Our salvation is immediate. Our walk with Christ, sanctification, is life long. We will stumble along the way but God pities us like a Father pities His children. Growing takes time and a proper diet. Feast upon the word of God. Fill yourself with Gods word and associate yourself with believers of like mind.

We walk with our Savior we do not run ahead of Him. Time spent waiting on God is not wasted time.

For the cause of Christ

Hm, that's pretty good..we are like children to Him. And children don't know much and we teach them. Well, at least I hope God sees me as a child instead of an adult... :p

Haha, I wish!! That IS the question, why doesn't God just make us like Him when we start deciding to be a follower of Christ? It'd be so evident that we are His sons and daughters. I know we can now..but I wish it was all the time that we act like Him.
It has to do with Him being glorified in our weakness...

2 Corinthians 12:8-10 For this thing I besought the Lord three times, that it might depart from me.
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

God forgives our past sin and while we are in Jesus he does not see the past sin, but we still sin. Jesus raised the bar with sin, now it is a sin to just thinking wrongly about someone or something. How aer we supposed to be free of that? We are not.

You are partly suffering from Satans Double Whammy , as I like to call it. We sin, do something that is not right, that is sin from satan, then we get the thoughts put in our head by "Satan", Satan is not God and can not be everywhere at once and not many people will encounter Satan, but instead we have demons to do his work, anyway, this results in the thoughts put in our head,

"I am disgusting to God, God hates me for Sin, Why has God not let me stop sinning, God must not like me much, Am I really saved, Am I really a Christian, God really does hate me for doing this, I am too ashamed to even speak to God, I doubt God wants me anyway, think I am not really a Christian after all, think I will just give up on it all".

That is what Satan wants to do and thats a pretty good tactic and a very successful one when you get to hear why Christians gave up altogether on God .
