We confess Him as Lord, I do not make Him my Lord, I do not make His Lordship come into effect He always was and always will be Lord.

I submit to His authority because He is Lord
How can one submit to an Authority they do not let it have?

As I said Meggido, I know what you are saying. I just don't see that one can just become something that they haven't heard and that is with an ear that has been "circumcised". We can hear things without it registering as to what exactly is being said.

There are things that my husband was involved with way before I saw the truth of it. So that is why I posted "if God permits". It's His work to circumcise ones hearing. We cannot grow faster than His Holy Spirits revelation.

Also, I disagree that positional righteousness is meat. That is foundational and needs to be taught for there is security.
Stonesoffire, please accept my apology for neglecting to include you on my list of exemplary women in this thread who show and tell us what spiritual growth and moving onward to spiritual maturity and progressive sanctification looks like after we are saved. You are a good example to us all :)

UnderGrace, you are always so kind to me. Thank you for your words of encouragement. You have shown such great perseverance and equanimity in this thread, and I appreciate your insights and wisdom :)

Stunnedbygrace, we are our own worst enemies. Those thoughts we may dwell on in our anger toward another are received as being aimed at ourselves by our subconscious minds, which makes no distinction when you are caught in an onslaught of negative "you" thoughts: it is as if you are speaking to yourself, and are therefore poisoning your own psyche. That is one of the reasons why it is so important to guard our hearts.

It is amazing indeed, when you have that aha moment and scripture via the Holy Spirit reveals the truth of who Jesus is and what we have available to us, He has given us His righteousness, the more we more towards His righteousness in us the more we are conformed to His Image.

I can't calm myself. It's too astounding. And now I'm remembering what Cee said yesterday that I couldn't understand either. But it makes sense now. Where he said: going toward vs. coming FROM righteousness. PFFT! Too amazing...;)

depends on what you believe the commands are we are to obey....
Love God.
Love others
Love yourself....

If you do not love yourself along with all your failings...how can you love others with all their failings
love of self faith is what got us in trouble to begin with,

thats whats wrong with the country, and a lot of churches, they teach we must love self to love others,

thats a lie, we must receive gods love to love others,

Leaven in NT & OT always speaks of sin. Not a particular sin, but sin in general.
no. wrong. we went through this a few weeks ago. in Galatians 5 -9, Paul uses the word leaven to describe mixing the Law with grace. and before you condem this ( and me ) I just checked baker's evangelical of Biblical theology , and it has same commentary on Galatians 5 -9 as what I just said above.

I thought he was the Son that made the plant grow?
Hi Ariel82, pardon me but you are correct; it is God who causes the growth. Jesus is our all in all.

"So the Lord God appointed a plant and it grew up over Jonah to be a shade over his head to deliver him from his discomfort."
Jonah4:6

"Then God said to Jonah, “Do you have good reason to be angry about the plant?” And he said, “I have good reason to be angry, even to death.” [SUP]10 [/SUP]Then the Lord said, “You had compassion on the plant "for which you did not work" and which you "did not cause to grow," which [SUP][h][/SUP]came up overnight and perished [SUP][i][/SUP]overnight. [SUP]11 [/SUP]Should I not have compassion on Nineveh, the great city in which there are more than 120,000 persons who do not know the difference between their right and left hand, as well as many animals?”

Hi Stephan...As i am walking with our Lord, i have learned from my early days that when i have sinned, the Lord convicts me of my sin, then i repent and move on...This is how i am growing, being convicted of my past sins reminds me more to walk away from them, the gaps of me committing some major sins in my past are getting wider and wider, some now i only have to look at when temptation comes my way and i am like " No thank you " because i remember how the Lord convicted me previously, so this to me is growing...Surely people don`t believe that we don`t need to be convicted, how else would we feel quilt and shame and not want to repent to get right with the Lord peace again  ...xox...
What do you mean when you say "convict."

Sad that when we respond to a post we have to be on guard to be fired upon.

