I once had a Oneness Pentecostal approach me while I was delivering mail and she tried to convince me that we must be water baptized in "Jesus name only" in order to be saved. She said baptism in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit was "invalid" and such a person who has not been water baptized in "Jesus name only" remains lost.

She also told me to go home that night and read Acts 2:38 and baptize myself in the bathtub in "Jesus name only." She had those "Jim Jones" eyes and freaked me out! I was waiting for her to hand me the Kool Aid!

Hahahahahhaha wow....immerse yourself she said.....this goes way beyond the kool aid.....Lumped this one in with religious idiocy.......wow......and the fact that people believe this lunacy.......crazy

Just like Abraham had faith long before he got "whacked" ....Immersion is in the N.T. what circumcision was to the O.T.......nothing more than an identifier and public testimony of faith into Christ.......

Satan is very clever at disguising truth as lies and lies as truth.

Pick a few verses take it out of context and build doctrines and theology around that.

Paul commended the Bereans for testing what he preached with scripture, not just a few verses.

That is what we all must do. Not just believe what we have been told.

Thank God that he who is in us is greater than he is in the world.
It his he who reveals the lies and replaces it with truth, based on all truth backed up with all scripture, not just a few verses.

Fully agree......deceived and blind to the truth for sure.....tragic, sad and the ones deceiving will have a lot to answer for.....bad day for them

If your talking about 1st Cor 3....I believe both are believers and those with wood, hay and stubble that gets burned up were worldy, unfaithful believers....and will add that even faithful believers sometimes have a work that does not make the cut.....motivation = all.......if out of love and righteous = gold, silver and precious stones.....any other reason and not righteous = wood, hay and stubble.....

as far as the deceivers who have peddled a false gospel.....lost......as far as those who have trusted into a false gospel....lost......only those who have trusted Christ biblically are saved as the power is in the message.....fajx message = no power to save......as difficult and tragic as that truth is....it is the truth nonetheless......

Well at the end of the day she was parroting and pushing a false gospel that she espouses.....both herself and the source are false, deceived and deceiving all that they push it upon!

Now if anyone has read my postings, I've had experiences too. Some extreme others might think. But, never saw this ever. Hope I never do again.

Every charismatic I have met believes the following....

a. You can lose salvation
b. You must work to keep to gain or keep it
c. And pushes Acts 2:38 to the exclusion of the majority of the bible

Key words.....everyone I have met!
