Good post!
We all stumble and fall, God Our Father is always there to lift us up, as he said. It is in your weaknesses that I am glorified.
I have learned myself that when I am truelly humbled before God Our Father, that is when he shows his great power and Love.
Try to overcome with the help of Jesus, but remember, this is why Jesus came to us.
God bless, pickles

But is this overcoming by the power of the Holy Spirit, or your own strength? By the Power of the Holy Spirit at work in and through us.
So that the Gentiles might be made an offering acceptable to God, sanctified by the Holy Spirit. Rom15:16

We agree on this then. So the glory is all God's for what is done in us, we can take none of the credit.
May I ask you your interpretation of Pauls words I quoted. I answered that in my 2nd (?) post.

If while we seek to be justified in Christ it becomes evident that we ourselves are sinners, does this mean that Christ promotes sin? Absolutely not! if I rebuild what I destroyed I prove that I am a lawbreaker. I already address this in my 2nd post.

With respect, I do not believe it was a satisfactory answer at all

Can I also ask you what you consider is our righteousness as Christians? Christ Jesus is our rightesouness
And what is your interpretation of Rom6:14 "14For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace." taken in context with verse 13, we are told that sin will NOT rule us and that it is His grace that makes this possible...(that and the shed blood)

It says because we are not under law sin will not rule us. Are you unsure what Paul is saying here? Only you have not addressed this in your answer

Also what is your interpretation of

Do we then nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather we uphold the law Rom3:31 the law is not made obsolete by Christ, but rather it is fulfilled in and through Christ. He completes the perfect law of God, which is found in the first two commandments of the reknown 10.

No! Again, you are not addressing what is written in the verse. If you read Paul's previous comments on faith and the law, and incidentally Rom6:14 would show you this. It is because we live by faith in Christ the law is upheld. Please also see next answer

I would also be interested in your interpretation of Rom7:5&6 simply means that if....IF we are walking according to the Spirit...walking IN the Spirit we are free, or are supposed to be and can be, free from the law that pertains to the flesh.

No! You seem unable to address what is being written in these scriptures. It was the law itself that arouses the sinful passions in us, Paul is explicit about this. By trying to strive to obey law/be good enough/not sin(as sin can only be measured by law breaking) Paul says that aroused the sinful passions in him. But he died to the law ands lived by faith in Christ, therefore as he said in Rom3:31 the law was actually upheld.
Sins power is the law1Cor15:56

And yet when I say we are to look to Jesus and trust him and we will be free of our sin(the law will be upheld) you say this is wrong. People will use it as a licence to sin. This is exactly what Paul was referring to in Gal2:17&18 The same accusation would have been levelled at Paul. Does Christ promote sin?

Also as you said we sin soley by choice. Are you sinless and perfect? I never said that I was. I sin, when I act without thinking and sometimes in ignorance. But I don't purposely sin.

This completely contradicts your earlier statement(which I would invite anyone to read) You said we all sin because we choose to. You gave Bible verses to explain that now we are saved we do not need to sin. How come for others it is willfull, dfeliberate sin by choice, but for you you sin without thinking and sometimes in ignorance. Do you not know what sin is? Your heart has been circumcised by the Spirit, and God's good laws have been written on your heart. Surely the rule you set for others must apply to you also. You said sin is idolatory and we are giving in/following its demon. Therefore as you admit you sin, by your own words, you, willfully, deliberately choose to sin whaen you do not have to, and are being led by a demon and acting in an adulterous way(these are your words, not mine)

Or do you choose to willfully, deliberately sin and go against the Bible verses you quoted. If you do sin. Would you consider that God may take a dimmer view of it than He would of a new Chrtistians sin? I don't know. Sin is sin and He is not a respecter of person. The word 'failure' is not found in the KJV or the NASB. God does not use that word in reference to His children. Our inability to do or to not do something is an indicator...a meter of sorts as to how much more training we need from the Holy Spirit....should we be teachable.

I refer you to my above answer. The measure you use to judge others will be the measure used to judge you. You have been clear as to why people sin, and the reasons behind it, therefore this must apply to you also!

Why do you have such a problem with holding ALL believers accountable??
I should have added that if you do choose to sin, would that mean that you have bowed to and obeyed that sin and the demon behind it? Yes And if you sin does that make you an idolator? If you are choosing to do an ungodly act or dwell on an ungodly thought, yes.

Any sin is an ungodly act, and you have said we all sin by choice.

Also if all our sins are washed away and gone without a trace, left at conversion would we not then be Holy? Yes, until we speak or judge or act in a way that does not exude Christ, which makes the working out of one's salvation in fear and trembling a constant state of 'being saved'.

No! if you are right we would already be Holy and then become unholy, this is not what that verse says.

So why does it say in Heb10:14

Because by one sacrifice he has made perfect those who are being made Holy. "being made" is a present tense terminology. When we sin, we go to the Cross and are in the process of 'being made' holy once again.

I am sorry but that is no answer to what is actually written
Surely if you are right we are already Holy, how can we be being made Holy? see above

If you truly understood all of these scriptures, you would not wish to crush people with impossible demands, but rather show them what Paul actually meant in his teachings. The heart of the message is grace, and grace brings the only true victory a Christian can have. Grace is not telling a new Christian that if they are not absolutely perfect by not sinning, they are being demon led and simply willfully deliberately sinning. Also I believe you fail to understand Paul's struggle with sin in Romans ch7, as you did not respond to this in an earlier post, Grace comes through faith. And victory comers through faith in Christ. And no true Christian would use grace as a licence to sin! People did in the Bible but it did not stop the message being preached.

Maggie you made some interesting statements but I noticed that your bible says that you are being sanctified. Salvation is not a process, Christian growth is a process. That is why I use the KJB. Here is what Hebrews 10:14 realy says. For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. If we are truly sanctifed the Bible says the God writes His law on are hearts, so we will have a desire to obey His Word. We are either saved or we are not....there is no halfway.

And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 1 John 2:3

For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. 1 John 5:3
Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask because we obey His commands and do what pleases Him.
And this is His command, to believe on the name of His son Jesus Christ and to love one another. 1John3:21-23
