Jesus’ power over all flesh.
John 17:2 and 3.… As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

Then God says in 1 John 3: 5 and 6…. And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

If Jesus has power over my flesh, and He has given me Eternal life, that means I KNOW God, and Him…It means Jesus has taken away my sins…. That means he has removed them away from me, so that I can abide in him, and in Him is no sin.

This is what I believe. Father gives certain people to Jesus. These people will be made NEW CREATURES in Christ…. Please note the important place thece people are…. THEY ARE IN CHRIST…And God says IN HIM IS NO SIN…. How can a person sin in Christ? If that person ABIDE IN CHRIST, there is no sin to do!

And one more thing, if Christ Jesus is the POWER over the flesh of the ones HE ALLOWED TO ENTER INTO HIM, how can that flesh be more powerful that the Holy Jesus Christ? God says CLEARLY… those that sin has not SEEN HIM, neither KNOWN Him… But the ones Father gave to Jesus, Jesus GIVES THE LIFE… the KNOWING GOD.

If you say you know God and sin you are mislead. If you say you are BORN AGAIN, given eternal life, and you sin, you are mislead. To know God is NOT TO SIN, and etrnal life…. Born of God, Born of Spirit, and Eternal Life, is ALL ABOUT GOD HAVING HIS PERFECT WILL DONE IN YOU….

May the Father of Jesus, also give us to Jesus, to give us this Godly Life that lasts FOREVER (Eternal)
Amen!

While your goal of having a sinless life is admirable, I see two problems with your reasoning:

1) the word translated power in John 17:2 actually means right or privilege or authority:
G1849 ἐξουσία exousia 1. privilege

So it's not that Christ automatically overpowers sin within you, but that you have been given the authority and right to master sin though Christ's spirit.

2) In the flesh we are imperfect, fallen creatures, and subsequently don't always make the right choices, which can cause us to sin.

So you have no sin because you are in Christ.
What happens when you sin?
Or do you never sin?
Are you saying if you do, it is washed away?
Or are you saying those in Christ will never sin?

By the same strange reasoning, since Jesus is God, He is omnipresent, and since I am in Him...I am everywhere! !.

Don't go reasoning like that.
It makes too much sense.

I am forgiven from my sins as if they did not happen because of the blood but I still sin although it is forgiven.

Hallo all, Pickles I say nothing I did not write the Bible, God is the one that says whomsoever is born of God sinneth not. I only believe Him. As if that is a sin also, how do I dare believe God that Jesus actually take away our sin, and in them that abide IN HIM there is also not sin.

Herosefromthedead, Whether Jesus has power authotity Godliness, Privalage or anyone or all of them, I just believe, when Jesus select a vessel and HE FILLS t that vessel is exactly like God wants it.... PERFECT. We can play with words or meanings of wirds or what the original language says.... the fact remains, If God selects a vessel and HE FILLS IT WITH HIMSELF... God is the LORD and GOD of that vessel, and that vessel will do EXACTLY like God wants it to do... He says some is for honour and some for dishonour.... althigh all claim honour... as far as I see.

Ricky why does there always have to be a BUT WHAT IF YOU SIN?,,,, do you believe this verse or not? 1 John 3:9...
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
I hate to change words and verses because I think I can do better as God gave it…. But I believe God when He says HIS BORN OF GOD CHILDREN cannot sin…. I truly believe it. There are just too many verses confirming the Goldliness of a saved person. Please Rick, it is not important what I say, what is imortant is that e know what is God’s Righteousness and not make up our own… God said…. BE PERFECT, and He would never have said it if He was not going to do it…. MAKE PERFECT I mean…. God commanded it, God will give ALL neccesary to be it… And He did….

Crossnote, Good morning… God says He has NO COMMUNION with the light, so I guess God is only omnipresent in the light….. There is a lot of dark here on earth. God was also not IN the man whom housed Legion. And also Simon the suacerer, even AFTER BAPTISM, Simon still had no God in him and he not in HIM… God is NOT in the darkness, or HE will light it up and there would be no darkness, but God said… they loved the dark,,,, not HIM. So there is still place God cannot go, without cursing all the DARK….

Clarkthompson, dream on. There is NO Scripture that support that salvation of God saving a sinner and leave him in sin…. That is the lie Satan has most success with…. If God saves a sinner, that man sinneth NO SIN! God did not come for the righteouss, he came so sinner can REPENT….. REPENT is not continual in sin, but actually STOP AND TURN AWAY….

