When I became a Christian I asked God to show me which church has the right teaching and which one is right because there were so many, and believed that He would guide me to whichever denomination that be. God responded to this prayer that the only spotless and error-free church is His Bride in heavenly places!
I understood then that every single denomination is tainted with some dose of error, as everything else on the Earth, and that there is no perfect truth in denominations, although we might find fellowship there with other elect.
His Word and His Spirit only, as it's not of this world.

Correct the Spiritual Body of Christ is the One Church that He was talking about. Every truly born again Believer in Jesus Christ as LORD (which means MASTER), was immersed by the Holy Spirit into that one Spiritual Body of which HE is the HEAD, the very moment we first BELIEVED. It does not mean there is a SINGLE Denomination that is the Original Church that Christ IS building. Genuine Believers are those WHO are coming from all of the Mainline Denominations, NOT JUST ONE. In fact, that is why HE WROTE to Churches that represented that Seven Types of Churches, as described in the first three Chapters of REVELATION. HE IS RECOGNIZING SEVEN TYPES OF CHURCHES WHO ARE WE SINFUL HUMAN BEINGS TO RECOGNIZE LESS?

1 Corinthians 12:13 (HCSB)
[SUP]13 [/SUP] For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body {not water}—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and we were all made to drink of one Spirit. {Water Baptism is our public identification with HIM, while this verse is talking about our Spiritual Immersion into HIS Spiritual Body which happens the very moment we first genuinely BELIEVE.}

I repeat, that verse is NOT talking about a single drop of water. It is talking about being IMMERSED into the Spiritual Body of JESUS CHRIST, which is a WORK of the HOLY SPIRIT, and not the work of our climbing into a baptistry.

Colossians 1:18 (HCSB)
[SUP]18 [/SUP] He is also the head of the body, the church; He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He might come to have first place in everything.

Romans 8:1-2 (HCSB)
[SUP]1 [/SUP] Therefore, no condemnation now exists for those in Christ Jesus,
[SUP]2 [/SUP] because the Spirit’s law of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.

John 17:21 (HCSB)
[SUP]21 [/SUP]May they all be one, as You, Father, are in Me and I am in You. May they also be one in Us, so the world may believe You sent Me.

Romans 12:4-5 (HCSB)
[SUP]4 [/SUP] Now as we have many parts in one body, and all the parts do not have the same function,
[SUP]5 [/SUP] in the same way we who are many are one body in Christ and individually members of one another.

How we sinful human beings, love to take that and twist it into a sick form of pride and say, "HE is talking about My Church, the only True Church". NO HE IS NOT! He is talking about us being Spiritually IMMERSED into HIMSELF, and HE into us.

Now this info, may come as a SHOCK to some of you; BUT the word "CHURCH" is NOT in the original languages that our Bibles were translated from.

Matthew 16:16-18 Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
[SUP]16 [/SUP] and Simon Peter answering said, `Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.' {Petra - a rock, is actually WHAT PETER SAID, NOT PETER HIMSELF.}
[SUP]17 [/SUP] And Jesus answering said to him, `Happy art thou, Simon Bar-Jona, because flesh and blood did not reveal it to thee, but my Father who is in the heavens.
[SUP]18 [/SUP] `And I also say to thee, that thou art a rock {Petros - a stone}, and upon this rock {Petra - a rock} I will build my assembly, and gates of Hades shall not prevail against it;

HE used the word assemblyin the original languages. WHY IS THAT SIGNIFICANT? Because HE has ALWAYS been building HIS ASSEMBLY, even in the Old Testament times:

Joshua 22:16 (NIV)
[SUP]16 [/SUP] "The whole assembly of the LORD says: 'How could you break faith with the God of Israel like this? How could you turn away from the LORD and build yourselves an altar in rebellion against him now?

Deuteronomy 23:8 (NKJV)
[SUP]8 [/SUP] The children of the third generation born to them may enter the assembly of the LORD.

1 Chronicles 29:20 (NASB)
[SUP]20 [/SUP] Then David said to all the assembly, "Now bless the LORD your God." And all the assembly blessed the LORD, the God of their fathers, and bowed low and did homage to the LORD and to the king.

OH MY! For those who have been hiding some antisemitism, you had better get rid of it and get ready to welcome the older half of HIS ASSEMBLY as part of the BRIDE OF CHRIST.

Isaiah 61:10 (ASV)
[SUP]10 [/SUP] I will greatly rejoice in Jehovah, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with a garland, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

Isaiah 62:5 (ASV)
[SUP]5 [/SUP] For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee; and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee.

Jeremiah 33:10-11 (NASB)
[SUP]10 [/SUP] "Thus says the LORD, 'Yet again there will be heard in this place, of which you say, "It is a waste, without man and without beast," that is, in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem that are desolate, without man and without inhabitant and without beast,
[SUP]11 [/SUP] the voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voice of those who say, "Give thanks to the LORD of hosts, For the LORD is good, For His lovingkindness is everlasting"; and of those who bring a thank offering into the house of the LORD. For I will restore the fortunes of the land as they were at first,' says the LORD.