But I know that it is the doctrine that is abhorrent to them, (I have doctrines I abhor to because I was a victim of them) and

so while it may seem personal hopefully it is not always so, although sometimes it is a personal attack :(

What does God ask of us to DO after we have submitted to HIS authority?

How are we different than the world, if we have truly been born again?

I'm serious, all I can keep repeating is: if God doesn't condemn me why do you??!
The last time I can remember feeling this anger is when I got skunked out of the five dollars dad gave me to spend at the carnival. I was so angry that I'd been shilled and then had no money for cotton candy.

I was thinking more this verse myself...

1 Corinthians 3:6 ►
New International Version
I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.

New Living Translation
I planted the seed in your hearts, and Apollos watered it, but it was God who made it grow.

English Standard Version
I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth.

Berean Study Bible
I planted the seed and Apollos watered it, but God made it grow.

Berean Literal Bible
I planted, Apollos watered, but God kept it growing.

New American Standard Bible
I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth.

King James Bible
I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.

A real life example would help if you can pick a sin that it doesn't embarrass you too much:) to share.
You know that inward witness Spirit they do not talk about anymore....yeah, you know, they used to call him the still small, voice...the one....that...you know speaks in your belly?.....they now call IT a conscience...or intuition...yeah when that thingee in your belly says...don't do that...and you go ahead and do it....

That is the leading voice of the Holy Spirit convincing you that what you are about to do is not walking in him or in practical righteousness and will result in SIN.....then when you do it, it is the voice that causes you to realize...I missed the mark on that and you confess it and ask for forgiveness and then move out and partner with the same Spirit to overcome the temptation to keep repeating it...

Conviction means to convince of a thing...

The leaven of the Pharisees is false doctrines and hyprocrisy. Because pride will cause people to swell with hot air.
True.

The scribes & pharisees didn't care what you believe, as long as you agreed with them & paid your tithes.

Pretty much the same with those that teach false doctrine on CC.

Exactly!! This Make Him Lord phrase, seems to mean, a stringent obedience to not sin, who of us can do that outside of His grace?

I confess Him as Lord by believing in the Gospel, so that I cease from my own self-effort to gain salvation

Romans 10: 13 for “WHOEVER WILL CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.”

amen, God s lord, no matter what, w can't make him what he already is, all we can do is submit.

Why are you angry?

The Bible says to take every thought obedient to Christ...whether it comes from the flesh or the devil it doesn't matter if it's not from God you should examine it.,,pray and reject all thoughts that war against God's wisdom.

1. Jesus died for all our sins.
2. If we are crucified with Him, we will be raised again in the last day.
3. We have the firstfruits, our born again spirits to help us keep hope in that final promise
4. We need to add to our faith by walking with the Holy spirit and learn virtue, knowledge, self control, perseverance, brotherly kindness and agape love,

Being fired upon is part and parcel of this public, online world which we inhabit. If one is solidly grounded in the Word of God, though, there is no reason to back down from what we believe regarding it. That we have differing understandings and beliefs is almost to be expected despite the outcry from others of what such differences mean to the body as a whole. The important thing is that we behave as a body and not merciless agents of mercenary guerrilla warfare firing upon the enemy. Why this is so difficult is understandable also if we acknowledge our own passion to that which we adhere. A test then comes in how we deal with those who oppose us. If those who oppose us constantly make personal attacks, they are not likely to accept correction, for they are operating out of ego: edging God out. Choosing our battles becomes a matter of engaging only those who deal honestly with us, and with humility, because we know they are trustworthy. Not everyone is trustworthy. Discernment and detachment are necessary, as well as knowing where our boundaries and limitations are.

Exactly and that is the true question....

Have you died to self, are you cruxified with Him or are you double minded and seeking the world and it's pleasures?

Have you sold all your hopes and dreams and taken hold of the one pearl....salvation through faith in Jesus?

Or have you wandered away chasing the false treasures of this world?
I thought I already said it.....
[FONT=&quot]I make Jesus MY LORD when I submit myself to His authority.:)[/FONT]
I thought you read it already.
