I think a lot of people here need to learn to love the way Christ loves. Love is the most important thing. It connects us to our fellow human beings and brings us joy and hope. God's love is perfect. Jesus Christ suffered and died on the cross to save us from our sins because of his great love.

In Corinthians 13, Paul describes godly, Christian love.

"And now I must show you the most excellent way.
If I speak in the tongues of men and angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor, and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. it always protects, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies they will cease, where there are tongues they will be stilled, where there is knowledge it will pass away. For we know in part we prophecy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror, then we shall see face to face. Now I know
in part, then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And know these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."

Jesus taught his listeners to love their enemies, which is what I think the USA needs to do with Islamic extremist terrorists and Islamic nations.

"But I tell you who hear me, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic. Give to everyone who asks, and if someone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you.

"If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that. And if you lend to those from whom you respect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, expecting to be repaid in full. But love your enemies, do good to them, lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful just as your Father is merciful."

Yes..we are to mature and grow in love, grace and mercy.....We can do all things for Christ and if we have not love....there is no profit....the motive behind our actions should be love...I fail a lot in this area...but am slowly growing in this area....

We must learn to love, so true. It is an area that I personally must work on as well. But remember, truth should never be compromised for the sake of love!

How exactly would you have the USA love the Islamic extremist terrorists and Islamic nations?

"Yes", I would enjoy reading an explicit explanation of that one. While I believe this is truly what Jesus taught, I have no idea how to accomplish it in real life.

Sad to say, we often pick pretty-sounding verses to quote from the Bible, but we seem to have not the vaguest idea how to make those memorized passages work in reality.
