The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.”

‭‭Luke‬ ‭16:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men? answer me.”

‭‭Mark‬ ‭11:30‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.”

‭‭Malachi‬ ‭4:5-6‬ ‭KJV‬

“But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.

For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb.

And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God. And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying, Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people, And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;

As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:……

..And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways; To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins,

Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us, To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.

And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his shewing unto Israel.”

‭‭Luke‬ ‭1:13-17, 67-80‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;

As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.

The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins.

And John was clothed with camel's hair, and with a girdle of a skin about his loins; and he did eat locusts and wild honey;

And preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose.

I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost. And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.

And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him: And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

‭‭Mark‬ ‭1:1-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Then said they unto him, Who art thou? ( to John ) that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself? He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Isaiah .

And they which were sent were of the Pharisees. And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?

John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not; he it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose.

These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing. The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me. And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.”

‭‭John‬ ‭1:22-31‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. …Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

That which is born of the flesh is flesh;

and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.”

‭‭John‬ ‭3:3, 5-6‬ ‭

“And as they departed, Jesus began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see?….. A prophet? yea, I say unto you, and more than a prophet. For this is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, Which shall prepare thy way before thee. ( Malachi 3:1)

…And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.

And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was for to come. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11:7-15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

the final verses of the prophets promise Elijah will come before the lord

“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.”

and the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it. The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field: the grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass. The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭40:1, 3-8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

“For All flesh is as grass, And all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. “And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭1:22-25‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24:35‬ ‭KJV‬‬

John was the water, just like how Elijah was the water and Elisha was the blood.Elisha was the foreshadowing of Jesus.
The cloak of Elijah is the temple veil. The temple veil is the word of God.The staff, signet ring, cup bearer, the cloak, they are gifts and are present on the physical Ark of the covenant. They are given to the 144,000 as first fruits and then to all who are his. They should be on our bodies as well but I don't know them all.

thanks for sharing your thoughts ! There are a lot of figures that speak To us

“And the same John had his raiment of camel's hair,

and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey.”

“And they answered him, He was an hairy man,

and girt with a girdle of leather about his loins.

And he said, It is Elijah the Tishbite.”

If you look at the Ark of the Covenant it all points to the word of God.And his word shall not pass.
Who’s word ? Moses word ? Or Christs word ?

“Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech: and not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:

but their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ. But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.

Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭3:12-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Is it Moses word that never passed away or Christs word ?

“Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth ( moses word exodus 21:23-25)

but I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:38-39‬ ‭KJV‬‬

which of those words is eternal ? What Moses said or what Christ said ?

“And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.”
‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭20:10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“they say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?

So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.”
‭‭John‬ ‭8:4-5, 7, 9-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

do you see how the old isn’t the same ?

“Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven;

but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.”
‭‭John‬ ‭6:32‬ ‭KJV‬‬

John 1: 15 John bore witness of Him, and cried, saying, This was He of whom I spoke, He that cometh after me is preferred before me; for He was before me.
John the Baptist was sent by God to bear witness of the Christ. He was sent to identify the Christ. In Acts 1: 20 he tells the priests and Levites that he is not the Christ.
John 1: 23 He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet, Isaiah.
That is in Isaiah 40: 3,5 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it. The glory of the Lord is the Father's Holy Spirit in Christ which was revealed when it descended on Jesus for John to bear witness.
John 1: 25 And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elijah, neither that prophet?
Those sent by the Pharisees were expecting the Christ to do the baptizing, not John.
John 1: 26 John answered them, saying, I baptize with water; but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not.
John is telling them that no one knows who the Christ is but that he was told to baptize with water and the Christ will be made known to him and Israel.
John 1: 31 And I knew Him not ; but that He should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.
Even John did not know who the Christ was, but was told by God that the Christ would be one of the people coming to get water baptized by him.
John 1: 32-33 And John bore witness, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon Him. And I knew Him not; but He that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, the same is He who baptizeth with the Holy Spirit.
In John's vision he sees the Spirit descending upon the Christ but was not able to recognize Him. God tells John that the Christ will be made known to him when he actually sees the Spirit descending and remaining on Him. The Christ is going to be doing the baptizing, but with the Holy Spirit (not water).
Matt 3: 11 I, indeed, baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear; He shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit, and with fire;
Again, it is Christ who will be doing the baptizing with the Holy Spirit ( not water). Also, the baptism with water is unto repentance. That means achieving or demonstrating repentance for the forgiveness of sins.
Acts 11: 15-16 And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them, as on us at the beginning. Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how He said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit.
Acts 10: 44 While Peter yet spoke these words, the Holy Spirit fell on them who heard the word.

