From my understanding, there will definitely be relationships in heaven. There will be no marriage because marriage is a contract in the eyes of God that is in effect until one of the parties dies. In heaven there will be no death so this type of relationship will go by a different name. Yes, a husband and wife will still know each other. No, they will not be married but it seems entirely possible that they could enter into some sort of arrangement. I did not listen to the audio but only offer my own perspective.

Dear brothers and sisters,

What´s your view (Biblically speaking) about what this fellow brother (pastor) answered about these questions:

- Will a husband and a wife know each other when they go to Heaven?
- Will they still be married?

Will a husband and wife know each other in heaven? (Audio) | Bible Question Archive | Amazing Facts

God bless you!

People will give you the verses below and give their own interpretation. However, no one si sure which one is correct. Ephesians concluded the issue as, "This is a profound mystery....."

1Thes 4: 14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.

Matt22:29 Jesus replied, “You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God.
30 At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.

Luke 20:34-36

And Jesus said to them, “The sons of this age marry and are given in marriage, but those who are considered worthy to attain to that age and to the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage, for they cannot die anymore, because they are equal to angels and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.

Romans 7:2
For a married woman is bound by law to her husband while
he lives, but if her husband dies she is released from the law of marriage.

The logic is, how does one treat someone as a wife or a husband in heaven when everyone is supposed to love everybody equally?

Have you not heard of the "bride of Christ"? The best marriage on earth is only a foretaste of the oneness of Christ and his church. He will be our main focus (at least mine!)

The best possible arrangement my husband and I might have will be standing next to each other as we worship. I'm sure there will be a recognized sharing of our life here, but it will most likely fade as we are caught up looking at the glory of God.

[SUP]23 [/SUP]The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him,
[SUP]24 [/SUP]Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
[SUP]25 [/SUP]Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:
[SUP]26 [/SUP]Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.
[SUP]27 [/SUP]And last of all the woman died also.
[SUP]28 [/SUP]Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.
[SUP]29 [/SUP]Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
[SUP]30 [/SUP]For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven(Matthew 22:23-30).

Jesus said that in heaven there is no marriage, and a man and a woman will not be married, but be like the angels.

This is because the only thing that separates a man and a woman is the flesh, the spirit and soul are the same. When they put off the flesh and have a spiritual body there is no gender between them but they are the same just like the angels.

Angels have no gender and there is no female names, and the only reason they have a male, masculine name,is because they are stronger and greater than people.

I do not believe God has a gender but He is referred to as a He,masculine pronoun, and a masculine name, because He is the greatest of all.

There is no gender in heaven for all people whether they were male or female are the same, and all angels are the same.Once the saints put off the flesh and have a spiritual body they are the same with no difference between them.

Personally ( and I admit I may be wrong), what I understand from Matthew 22:30 is that since there won´t be loneliness, need for procreation, etc, in Heaven, "earthly" marriages types won´t be needed. However, I think a husband and a wife will recognize each other, and will be able to have a relationship that will be closer between themselves, than others. They can be still husband and wife without "earthly necessities", praising the Lord as being "like angels" and enjoying all the love, peace and light...living in perfect harmony with all brothers/sisters, angels and God.
