Again, I'm not a teacher, so don't expect this to go as a teaching. Today, I'm asking because I'd like to be more effective when evangelizing.

My entire family knows that Jesus saves. (They aren't saved.) Everyone I know knows Jesus saves. And yet, that sentence isn't hitting the mark. It's not telling people anything significant. Seatbelts save. They understand that. A life vest saves. They understand that. Jesus saves. Eyes wander to something more interesting.

So as short as you can make this, what does "Jesus saves me" mean to you. (And because I'm asking "to you," and because I'm asking for the sake of nonbelievers, please don't answer with a bunch of Bible verses. If you're evangelizing with a bunch of Bible verses out of context, you're about as ineffective as I am. lol)

A blind man can see that humanity s depraved and capable of unbelievable, human atrocity that is unparalleled in the world...even among the animals....It is also clear that humanity has a built in conscience as a divine spark the keeps many in check...BOTH are evidence that points to the validity of the bible. Humanity needs to be saved from it's own nature...even the nicest, most moral human has lied at least once in their life...We need to be redeemed and saved from the destiny of death. Jesus offers eternal life based upon acknowledgment and belief concerning who we are, who he is and what he has done.

Jesus can only save people who know they are lost. If everything is fine no one is listening or asking.

What appealed to you?

When a person In the world hears,JESUS saves,It wouldn't mean anything to them. The bible says faith comes by hearing and hearing by the WORD of GOD,but It also says,If anyone hears the WORD and don't understand It,the wicked one comes and takes away even that that he does understand.

IMO,a person has to be delivered first,If they have some kind of physical problem and then the WORD should be explained to them but Nevertheless, even If Its not explained, they would know that there Is a GOD just by the creation Itself.

And also,a person can tell when someone really cares about them and when they don't.

I know the bible says without holiness no one will see GOD,I think If they don't see holiness In the one talking to them, they won't understand and they will be confused.

So then they need to see GOD In Us.

People who do not fear the death will not react to the word "save". First, you must provoke the fear - the judgement is coming and you will die in your sins. Then, there can be the good message too,

If we start with the gospel without the judgement, there is no reason for people to take it.

It can be clearly seen in gospels and the book of Acts. First judgement, then repentence.

Jesus saves, though obviously true, has become a cliché. Make things personal. Tell people you and hubby still endure extreme challenges, but Jesus empowers you to overcome them, and give examples. Such words won't be the end-all, be-all, but they're not a cliché and could prove to be very powerful in planting seeds.

Let me try again.

I'm asking you -- so for you -- Jesus saved you from what to what? (Purpose. Not lessons in evangelizing.)

How does a person determine who is saved and not saved does a small still voice whisper in ones ear and say that person over there isn't saved and that person over here is saved. Or is it a outward appearance and action thing like if someone is struggling with sin then this must mean they are not saved. How do people understand other people's hearts and how do others see other people's hearts and know exactly what is inside of that heart and how much faith is in that heart.

if I assume that only the physical world exists, then imo I am a robot, all my thoughts and decisions are the product of randomness or determinism.

that thought makes me want to give up in despair.

now, if Jesus was dead and is now alive, then in place of being sick with despair about being a robot, I receive joy. So, Jesus saves me from a psychological sickness.

You could proclaim to them ETERNAL LIFE and how they will someday die In the flesh and what happens to the real person which Is the spirit, how we all will be raised, some to ETERNAL DAMNATION,and some to ETERNAL LIFE.

Unless you're saying don't bother talking to people about Jesus saving because they're dead, yup. I missed it. (And, if that is what you meant, I still missed it.)

Jesus saved me from being a person lost in sin without direction, into a loving,
caring individual who knows how to love and care and be vulnerable while reaching
out to others.

how do you know went someone is dead to God?
When they have not been made alive together with Christ. Dead is natural man's default setting.

Then I can only assume that Jesus let's you know who these people are that Jesus makes alive together with Him. Is this correct?
