The root of the problem of sin in the churches will always be identity. Who are you?

The new man in Christ? Or the old man that died with Him. Renew the mind with truth. Jesus.

Once this is established, - the right works.
Growth and maturity have a lot to play as well.....the more time spent in the word fine tunes the conscience and it becomes more difficult to sin based upon conviction and obedience..........

I see that Cainology is still rampent today....he pushed works as well.....When I see the blood (not works) I will pass over you.

He that believes on the Son (not works for) is having everlasting life.

He that believes on the Son (not works for) is not CONDEMNED.

It pleased God by the foolishness of preqching to save them that BELIEVE (Not works for)

Faith is what eternally saves a man (not works for)

Not by works of righteousness which we have done (past tense) but according to his mercy has he saved us (past tense)
Preach on brother!
Where you been?

LORD, LORD, have we not done many wonderful works in your name, have we not cast out devils in your name, and have we not prophesied in your name?

They lay claim to knowing Jesus
They lay claim to their right to enter based upon their wonderful works in his name.
They, like Cain put emphasis upon their works <--IN THE NAME OF JESUS.

They get cast to hell, Jesus never knew them and they were never saved.

The root of their miserable failure was the gospel they trusted into...a gospel based upon works just as all workers for do today.

Faith plus works to gain, maintain, keep, facillitate or embellish salvation in some form or fashion is a false gospel, has no power and will not save a flea, much less a man.

Wake up to the truth....it is faith into Christ ALONE that saves a man with no embellishments......anything beyond that is the result of the FAITH AND SALVATION one already possesses in Christ!
Actually Jesus explains exactly why He "Never knew them" in the parts of His Word's that you conveniently omitted. It's just the opposite of what you preach. He didn't reject them because the were doing works. He rejected them for the same reason He rejected the Pharisees. They were doing Works, just not obedient works.

Matt. 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

So Jesus says we need works Decon. "doing God's Will" is a work, Despite your religion and preaching to the contrary.

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

They, just like you, have works Decon. Sunday worship, Christmas, feeding random poor people, getting folks off drugs, etc.

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. (Transgress God's Commandments)

They had works, they were just disobedient to His Fathers Commandments like the Pharisees, the Mainstream Preachers of Christ's time.. I can easily see why you would reject this part of Jesus Word given your constant boasting about your religious traditions.

What is it with you and your apparent dislike for what Jesus actually Says. You did the same thing regarding your preaching that the Pharisees were following God's Laws. You know, you should look into your preaching instead of condemning folks who trust ALL of Jesus Word, not just the parts that can be used to further ancient Catholic traditions.

yes

its as clear as day

all HAVE worked iniquity
but they trusted in their works
and boasted them before Jesus

but He NEVER knew them...

they were NEVER born again

they had no new heart or spirit placed in them

God had never started a good work in them

or else like He promised

He would have continued until the day of Jesus Christ

Philippians 1:6
6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

Ezekiel 36:26
26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

they are like these men

Romans 10:3
3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God

How is honoring God/Jesus by trusting Him enough to submit to Gods Righteousness and not our own, our righteousness?

every single person has worked iniquity

and every single person without the imputed righteousness of Jesus is a worker of iniquity

they trusted in their works

thats why they boasted their works to Him

but He NEVER knew them

Dors this new heart include Practicing disobedience to the Commandments He created for man?

So then to show Him I love Him I must reject His Commandments and created images of God in the likeness of man, create my own Sabbaths, reject His Righteousness, and follow ancient religious tradition? And is I hate Him, I listen to all His Words and strive to walk even as He walked? I don’t know, didn’t Jesus warn about this very teaching

New International Version 1984 Luke 6:46-49 The Wise and Foolish Builders “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? I will show you what he is like who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice. He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.”
