I've seen many followers of Islam on the news rioting in the streets and burning things when they get offended by something, which seems to be quite often.
Is their reaction appropriate? Are they fighting for something they passionately believe in? Should Christians defend themselves with the same enthusiasm and passion?
Not a discussion about wether their beliefs or actions are justified.. More a discussion on how they are willing to stand up for their beliefs and fight back against opposition... And should all
Religious people feel so strongly
About their god being mocked
1Pe 2:21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us,
leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
1Pe 2:22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
1Pe 2:23 Who,
when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:
1Pe 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
1Pe 2:25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
2Co 10:1 Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence am base among you, but being absent am bold toward you:
2Co 10:2 But I beseech you, that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence, wherewith I think to be bold against some, which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh.
2Co 10:3 For
though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
2Co 10:4 (For
the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds)
2Co 10:5
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
2Co 10:6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.
2Co 10:7 Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? If any man trust to himself that he is Christ's, let him of himself think this again, that, as he is Christ's, even so are we Christ's.
Rom 12:17
Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
Rom 12:18
If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
Rom 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
Rom 12:20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
Rom 12:21
Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
