This has been done to death, no?
Of all the Bible perversions, the NKJV may be the most insidious,
because it is a masterful work of deception, with a trusted name.
It's not new, and it is certainly not the King James Version.

The NKJV gets it wrong in the very first sentence:
Specifically the use of the word "heavens"
Genesis 1:1a establishes Gods creation of time, space, and matter.
There was one space, hence the use of the singular "heaven" in the AV.

Mat 22:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.

There are three heavens...

1) The atmosphere...

Gen 1:20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

Birds don't fly outside the atmosphere.

2) Outer space...

Psa 8:3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;

These celestial bodies exist outside of our atmosphere in what we call space.

3) God's throne area...

Rev 4:1 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.
Rev 4:2 And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.
Rev 4:3 And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.
Rev 4:4 And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.
Rev 4:5 And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.
Rev 4:6 And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.
Rev 4:7 And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.
Rev 4:8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.

How long have you been a member of the King James Only cult? HAve you just been indoctrinated to their teachings and just "discovering" things which they claim, and with a "GOsh they must be right" thinking you make haste to post what you have discovered on here?

If you are just dabbling with this cult, then get out and have nothing to do with them, if you are already in so deep you do not want to know and have been brainwashed to the point where making stupid and ridiculous claims are necassary to keep the lie that the king james is Gods final perfect bible, then I pity you for such an error of judgement.

I grew up with a KJV. Read that KJV when I was a teen. Years later I started to really study the Bible after I found an NKJV that had belonged to a preacher in training. It had a huge concordance. What a blessing from God!! But I got paranoid and threw it away. Then I studied the same KJV I grew up with until it was fallen apart. Got myself my first NIV. WOW!! So easy to read!!!!! So grateful, gave it to somebody and now I have a Billy Graham recommended NLT. LOVE...it.

I doubt the Chinese have their Bibles translated in KJV.

Amber, problem is with this cult is they assume that people like myself hate the King James and its an attack on the King James. Reality is, its nothing like that at all, I have king James and use it, I like the King James, its just the cults claim that its the final perfect Bible that I hate.

Looks like I touched a pretty big nerve here.
No where in my original post are the words "final" or "perfect" used.
I don't know if the KJV is either. Here's what I do know after 18 years of studying this:
The KJV is the most honest and accurate English translation of the Holy Scriptures.
Every attempt to "correct" it has gotten it wrong.
The New World Translation that the JW's use is more correct that the NKJV.
As far as the whole "easier-to-read" reasoning for using other translations, I will say this:
One ought to raise his intellect to that of the Bible, rather than lowering that of the Bible's to his.

How do you know? How well do you know the Greek language? Are you able to do you own translating to test the KJV or any other translation???

I'm not expert on Bibles, but the New King James Version is one of my favorites. I certainly do not prefer the "old" King James Version, which is using language that has different meanings than it did when it was originally written.

I exhort you to read the page I've linked to.

The Bible is a launching pad, but its purpose is to cause us to connect with the Lord. It is not an end in itself. I imagine fault can be found with any version of the Bible. I prefer the (old) Revised Standard Version. It is the version I was given by my church as a boy.

If there is a third heaven, wouldn't that imply a First and a Second?

2 Corinthians 12:2 I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.

strictly speaking, Ha Sha MayIM = the 2 high waters
and in the septuagent the word is singular = Ouranos

interestingly barashit = in the beginnings (Hebrew Plural)
while en arche = in the beginning (Greek Singular)

Can you reply to post number 5 please, thats where I asked you some vital questions.

It dosnt matter if you did not mention "perfect Final authority version", that is the core of this King James 1611 Cult and seeing as you are quoting from thier website and agreeing with them, you must be also endorsing this point, that the King James 1611 is the only Bible that would should read. You know they want to see all manuscripts and versions of Bible, including the ancient Papyrus etc destroyed along with all modern versions of the Bible, leaving only the 1611 King James as the only bible in existance?

Just look up more of their nuttier fruitcake thinking, keep clear of this cult, its ridiculous.

To those like me, that are fairly new in their walk, this whole bible version issue is so confusing. How do I know which one is the best to use
