How is this so? Is a wife attractive to her husband? I would assume so, but this feeling of attraction did not start at the consummation of the marriage; these feelings were present before marriage. Finding someone attractive is not a sin.
Yeah, there's a clear difference for me, between finding someone attractive, and lustfully keeping them in your mind.......im sure anyone else who's single would admit, they're on the look out for an attractive potential other half....generally we know, and will hopefully repent if our thoughts become sinful

To deny the flesh is a discipline for sure. We are meant to be attracted to each other but how we pursue that attraction is what defines the clear line between biblical courtship and secular dating.

but finding someone cute is not lust if no lustful thought accompany it
I agree. A friend of mine stated that there’s nothing wrong with looking at someone’s face.

You might want to be careful when looking at someone’s eyes, though:

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the pride of life, is not of the Father but is of the world. 1 John 2:16 RSV

I would say it comes to a matter of conviction. If the reason you are looking at the opposite sex is a desire of the flesh you will be convicted in it. However, if you are seeking something spriitually there will be a distinct difference in where and how you are looking.

Hi, Without using detail, let me just say plainly that I'm struggling hard with lust. It has been a recurring issue since I first got saved three years ago. Lately, has been defeat after defeat. I installed Safeeyes on my computer, read books, and met with my pastor, but still i seem to inevitably fall back into this sin. This is a huge issue in my life and I feel it is severely stunting if not stopping my growth in Christ. My name is Luke, I need prayer and some helpful advice thanks all

This is so ridiculous. Why would god create humans, to go and populate the earth, give us chemicals and hormones in our body to do that very thing, then ask you to deny those urges. If that is not cruel, I have no idea what is. Im not saying its ok to lust after people, but its a fairly ridiculous notion to say what is natural and human in you is bad and to be ignored. This type of thinking can send people into the most unhealthiest ways of viewing themselves and their sexuality. For petes sake if there was no lust on this earth, no-one would marry and procreate.

Sometimes I seriously cannot understand some of the level of thinking on this site. It is so backwards and harmful, its scary.
I am an advocate for being pure and keeping yourself for your partner, but my goodness god is asking you to fight something he put in place supposedly in the very first place. It is a natural human urge. Why? because men and women have levels of testoterone and estrogen in their bodies. duh...I am no longer going to feel shameful about something in my body I never put there in the first place. It does not mean I will go lusting after every male I see either. But I will recognise it as a normal human function. sheesh.

Until we admit to God we are plagued with the sinful nature, that we are empty, evil, and seek only pleasure and go into our search for the Holy Spirit with mourning, nothing will change. And going to church singing songs thinking that that

ASK FOR A NEW NATURE - heaven is now, if u want it bad!

ONE CANNOT GO ON SINNING ONCE they are in Christ... MOST PEOPLE ARE NOT IN CHRIST because they have YET to ask for the HOLY SPIRIT and they assume their own self righteous spirit is the HOLY SPIRIT. PREPOSTEROUS.

ONE MUST SUFFER before inheriting it.... ASKING MUCH.. FASTING.. and reading the GOSPEL diligently as they resist temptation.

DO not look to the sky, heaven does not come with careful observation, its within you.. NOW! NOT LATER.. NOW.

We are natural pleasure seekers equating pleasure with all things good; hence equating God to pleasure which is a huge mistake. Most can

Jesus told us not to look lustfully at each other. We can figure out why later.

Jesus is only interested in our well-being. To disobey him leads to trouble. I’ve been there.
