Olsteen believes in Christ as his savior, he said it in the video. That means you and him share the same spirit. Your a christian...he's a christian. Your backbiting against your brother.

"Unity in worship does not necassarily
mean unifority in worship"....Ravi Zacharius

"A house divided against itself will not stand"....Jesus Christ

Mt 7:21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.Mt 7:22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?Mt 7:23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Not everyone that says they are christians are Christians, not all preachers are from God, however I am not saying this applies to joel, I haven't heard him that much, and I don't trust videos where we only here a small part of what is being said is given to us and this can be much misleading at times as it takes small parts out of contents of the conversation

2co 11:12But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we.2co 11:13For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.2co 11:14And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.2co 11:15Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
it is either the mormans or Jehova witnesses that say thay believe that jesus died for their sins , but teaches that jesus and satan were brothers, this is not the same, Jesus that died on the cross In the Bible.

If one can claim that both Hindus and Mormons can be saved as they are, then I would seriously have to question what he really believes about this Christ he names.

It doesn't sound much like the one who said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me."
Agreed... Osteen has denied Christ publicly on television. Sorry, I'm not gonna believe a guy who does that is saved. His fruits are rotten to the core.

I really don't want to be critical just for the sake of being critical.. I don't want to nitpick.. but did you hear the last part? Starting at 00:52 where he talks about his experience in India. Listen to that part (again). (He knows that Hindus love God.. he's seen their sincerity, etc... all in the context of the question of whether or not Jesus is the only way.)

Is not God and Jesus the same?

No one has touched on this so I will add this scripture from the Word. This is my response to those who say, it doesn't matter what you believe as long as you are sincere.

1Ki 18:26 And they took the bull that was given them, and they prepared it and called upon the name of Baal from morning until noon, saying, "O Baal, answer us!" But there was no voice, and no one answered. And they limped around the altar that they had made.
1Ki 18:27 And at noon Elijah mocked them, saying, "Cry aloud, for he is a god. Either he is musing, or he is relieving himself, or he is on a journey, or perhaps he is asleep and must be awakened."
1Ki 18:28 And they cried aloud and cut themselves after their custom with swords and lances, until the blood gushed out upon them.
1Ki 18:29 And as midday passed, they raved on until the time of the offering of the oblation, but there was no voice. No one answered; no one paid attention.

These prophets of Baal were very very sincere. They danced, they cried out, they even got to the point where they cut themselves for their god.

Don't you need to be in an agreement/ contract with God? Joel Olsteen thinks there might be a back way in. Good people Don't go to heaven, forgiven people do.

Matthew 7:14 *Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

John 10:1 *¶Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.

John 10:7 *Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
Not a door. THE door.

As far as I know there was only the law of sin and death where you had to do and live and pay with the blood of animals and the law of grace where you had to believe in Jesus's saving power and live and rely on His blood to save you.

Law always has a place and work distinct and wholly diverse from that of grace. Law is God prohibiting and requiring; grace is God beseeching and bestowing. Law is a ministry of condemnation; grace, of forgiveness. Law curses; grace redeems from that curse. Law kills; grace makes alive. Law shuts every mouth before God; grace opens every mouth to praise Him. Law puts a great and guilty distance between man and God; grace makes guilty man nigh to God. Law says, "An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth"; grace says, "Resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also." Law says, "Hate thine enemy"; grace says, "Love your enemies, bless them that despitefully use you." Law says, do and live; grace says, believe and live. Law never had a missionary; grace is to be preached to every creature. Law utterly condemns the best man; grace freely justifies the worst (Luke 23:43; Rom. 5:8; ! Tim 1:15; 1 Cor. 6:9-11). Law is a system of probation; grace, of favor. Law stones an adulteress; grace says, "Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more." Under law the sheep dies for the shepherd: under grace the Shepherd dies for the sheep.

I didn't know Joel Olsteen was even considered evangelical. He even says that he leaves theology for other people, more qualified than himself to teach. Makes me wonder what he believes his purpose in the pulpit is. The last time I bothered watching him on TV (I lasted 5 minutes), I had flash backs of a Junior High pep rally featuring some vanilla, motivational speaker.

I see this fella on TV sometimes on the Christian channel. He rarely mentions God and rarely quotes from the bible. I don't know what his game is but he's suspicious.
Funny but true

What a man stands for and preaches is his measure not just saying he believes. To understand
biblical jusdgement.
1 we are to judge everything that we CAN KNOW.
2 We cant or we are not to judge what we DONT KNOW.

So dont say we are judging a mans when he is out in public representing the gospel. We have both
the right and command to do so!! And IF they are greatly wrong in commision or ommision in presenting
the gospel truthfully or correctly...they are to be marked so people will stay away from them.

I'd say you should treat it just the same as if she said "I believe everything that comes out of buhda's mouth or muhamed's mouth"....with respect and guiding her to the truth in love. Now I'm not saying you had some bad things to say in this thread but some post border on slanderous, calling him wimpy, afraid, driving the nation down. Relaying good information to fellow chistians is good, especially if it's concerning an influential preacher that wont proclaim Romans 10:9, but lets not sound like a bunch of old women running someone down in a hair salon. The only reason I started objecting was because my first take when reading this thread was gossip. Another member posted the same thing and if two people got that impresion then probably others will also, regardless if it is gossip or not. We certainlly dont want to be viewed as gossipers. Thats my point, Im done writing here. Sorry if I offended you, it was only meant in love.-------Derek
So... Quit gossipping about old women in hair salons and judging them.

Good grief.

You know most of those people like Joel Osteen are getting rich off all the poor suckers who give all of their money thinking that they'll live better lives. These "men of god" live in mansions, the life of luxury, sipping their martinis. Hypocrisy at its finest.

You know he has the biggest church in America, don't you? He bought a stadium (literally) to house them all.

Well.... you don't get the biggest church in America by rocking people's boat.

(In other words, you don't get the biggest church by teaching all of the word of God!) :)

Of course, he inherited that church from his Dad. He certainly did not build it.

However, to be fair, one must consider Revelation 20:12, 13.

Actually, no one goes to heaven.
Revelation 21

As far as I know there was only the law of sin and death where you had to do and live and pay with the blood of animals and the law of grace where you had to believe in Jesus's saving power and live and rely on His blood to save you.
The law identifies sin 1 John 3:4.
Torah means "instruction." 2 Timothy 3:14-17
The only Scripture Timothy could have studied from his youth is the Law. The Law is the instruction for righteous living. Grace allows us to be free from the punishment of the Law. We should live in obedience to it, knowing we have grace.

The Law is a light. Proverbs 6:23.
I delight in the Law. Psalm 112:1, Psalm 119:35, 47, 143.

You are saved by faith, but the Law is the instruction for righteousness. For example, yesterday was the beginning of one the most important festivals on YHVH's calendar. Failing to observe it means you do not understand how the festivals relate to the Messiah. And, you are disobeying YHVH by not observing HIS festivals. Leviticus 23...

They are NOT Jewish feasts. They are HIS feasts.

You are willing to celebrate Easter and Christmas, two COMPLETELY UNBIBLICAL holdiays. But, the festivals YHVH ordains, you ignore. You might want to reconsider your Hebrew roots. Google Eddie Chumney, Jim Staley, and the Complete Jewish Bible.

It's time for meat...
