Yes. At this moment in front of your eyes, matter and anti matter are being created and annihilated instantaneously.

I put the x in Xtian as a shorthand, it is even Xtian shorthand. The X represents both Christ and the cross. Surely you can't deny that?

Further even if using an x does mock Xtianity, so what? It isn't mocking Xtians, just their idea of Xtianity.

Besides, if I was to mock you, a little x wouldn't come close to the cruel things I could say. But I won't.
That's right, you won't. Because that would be stupid.

So next time an atheist says there is no evidence reply with ...
Perhaps you could reply with evidence.
Not the sort of evidence you would need to choose a good movie, but the sort of evidence that if it came from Islam, YOU would convert.

The difficulty is Kerry that a person cannot simply will themselves to believe, anymore than they can will themselves to love. Saying I can choose to believe in God is like saying I can choose to romantically fall in love with anyone you might ask me to fall in love with. I can't just choose to make it happen. This is what so many Christians don't seem to understand.

I don't know if you have ever fallen out of love, but you cannot simply will the love back, as much as you might wish you could; and if you fall out of belief in God you cannot simply will that belief to return. Believers seem to think that atheists have simply chosen not to believe in God, but it is not like that. I did not choose not to believe; I lost my belief. There is a huge difference. Once lost, love – and or belief – cannot simply be willed to return.
Hi Cycel

Long time no chat. I did not disappear just had some personal things that needed to be taken care of - car died and had to spend time getting a replacement. Thank God at this point all is well.

To respond to the above since you compared belief to a love relationship. It really is like that - in order to love someone you have to spend time with them would you not agree? How much time did you really spend with God? Only you can answer that question.

I can't tell you how many times in frustration I have talked to God about the invisibility issue and the face to face talks that I would love to have with Him. But I realize in my sinful state that if God revealed Himself I would be destroyed not because He is vengeful but because God and sin can't exist in the same space as He is a consuming fire and I have not been given a glorified body to be able to be in His presence yet. I have been forgiven and accept the sacrifice that Jesus has made for me but as of this moment my mortal has not yet put on immortality.

That is why a prayer life and reading the Bible is so important on a daily basis, because it builds that relationship with God and He is able to speak to us through His word. There are many verses that help with daily struggles that we go through and there are verses that instruct us how to live and love others to make our world a better place to live in also instructions on how to get to know God. There are promises to continue to give us hope in a world where hope is hard to come by at times.

If you don't spend time with a girlfriend and get to know her odds are the relationship will just fall by the wayside. The same is true with God if we don't take the time to get to know Him our belief can fall away. Still praying for you and others even some of the ones that have gotten banned and I miss them too. But prayers are still being said for them also. Hope all is well with you and your family in Canada. Blessings.

I believe when facing death every man knows he is facing a meeting with his maker.
I am an atheist and have faced imminent death on three occasions and on none of them did I even think about god Jesus, Allah or anyone except my family.
I have family members who have served in combat situations and they remain atheists.
The last Christian to say the foxhole line to me, became immediately fearful. I think it might be because I wanted to defend the honour of my uncles and grandfather and he interpreted the rage that showed on my face as presenting some danger to his person.
After several apologies, I let him keep trying to convert me.

Only American P.O.W. From Afghan War Is Released

Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, the lone American prisoner of war from the Afghan conflict, captured by insurgents nearly five years ago, has been released to American forces in exchange for five Taliban prisoners held at the Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, detention facility, Obama administration officials said Saturday.

Providential intervention

How do you know that Muslim families were not praying to Allah for safe return of the 5 Taliban soldiers.... is that evidence for existence of Allah?

There is no Allah. Allah doesn't exist. There is only the one true living triune creator God as revealed in the Holy Bible.

How do you know...?
Q. By your own standards...how do you know that there is no God at all?
A. You don't.

Many things in the universe are remarkable. It is remarkable that the the nucleus of an atom and a positively charged cation hold together. It is remarkable that immense stars and galaxies and galaxy clusters contain the power and structure and order that they contain.

History contains many remarkable events leading to remarkable outcomes. One was the survival and eventual freedom of Sgt. Bergdahl.

Ah Lord GOD! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm! Nothing is too difficult for You. (Jeremiah 32:17)

And the question remains "how much evidence do you want?" If thousands of sites on the internet is not enough, plus all the evidence available to your eyes in creation and what the word of God says, then it is obvious that you don't want evidence, you want an argument and the reason you want an argument is that you don't have any evidence for your claims, only speculation based on faith in nothing.

The evidence must be out there for all to see, otherwise notable atheists would not have ditched atheism and converted to christianity. Even Richard Dawkins has said he is a cultural christian, whatever that means so you are way behind the eight ball on this one.

The problem with most atheists is that they are unable to admit that they don't know and don't want to know if they can't interpret anything in terms of the natural senses. They claim that the natural senses is the only thing knowable but the fact is that most of their hypothesis is not based on the natural senses, it is based on the supposition and hypothesis of possibles.

One classic example was a professor who found a tooth in an archaeological dig and from that he constructed a model of the man who the tooth was supposed to come from, and his wife and his children and the village that the family lived in. I use that as a fairy story to tell to my grandchildren. The weirdest thing was that people actually believed him.

If that tooth is evidence for all that then a light bulb is evidence for the car it came from, the colour of the car, how many seats it had, the year it was manufactured, who made it and who has owned it.

isn't strange that we had to negotiate with terrorist to get our soldier free. When Reagan was elected as President, the terrorist immediately released the American hostages cause they were skeered.

I read things like this, and I wonder how ANYONE can possibly believe this could happen as a matter of chance. Do you atheists really know how incredibly technical the brain is?

"Is it really possible to simulate the human brain on a computer? AI researchers have been investigating that question for decades, but Japanese and German scientists have run what they say is the largest-ever simulation of brain activity using a machine. The simulation involved 1.73 billion virtual nerve cells connected by 10.4 trillion synapses and was run on Japan's K computer, which was ranked the fastest in the world in 2011.
It took the Fujitsu-built K about 40 minutes to complete a simulation of one second of neuronal network activity in real time, according to Japanese research institute RIKEN, which runs the machine.
The simulation harnessed the power of 82,944 processors on the K computer, which is now ranked fourth on the biannual international Top500 supercomputer standings (China's Tianhe-2 is the fastest now). "

One. My friend Bryan Melvin was an ardent militant atheist that had a real NDE taking his last breath and dying from cholera. He was brought back by quick thinking paramedics and after months of recuperation (though he still struggles with life long medical issues from his harrowing experience) was definitely no longer an atheist.

How is it that you know this? How many atheists have you spoken to (and received answers from) after their last breath?

I submit they are simply liars - to themselves and to those they tell that to. We have all heard the saying "there are no atheists in foxholes", well I believe that is true. I believe when facing death every man knows he is facing a meeting with his maker. People simply want to be the man in charge. They don't want to answer to anyone, or anything else. They want to believe they are the ultimate authority in their life, that they run the show. I had a thought a couple of days ago - how long would it take an atheist in a space ship, after being jettisoned out the door like so much flotsam, to call on God? That thought alone makes one feel quite insignificant.
I submit that atheists, like christians, are different people. No two are the same.

Plenty of christians are morally decent people because they get to avoid fiery torment forever and ever if they play nice, but most spend their lives wishing they could indulge in all the debauchery the rest 'get to enjoy'. Plenty of atheists are morally decent people who decide not to debauch and waylay their consciences, for no other reason than to be morally decent human beings.

You tell me, who are the ones in need of religion there?

Don't attack what you can't understand.
