How can we judge what you said? Was it meant for good or not for good?

I mean isn't it clear that it was meant to offend? Are you free to speak like that? Really?

I don't think it's true that everyone has the same sense of humor
And yes I know it wasn't you who said that

Hebrews 5:
[SUP][SUP]11 [/SUP]Concerning him we have much to say, and it is hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing. [SUP]12 [/SUP]For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you have need again for someone to teach you the elementary principles of the oracles of God, and you have come to need milk and not solid food. [SUP]13 [/SUP]For everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the word of righteousness, for he is an infant. [SUP]14 [/SUP]But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil.

Are you still drinking milk? Or discerning good and evil?
[/SUP]
Does chocolate almond milk count as milk? That's really the only kind of milk I drink. Haven't for quite some time actually. So I guess my answer would be solid food?

To be honest I prefer the milk more than the meat. But HE's the LORD and HE gives as HE purposes

Being a baby was so much better

Actually the verse says solid food not meat, so why are people bringing in meat into the picture?

Vegetables and breads and grains are solid food. Too much meat is bad for us.

As for me i eat solid food most of the time.

Chocolate almond milk is even a thing? I didn't know that. If I have to have a fake milk, I much prefer rice milk to almond milk. But I enjoy almond tea. Go figure.

[h=2]Re: Milk or Solid food?[/h]i suppose this is a question that each believer should constantly ask in order to access his/her spiritual growth; to find out if they are still feeding on milk or have gone on to feed on strong meat. but in order to be able to do this accession, the believer has to first of all know what milk is and solid food is in the Word of God. the milk of the word is when the believer's knowledge of Christ is only based on the synoptic gospels( eye witness account of the 12). in other words if what you know about Christ is only drawn from the OT and the synoptic gospels; then you are still feeding on meal. But when you get your understanding of Christ according to the revelation of the mysteries, then you are beginning to grow up to maturity. There is a mass difference between knowing Christ according to the flesh( according to his early ministry 2000yrs ago) and knowing Christ according to the revelation of the mystery- which is Christ in you the hope of glory. in other words, Christ after His resurrection, now lives in the believer and the believer in Christ- a mutual exchange of lives. Christ was made our sin to the end that we may be made the righteousness of God in Him.

My stepfather actually gets really upset with the fact it's called milk. He goes on to say that it's almond juice, and that milk "comes from a cow. Moo!".

Judging... hmmm... We judge others frequently. I judge as unwise the guy who consistently drives 20 mph over the limit, even in poor weather. I judge him as dangerous when he passes me on the right. I judge as kind the lady at the grocery store who always smiles and says 'Hello'. I judge as prickly the person who makes unnecessary negative comments. Am I judging anyone on here? No, but I am noticing that someone seems to be perceiving judgment. We all do it. Most of us just don't share our judgments openly. Jesus didn't say simply, "Don't judge." Rather, He says, "Make a right judgment."

Now to milk and solid food... I have heard this passage preached badly many times, usually by someone who has an inflated idea of their own understanding. We all learn at different rates, and attend churches with a wide variety of emphases. Ultimately, only God gets to judge who is consuming milk and who is consuming solid food. As for the rest of us, we would do well to encourage one another, and not criticize another's faith; to his (or her) own Master he (or she) answers.

Regarding the passage specifically, I would suggest that what is presented in Heb. 6:1-2 is the milk, because these are described as 'foundational' in v. 2.

I'm pretty sure most English translations say meat, not solid food. That would be why people are bringing meat into the picture.

Mean? So the guys joke was responded to with a joke. Im not altogether sure how that is mean. You judging me?
I wasn't joking. Tintins response worded pretty much what I said, meat in some parts of my life, milk in others. I'm moving forward but I wouldn't call myself mature.

moving forward is maturing, the willingness to move beyond the elementary teachings is beginning the maturation process. and it IS a process. when that holy fire comes in spirit ( let the reader understand) its not an easy or fun thing but what is left afterward God will exalt and use for His glory. press on bro

2 Peter 2:1-3
Therefore, putting aside all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander, [SUP]2 [/SUP]like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation, [SUP]3 [/SUP]if you have tasted the kindness of the Lord.

1 Corinthians 3:1-3
And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual men, but as to men of flesh, as to infants in Christ. [SUP]2[/SUP]I gave you milk to drink, not solid food; for you were not yet able to receive it. Indeed, even now you are not yet able,[SUP]3 [/SUP]for you are still fleshly. For since there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not fleshly, and are you not walking like mere men?

Solid food has to do with being Mature in the Lord.

Milk is the pure Word of God. Also means a new Born Again Christian.

I'd say that I'm definitely eating meat in some parts of my life, but that there are still a few areas where I'm drinking milk.
Yes, I have also found it takes quite some time to get away from "being fed" rules and rituals by preachers, and learning to live by knowing and trusting Jesus' influence in your heart.

The trap for me was being convinced that learning and perfecting the mimicking of laws and rules was meat..... when it was really just getting me used to a comfortable diet of milk. Kind of like learning to recite your ABC's or being able to memorize your multiplication tables, thinking that you were then a "true" writer or mathematician.

When, in effect, doing those things only gives us the basics, the milk. It takes stepping out in pure, unsure, scary faith, trusting not in our own practiced and perfected performances in the feeling of the mental and emotional safety of rehearsed rituals, but solely in nothing more than something Jesus told us He did 2,000 years ago to understand "meat".

Maybe a better question could be, are you hearing meat or milk?

always welcome. theres alot of doctrine that gets argued here, people should not let that discourage them. when its all said and done. Jesus is all about a relationship betwen Himself, the individual and God the Father. always remember that a person is only accountable for what they themselves understand. some of us are just beginning, others have been at it for years and years, God is so merciful, understands every weakness and strength, knows what we know, our motives and heart individually. no one can judge another that honor belongs to the very one who suffered and died to be worthy of it. God bless you bro
