Why lie...why not teach the bible instead.... we are never told to completely subject to men that call themselves "pastors"

The importance of a Pastor is to teach for discipleship. The importance of following is set by example as Paul said in 1 cor 11:1 Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.

IMHO, a man who insists that you be completely under submission to him (above anything else), is a man to be VERY wary of. This is not Biblical. (See post #5)

Pastors are important as teachers and leaders, but Pastors should always direct their people to be under submission to Jesus/God.. We are human and we fall and fail even Pastors, but Jesus never fails and He is the only one we should fully submit to.

Now if you want to talk about how Pastors can help train their people to lead others to Jesus and the selfless work they do for those members of their church there is a lot to talk about, but Jesus/God is always the head of the church and the most important one to follow and become like.

Post that scripture and what you said on your first post was not to respect but "to be completely under" a pastor ..which is just not biblical at all...even Paul made clear he was not to rule over the faith of those he taught the gospel.

Paul was a evident Apostle of the Lord...he did not set up a system where pastors ruled over the flock...but served the flock.

2Co 1:21 Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God;
22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.
23 Moreover I call God for a record upon my soul, that to spare you I came not as yet unto Corinth.
24 Not for that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of your joy: for by faith ye stand.

It's very biblical actually it happened many times in the old testament and in the new and will happen again when antichrist reveals himself

Jesus came to serve, not be served, and so it must be with pastors.

Respect is a two way street that must be earned by everyone, not demanded by some because of a title or position. How's that for a sermon?

means? why its a shame.. and what I meant by completely under them is, we should follow them... there are many reasons of why I chose this topic.... we should respect our leaders and The BIBLE only ask us to obey your leaders....

Hebrews 13:17 - Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that [is] unprofitable for you.

Jeremiah 3:15 - And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.

Nish that is what I meant you asked a simple question and a bunch of others seem it more important to ring in on their own personal encounters, that's the shame.
It is important to show the diff between a pastor and a hireling. A true pastor is raised up by God to care for the flock and not to rule over. A hireling is quite the opposite, a coward at best when challenged. A true pastor would give his life for the sheep. A hireling would turn tail and run.
I agree we should respect those that God has raised up and called for the purpose of a pastor, but have little rearguard for a hireling.

The original meaning of the Biblical word for pastor, means to shepherd a flock, to feed the sheep.

Jer 3:1515 And I will give you pastors according to Mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.
KJV

Remember Jesus asking Peter if he loved Him, 3 times? Each time Jesus said, "Feed My sheep". That specifically is the job of a pastor in Christ's Church. In Churches that can afford a real pastor, that one is usually a scholar in God's Holy Writ.

I expect a pastor to be a shepherd of the people who are in his community. He needs to serve, help, pray for and love these people most of all. A pastor with a shepherd's heart really listens to the people with compassion, and never judgment.

And most important of all, bring the focus to Jesus and only help the people to be accountable to Him as their covering.

Per God's Word in the OT, it was the priest's job to read God's Word to the people and give them the meaning. That is also how our Lord Jesus meant for Peter to feed His sheep.

There's 3 main offices, the pastor, the evangelist, and the minister.

In most small Churches the preacher has to try to be all three offices. But in larger Churches there's usually a pastor who only teaches Bible and is a scholar, and then there are evangelists that only preach The Gospel Good News, and then there are separate ministers that handle various duties like administration, visiting the sick and elderly, etc.

Apostle Paul fulfilled all three offices, so he actually is the best example of that.
