Christmas, Halloween, Easter with bunnies, etc. have little if not nothing to do with the Word. Most of these are derived from formerly pagan feast days, and they were incorporated into the RCC in order to gain as many members and keep them as possible from the heathen converts.

Most people today have no idea of pagan origins, except perhaps for Halloween, which never made any sense whatsoever to me. They are celebrated mostly because of their chidren. Those who believe Yeshua and observe these days as being special in the sight of Yahweh, and they do it with a clear conscience are not sinning against the Father.
Who here would throw anyone in the lake of fire for being mistaken, not that anyone here does have that authority?

Except for special days mentioned in the Word, I find most so called holidays silly if not just downright repugnant, but I cannot condemn anyone for following the traditions of man, as long as they have no evil intent.

There are far more important issues for believers to foment among the non-believer than the false notions of men concerning these holidays. What next, burning trick-or-treaters at the stake?

Halloween I always associated with nothing, Christmas as a day to commemorate the birth of our Savior, and Easter as the day of glory when our Savior was the First. Now that I know a few things that I did not, I cannot, and would not condmen those who do not know any better, not that I think anyone here would either.

Yahweh bless all in Yeshua, our Salvation.............

i do agree with you on the rcc origins to many of these holidays i only consider my self "christian" though at times i post links from other mainstream religions if i do though i usually try to stress that i myself would suggest any would only take the information and then do further research here is a link from the catholic "new advent" where they are providing the imfo. as you point out as to the origins and why. it does seem as you stated that over the years they just seemed to think a holiday should be there so they worked with it till they established it. CATHOLIC ENCYCLOPEDIA: Christmas

there are other www. site that have what they refer to as "early church father letters",,,i find that i am at times skeptical of the letters written after the formation of the rcc 300ad and after. the letters from their back to the first church seem i think to approach things a little different. my fascination with any of these early letters came years ago when i came across the letters of ignatious, polycarpus, iranious ect.

i had heard so many different ideas of (modern day preachers) one would say "i think the harlot is this" another "i think it is that",the same about the holidays,,but anyway it made me wonder if any of these early church members wrote anything about it. i not sure if you are familiar with ignatious, polycarpus ect. but if not it is well documented that they were both personal friends with the apostle john, they were men who were taught by john.

in the fragments of iranious(a student of polycarpus) iranious wrote that polycarpus went to Rome and while there there was a discussion about the Eucharist(here is the link) to these fragments CHURCH FATHERS: Fragments (Irenaeus) i found it very interesting the early church view of the Easter/Eucharist you will find the discussion in #3,and #37 of these fragments in #3 the church was it seems at odds as to how to preform this but polycarp held that he was going to continue to preform it as he was taught by the apostles,,,in #37 iranious who was a student of polycarp give a description of this that it was spiritual and (each and every time they ate or drank) not just once per year, that the earth obeying god gave this every time we ate or drank.

well i as i said was curious as to how much difference there was between the way we believe in 2013 in aspect to the way they believed in the 1st and 2nd gen church,,,but the difference i think is in that polycarpus and ignatious (actually knew the apostles) so there chances of misunderstanding were far less that us in the modern day trying to figure out what is meant in certain scriptures.,,,

christmas was a little harder for me to find i looked and looked through the early letter ad100 to ad300 but could find no mention of it other than that a few mention that the christians nor Jews celebrated birthdays and one mentioned that only the sinner celebrated their birthday's,,,then it dawned on me (and my face turned red, lol) that i wasn't going to find it in the early letters that is they did not discuss it because it was not invented until after they died around 350-400ad,,,,it is in the link at the top of the letter,,,,
