fifty years once said:
''If we all followed after the Holy Spirit every minute of our lives we would never commit sin, the reality of which escapes us all.'' That is not trying to excuse sin, but simply being honest.

The new covenant disagrees with your assessment:

The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about this. First he says:

16 ‘This is the covenant I will make with them
after that time, says the Lord.
I will put my laws in their hearts,
and I will write them on their minds.’[b]

17 Then he adds:

‘Their sins and lawless acts
I will remember no more. Hebrews10:15-18

So let me ask you. If a Christian commits murder, adultery, theft, bears false witness, takes the Lords name in vain, would they be conscious they committed sin in your view?
Through the law we become conscious of sin Romans3:20

Its not as simple as you like to make out.
Actually, it is. The enemy though makes it seem like it's impossible. Then goes on to convince countless others that what God 'really' means is since you can't stop sinning (a lie) the law applies to you as a believer. It's simple but never easy.

John 15:3 states "You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. " See, Jesus continually spoke of and pointed out how he removes sin and forgives it. It is the focal point of the gospel. The new testament is replete with this message. His very word make people clean, through faith in it. His word, his spirit is given to us. The spirit of God is the sin eater that dwells within. It's his purpose. To clean the insides of the temple. The law was our school master doing this UNTIL the Lord transformed the ministry and remade the covenant. Now the spirit dwells within, according to the testimony of Jesus Christ.

So why do we focus on our sin as if it's hopeless to rid it UNTIL the day of death? That is a lie the devil wants you to believe because death is the final outcome of sin. He will fool you that your sin is excusable instead of fixable. He will fool you into accepting sin and death, and all the laws that deal with such. When in fact you have been cleaned and redeemed, if you would only believe. And live as Jesus lived. Full of the spirit of God.

What is sin? Transgression of the law. Who is the Spirit? And what has he accomplished in regards to sin, and death?

Sin is put to death in your mortal body by the Spirit of God when he lives in your heart.

Romans 8:11-13

13 For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live

Sin is living according to the flesh. The Spirit puts to death the sins of the body. The law does the opposite by continuously reminding you of your sins day after day. In contrast the Spirit completely removes sin.

Who's ministering in your heart, the law or the Spirit? Are you continually faced with your sins, or are you free from all sin.
Acts 13:39; Romans 6:18; Hebrews 10:17-18

1 John 2:5 This is how we know we are in him: 6 Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.

Jesus preached repentance for the forgiveness of sins. More so, he lived with the spirit of God dwelling inside him. Doing only his will, hearing only his word and following those instructions. As foretold through the law and the prophets.

Luke 24
44 He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.” 45 Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures.
46 He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, 47 and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
48 You are witnesses of these things.
49 I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”

There is the gospel. Everything written about Jesus in the Law, the prophets, the scriptures... And as he spoke to them he opened their minds to understand. That the work on the cross was about repentance for the forgiveness of sins, that leads one to be clothed with power from on high. And live just like Jesus lived.

And it's not about weather you believe me or not, it's not my message. I bare it for the one who send me.

A simple answer, a Christian in his 'right mind' would never do such things. A stumbling sick believer, sure. And we are here to help them up with and through the power of the spirit given us. We serve a living God who dwells within us. And he uses his power through us to help others. Have you not noticed that pattern in the bible? God stepping into another through faith to do His will? Is not the bible replete with this example?

Tell me, when did the apostles and/or Messiah ever point out others sins, alone, without leading them to 'immediate' healing? When did any scripture identify that the spirit dwells within you as you sin AND DOES NOTHING ABOUT it? Is not the state the spirit of God calls us to, in union with him, a state of holiness? IF this is not possible, why are we all called to it?

You do know obedience without committing sin also means obeying the law relating to the inner man? Not committing sin means on the inside as well as the outside? Just to check you understand that. You can sin in your thoughts quite easily, only I know many people who like to infer they do not commit sin, or hardly ever commit sin, but tend to go silent where law relating to th3e inner man is concerned.
Think you need to differentiate between wilfull deliberate sin and sin you will inevitably commit as you cannot faultlessly obey the law.
As to whether law exists. ''Through the law we become conscious of sin Rom3:20

So once again. Would a christian be conscious they sinned if they stole, committed adultery, murdered, bore false witness, took the Lords name in vain?

Are you saying no christian could lie, or dwell on impure thoughts, or even just once commit adultery? Please do not deflect

If a believer stole, bore false witness, coveted, committed adultery or murdered would they be conscious they sinned by doing so?

Outstanding example. What was added after the part you seem to love so much about the law? Our sin, how are they remembered no more? What connection to having the law 'in our hearts and written on our minds' does sin have? That when this happens, sin is remembered no more. Now, does that mean it's simply not recognized as we commit it? Or, as scripture shows, it's removed?

Do you think it's possible to walk blameless while in sin? This is the lie the enemy is putting forth. That as a Christian (one who contains the spirit of God dwelling within his heart and mind) can not stop sinning. As if the spirit can not teach and lead, he can't seem to do his job right. And so when you believe this you are then lead back to the law. It's when one accepts the law that I know this lie has been completely rooted in the person. They have submitted to sin in their life, both in deed and in believing lies.

AND we need to be here to help them back up. To present them to Jesus and have the spirit of God do his job. Clean us from inside out. Through the word he speaks from within. As confirmed through the law and the prophets, all of scripture.

It seems neither you or Grandpa wants to answer the question, that's ok, I can keep asking it, I'm a patient person