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

"Ricky why does there always have to be a BUT WHAT IF YOU SIN?"

1 John 1:8-10 (KJV)

[SUP]8 [/SUP]If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

[SUP]9 [/SUP]If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
[SUP]10 [/SUP]If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Sin Cobus.

Ricky, I cannot keep track whom I shared this before so here goes yet again....

In these three verses Rick has qouted look at the whole SALVATION Gospel in three sentences... It is 1 John 1:8 to 10..

Verse 8....We start with the sinner... No sinner/person can say he has no sin, so he does not need God's forgiveness.... All people falls short of God's Glory, that is why He has a salvation plan.... But no person needs to STAY SHORT OF GOD'S GLORY... Jesus came to give us HIS GLORY... (John 17) That is what verse 9 is about.... God's salvation.

Verse 9... If we confess our sin... See this is what God send the Holy Spirit to do... God gives us to Jesus to LEAD US OUT OF SIN... We will not confess what we are not willing to get RID OF!!! And Jesus is the ONLY one that can remove and cleanse us from it.... that is why he will cleanse you from ALL YOUR SINS.... HE WILL NOT LEAVE ONE WITH YOU...He will give you HIS GLORY AND POWER AND HIGH CALLING..... John 17.

Verse 10.... Jesus has completed the work on you. He has REMOVED ALL SIN FROM YOU and you are now as Holy as He is Holy, as Perfect as He is perfect. Eph 4, 1 John 3, 1 john 5, Mat 5, Eph 5, Genesis to Revelation, The whole Bible is full of this.... God made you ONE WITH HIM, and HE AND JESUS NOW LIVES IN YOU.... Now people notice your HOLY LIFE, YOUR GODLY LIFE, YOUR PERFECT LIFE... THE LIFE OF GOD IN YOU, THE LIGHT OF GOD IN YOU.... They witness a HOLY MAN OF GOD, THE NEW CREATURE, made in the image of Jesus Christ ... and they ask... DO YOU EVER SIN? HAVE YOU SINNED?

Well the answer is in the verse.... IF WE SAY WE HAVE NOT SINNED ..... LOOK!!!! It is PAST TENSE.... Jesus removed ll sin and 1 John 3 and 1 John 5 says... the children of God SINNETH NOT, and CANNOT SIN.... That is why it is in the PAST TENSE.... Jesus did what God wanted Him to do.. He perfected the CHILD OF GOD.... That is why SINNED is in the past tense.... The NEW man new the old had sinned, but the NEW MAN CANNOT SIN... the NEW MAN IS THE SPIRIT AND HEART OF JESUS.... and JESUS HAS POWER OVER THAT FLESH/MAN/SOUL that he gave ETERNAL LIFE...

Eternal life is a HOLY LIFE IN GOD... That is why it is ETERNAL...

I thank God that HE is the ONE that saves and not us.... God's Salvation is perfect.... Praise the HOLY NAME OF JESUS CHRIST, for we ask FATHER LET THOU WILL BE DONE IN US AS IN HEAVEN, AMEN! Thou will is PERFECT!

Cobus, I wasnt trying to put you on the spot or debate anything, I was simply asking for clarification. :)
As some would say they no longer sin by their own actions.
And some interpit it as sin no longer in them by Jesus's sacrifice. :)

God bless :)

Pickles I know you, and you know how special you are to me. So when I adress you it is for the benefit of God's Gospel, to all who reads this.

God says many powerful things in His Word, and it will be IMPOSSIBLE for us to believe if we do not KNOW Him and what HE CAN DO....

Yes God can make a person PERFECT and without sin roght here on earth.... HE IS THE ONLY ONE THAT CAN DO THIS... all we have to be sure of is.... DOES HE WANT TOO?

Well why else would HE COMMAND THIS.... Mathhew 5:48.... Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Cobus, I know onl that recieiving and living in Jesus, is all about spirit.
For we are no longer born of flesh, but alive in spirit.
That one in Jesus dies to flesh, and is born again into His Spirit.
This is the freedom we are called to and now live in Jesus.
For spirit cannot sin.

For Jesus's sacrifice saves us, His Spirit sanctifies us.

God bless
