In the final analysis, it didn't matter if any of them could swim, or not. I do sometimes wonder about Lady Gaga, and have this one neighbor...

yupp.. there's a million threads on here already, about the nephilim. lol..

I think nephilim are the offspring of fallen angels and human women. I could be mistaken, though. :)

I feel it is a very intriguing subject that actually makes a lot of the OT make a lot more sense, and it's been unbelievable to me, how much it ties in with many of the ancient religions of times past. Really an interesting subject in my opinion.

Jimbone, in what ways does it make sense with the OT. Would you mind elaborating on all of that? This is the kind of information I am looking for. :) Thank you.

As far as an explanation of the reasoning behind the commands to kill every man woman and child of certain areas and the reasons for it. All the mentions of Giants and that kind of thing are also explained this way as well. IMO of course, and you're welcome, it's my pleasure like I said I really like this topic.

Well....they are on the planet before the flood and are wiped out in the flood.....they are then on the planet AGAIN during the time of David and seem to be somewhat wiped out again....I agree with BLUE and MARC and will say that the angels that left their first estate and have been judged are compared to Sodom and Gomorrah and GOING AFTER STRANGE FLESH is Jude......

Genesis does make a play on words......The SONS of GOD came in unto the DAUGHTERS of MEN...and unto them were BORN........seems obvious and I will say...many museums have giant human skeletons, but refuse to show them and or they have been destroyed.......!

It is difficult to imagine an angel having a flesh Child with a woman. It is more likely that the sons of God were believers who had children with non believers from elsewhere - perhaps from the city that Cain is reported to have built

It is difficult to believe a lot of things in the Bible but in the flesh we will always be weak...

OP: Theeeey'rrrre BAAAAAAACK!!

The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.

Looks like they were eradicated completely in the days of Joshua.......

Numbers 13:30:33

30But Caleb quieted the people before Moses and said, “Let us go up at once and occupy it, for we are well able to overcome it.” 31Then the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we are.” 32So they brought to the people of Israel a bad report of the land that they had spied out, saying, “The land, through which we have gone to spy it out, is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people that we saw in it are of great height. 33And there we saw the Nephilim (the sons of Anak, who come from the Nephilim), and we seemed to ourselves like grasshoppers, and so we seemed to them.”

Joshua 11:21-23
21And Joshua came at that time and cut off the Anakim from the hill country, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the hill country of Judah, and from all the hill country of Israel. Joshua devoted them to destruction with their cities. 22There was none of the Anakim left in the land of the people of Israel. Only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod did some remain.23So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the Lord had spoken to Moses. And Joshua gave it for an inheritance to Israel according to their tribal allotments. And the land had rest from war.

"Anakim(long-necked), a race of giants, descendants of Arba, (Joshua 15:13; 21:11) dwelling in the southern part of Canaan, and particularly at Hebron, which from their progenitor received the name of "city of Arba." Anak was the name of the race rather than that of an individual. (Joshua 14:15) The race appears to have been divided into three tribes or families, bearing the names Sheshai, Ahiman and Talmai. Though the war-like appearance of the Anakim had struck the Israelites with terror in the time of Moses, (Numbers 13:28; 9:2) they were nevertheless dispossessed by Joshua, (Joshua 11:21,22) and their chief city, Hebron, became the possession of Caleb. (Joshua 15:14; Judges 1:20) After this time they vanish from history."

Nosense!!!! since when the sons of God are evil spiritus, the Sons of God has to be Good!

otherwise God will not qualify to be even a bishop as per Paul standards.

I never quite understood how the fallen angels could have children with women. Are we to believe God created angels to have the seed to have children? What point is there for angels to have sex and have children?

To try and corrupt the bloodline of the coming messiah. That’s how prideful Satan is, he actually thinks he can mess up Gods plans.

The 'sons of the elohim' is another name for angels of whom Satan was one (Job 1.6; 2.1). Whether women actually had intercourse with them, or whether the women rather bore children to necromancers whilst deeply involved in occult practises so that their children were satanically inspired, we can only guess. but it was clearly bad enough to require all involved to be wiped out.

nephilim probably then came to be a name used of any unusually large men, which would explain their appearance after the flood.