The Holy Spirit actually fell on them after Peter preached Jesus to them as in Acts 10: 38-44, not as in Peter's discription of the event to the Christian Jews in Acts 11: 15 which seems to indicate that the Holy Spirit fell on them just as Peter started to speak. Since it is Christ who does the baptizing, they were baptized in the name of the Son and in the name of the Holy Spirit. Those that receive the Holy Spirit of the Father by the Son are baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Christian Jews of the time at first believed that Gentiles were not included in salvation through Jesus Christ, that Christian Gentiles had to be circumcized, where and how to worship, that Gentiles had to obey the Jewish Laws and rituals including the belief that being baptized with water while confessing your sins and repenting, resulted in the forgiveness or remission of sins. That is probably why Jews came from all over to get baptized by John. This belief is contrary to salvation through belief in Christ and is promulgated even now.
John 1: 34 And I saw, and bore witness that this is the Son of God.
John baptized with water to symbolize repentance for sins ( they called out their sins and their repentance ) and the cleansing of these sins (symbolized by water which cleanses physically but not spiritually). That is why Jews from all around the Jordan came to get baptized by him. John tells the people that he is baptizing with water because he was told by God to do so in order to attract repentant sinners and to be able to identify the Christ who is the Son of God. Throughout Jewish history, when the people of Israel wandered away from God, calamity befell them. When they repented and changed their ways, God forgave them and blessed them with good fortune. Just like water is used to cleanse, it is used symbolically to cleanse sins through repentance.

Ezek 36: 25-27 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean; from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep mine ordinances, and do them.
What God said that He was going to do to Israel, He is doing now to Jews and Gentiles. He cleanses us through the blood of Jesus, and perfects us by filling us with His Spirit who fills our hearts with divine love for God and everyone else. When all our thoughts and actions are motivated by love, we are obeying the Spirit of the Law. Sprinkling clean water is obviously not literal since literal water will not clean them from their idols. Sprinkling of water was symbolic of cleansing of sins which He does now through Jesus Christ.
John 1: 35,36, 29, 40,41 Again the next day John stood, and two of his disciples; And, looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God, who taketh away the sin of the world. One of the two who heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother. He first findeth his own brother, Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messiah, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.
Again, the whole purposeof John's water baptism was to identify the Christ ( which he did) when the Holy Spirit descended and remained on Jesus. It was after Jesus had been baptized in the name of the Holy Spirit that He started His ministry by preaching repentance , revealing truth, and performing miracles.
Matt 3: 5-6 Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round the Jordan, and were baptized by him in the Jordan, confessing their sins.Messiah, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.
Throughout Jewish history, when the people of Israel wandered away from God, calamity befell them. When they repented and changed their ways, God forgave them and blessed them with good fortune. Just like water is used to cleanse, it is used symbolically to cleanse sins through repentance. The infinitive " to repent " means " to change one's mind with regard to past ( or intended) action, or conduct, on account of regret or dissatisfaction", or " to feel regret , contrition, or compunction for what one has done or omitted to do".
Acts 5: 31 Him hath God exalted with His right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.
It is God the Father who exalts, grants repentance, and forgives sins.
Rom 2: 4-5 Or despiseth thou the riches of His goodness and forbearance and long-suffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the the righteous judgement of God
It is God who grants the repentance that leads to salvation. It is His Holy Spirit that softens our hearts and fills it with love for God and man.
Matt 3: 13-15 Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to the Jordan unto John, to be baptized by him. But John forbade Him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? And Jesus answering said unto him, Permit it to be so now; for thus it becometh us to fulfill all righteousness. Then he consented to Him. To fulfill all righteousness means to obey the Father's will which is for John to baptize Him with water so John can identify Him as the Christ. Another theory is that according to Isaiah 53: 12 where it says that the Christ was going to be numbered with the transgressors, Jesus was identifying himself with sinners.
Acts 10: 36-37 The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ (He is Lord of all), That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached; How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit, and with power; who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil, for God was with Him.