Isaiah 49:18 (NASB)
[SUP]18 [/SUP] "Lift up your eyes and look around; All of them gather together, they come to you. As I live," declares the LORD, "You will surely put on all of them as jewels and bind them on as a bride.

Old Testament Saints are those who Believed GOD that He would send a Messiah and they were willing to submit to Him as Master.

New Testament Saints are those who Believed GOD that He did send a Messiah and we are willing to submit to Him as Master.

Both groups of Saints have the SAME FAITH, the Faith of Abraham, and we are BOTH part of the Assembly that Christ has ALWAYS BEEN BUILDING; therefore O.T. Saints and N.T. Saints are BOTH part of the BRIDE OF CHRIST.

Romans 4:3 (HCSB)
[SUP]3 [/SUP] For what does the Scripture say? Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him for righteousness.

Isaiah 61:10 (ESV)
[SUP]10 [/SUP] I will greatly rejoice in the LORD; my soul shall exult in my God, for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation; He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself like a priest with a beautiful headdress, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

SO MUCH FOR THE SINFUL PRIDE THAT MY CHURCH IS THE ONLY TRUE CHURCH.

Anyone besides me getting tired of trying to correct the ERRORS the upload program makes only to have TIME RUN OUT, before all of those upload ERRORS are corrected?

EXAMPLE: assembly - above
Obviously, I did not type it that way, and 5 minutes is not enough to proofread to correct those kind of upload ERRORS.

Much has been said about the many denominations in the world today.
My question is about those who call themself Non Denominational churches.
What do they believe and practice?
I have known people from two different ND churches, and both were very different.
One began as a Sourthern Baptist but later removed all Baptist references from their sign and literature, but continued to teach Baptist doctrine. They did this so they could grow in numbers in a city with a large collage population, and it worked.
The other accepted any and every type of belief. Their attitude was that everyone was welcome and could believe and practice what they wanted.
Is this the norm, or just two extremes?
There's a story I heard many years ago that I oft plagiarize about denominations. Goes something like this:

One day Jesus is walking down the street and a group of people bring a blind man to Him seeking healing. Jesus spits on the ground, makes a little mud, puts some in the blind man’s eyes, and tells his friends to take him down to the river and wash it out. They and the crowd do just that, and when the man washes he is healed and can see. So off this group goes, preaching that one must received ‘spit in the eye and wash at the river’.

Another day, Jesus comes across another blind man seeking healing. Jesus tells the man to go to the temple and pay his alms. The man and the crowd around him do so, and he is healed and can see. So off this group goes, preaching that one must ‘give their alms’.

On still another occasion, a blind man is brought to Jesus wanting to be healed. Jesus asks the man if he believes He can do it, the man says yes, and he is healed. So off this group goes, preaching one must have ‘faith and belief’.

So now we have these three 'denominations' going at each other, insisting you can only be healed by ‘spit and washing’, or only by ‘alms and giving’, or only by ‘faith and belief’ - each ‘denomination’ insisting that it is exclusive of all the others. But in debating about the how, they totally lose sight that there are many ways Jesus restores us, and that they are not exclusive of each other.

None of us has the whole picture... but we all have a piece of the jigsaw puzzle. That is what I've found in the non-denominational churches. Instead of trying to force-feed our piece of the puzzle into the big picture, we should pay attention to the picture formed by the puzzle pieces around us. Because even with as much as we think we know, today is not the day to stop learning from each other.

I fed you with milk and not with solid food: for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able: for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men? for when one says, "I am of Paul," and another, "I am of Apollos," are you not carnal? 1 Cor. 3:2-4

Now I say this that each of you says, "I am of Paul," or "I am of Apollos," or "I am of Cephas," or "I am of Christ," Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? or were you baptized in the name of Paul? 1 Cor. 1:12-13

Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. 1 Cor. 1:10

Some of you say you are a Baptist, some a Methodist, some Catholic, some Presbyterian, some Pentecostal.
What does Paul say you are?

IMO Certain core beliefs are essential to true Salvation and any church that teaches them is a true church:

1) Jesus Christ is fully God. He is eternal. He is Creator. He is one with the Father.

2) Jesus Christ, during His earthly ministry, was fully man. He was born of a virgin and lived a sinless life.

3) Mankind is essentially corrupted and depraved; and can NOT meet the standards of a Holy God by his own efforts.

4) God, in His mercy and grace, imparts Jesus' own righteousness to those he has chosen

5) Those God has chosen come to Salvation through faith.

6) The indwelling Holy Spirit transforms those God has chosen to become ever more Christ-like

All who come to Salvation through faith will have any doctrinal errors they hold corrected when Jesus resurrects us to eternal life.

Each denomination (and believer) has various other doctrinal teachings which are NOT essential to Salvation; but which give our walk with the Lord clearer definition and cause our service to Him to be more effective or less so.