Peace by Jesus the Christ was both preached and published throughout all Judea and began after John's witness of Jesus as the Christ. It was there that God anointed Jesus with His Holy Spirit.
2 Cor 5: 21 For He hath made Him, who knew no sin, to be sin for us, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.
Gal 5: 14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word (saying), even ( that is) in this: Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

Christ took on our punishment for our sins which resulted in life being owed to Him in the Father's perfect kingdom of Justice and Mercy. This life is given to a predetermined number of people in the time line of humanity who believe on the Father's plan of salvation through Jesus Christ and make up a Spiritual body ( those who have received the Holy Spirit ) of which Christ is the head. As part of Christ's spiritual body, we are in Him ( His body ) and we become adopted children of God. We are perfected by the Holy Spirit who fills our hearts with love which becomes the motivation for everything we think and do (which fulfills the Spirit of the Law given by Jesus ( to love God first and everyone else second ) and thus we become obedient).
Luke 3: 3 And he came into all the country about the Jordan, preaching the (water) baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
John's baptism of repentance was the same as the Jewish ritual of cleansing of sins with water by declaring their sins and repenting. The baptism that he was promoting was the baptism that is performed by Jesus Christ ( not people) which is with the Holy Spirit (not water).

thanks for the post

Luke 3: 3 And he came into all the country about the Jordan, preaching the (water) baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
John's baptism of repentance was the same as the Jewish ritual of cleansing of sins with water by declaring their sins and repenting. The baptism that he was promoting was the baptism that is performed by Jesus Christ ( not people) which is with the Holy Spirit (not water).”

Johns baptism was established because God sent John the baptizer to baptize for repentance and remission of sins follow the plain straight line

“There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.”
‭‭John‬ ‭1:6-7‬ ‭

The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God; As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, Which shall prepare thy way before thee.( Malachi 3:1)

The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, Make his paths straight.( Isaiah 40:3-8 )

John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭1:1-4‬ ‭

thats before Jesus began preaching the gospel , so John said this to those getting baptized for remission of sins by the man God sent to baptize and call to repentance

“I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭3:11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

John said that before Jesus came forth and announced himself and began to preach the gospel

“Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand:

repent ye,

and believe the gospel.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭1:14-15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It’s important to know as Jesus began to preach just as John was being imprisoned he was preaching to these folks who all did this

“And there went out unto him all the land of Judæa, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭1:5‬ ‭

John was saying “ I baptize you with water for repentance and remission of sins , but Jesus is going to give you the spirit “

Jesus began to say this

“Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”
‭‭John‬ ‭3:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

john talks of “baptism “ of water and spirit Jesus speaks of “birth” of water and spirit

After jesus died and rose he explains what John said is about to be fulfilled just before pentocost

“and, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judæa, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭1:4-5, 8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Then shortly after you see johns words fulfilled as the receive the promise gift of the holy ghost and begin to speak wisdom

“And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judæa, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words: For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day. But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, And your young men shall see visions, And your old men shall dream dreams: And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:1-4, 14-18, 21‬

Immediately we see baptism of repentance for remission of sins just like all the people did beforehand and now no one needs to say “ later someone else will come and give you the spirit “

“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, ( johns baptism mark chapter 1)

and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.( what John was talking about )

Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:38, 41‬ ‭KJV‬‬

baotism has never changed it has been completed when Jesus fuflilled the promise he made to give the spirit freely to believers of the gospel like this John spoke before this was possible because Jesus hadn’t sent the spirit yet

“To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins. While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. ( they have now been baptized in the spirit ) And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. ( just like pentocost ) .

( the Jews had already been we’re baptized for remission the gentiles hadn’t yet )

Then answered Peter, Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭10:43-48‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The only baptism the church is taught to do comes from John , what he said is something Jesus does for believers in him

again to say “water baptism “ is to say “ baptism “ there’s one baptism and the. There is receiving the holy ghost from Jesus

“And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭8:36-38‬ ‭KJV‬‬

the church is taught to baptize for the reason John baptized the way John baptized , Jesus giving the Holy Ghost has nothing to do with what we do regarding repenting and getting baptized for remission of sins that’s simply what gods word says to do is

believe the gospel ( receive the spirit )

And get baptized ( repentance and remission of sins )

This is the doctrine for all the church of all nations

“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you:

and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28:18-20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

He’s telling them to go baptize in his name , to go offer repentance and remission of sins in his name like peter did in acts 2:38 through baptism

Like Philip did when the eunuch believed

Like every believer would gladly do if they believed what the word says about baptism for repentance and remission of sins , and No one then explained what isn’t on the Bible and said that’s the actual truth

John spoke before Jesus gave the holy ghost the message is no longer “ I baptize with water and he will later give you the spirit “

It’s just this

And we either believe it and share it or we explain why it’s not true or we explain why it doesn’t mean what it says

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;

but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The thing about that statement is Jesus said it and it’s plain baptism has already been well established at the beginning of the gospel and now the risen lord is establishing it for the world the offer of remission of our sins in his death by one act of believing what we hear

faith is when we hear something true of God and believe it , when we hear it and then Reject it it doesn’t help us

we could say baptism isnt what the Bible says it is and reject it

air we could hear what the Bible says baptism is for and embrace it and partake because we believe the lords word that if we believe the gospel and get baptized in his name we’ll be saved
