You did the right thing. What is baptism, but an act of obedience after receiving salvation. I was baptised three times before I was happy with it. Even if you are satisfied, but your new church isn't go ahead and do it. It won't hurt anything and they will feel better.

The issue is they were claiming the previous baptisms were not valid because of bickering between very similar denominations 2 of them were Baptists. I forget what the first denomination was. I was a preteen then and 73 now. It was a slap in the face to me to tell me my previous baptisms were invalid even though all three were performed with the identically same ritual. Remember the words come straight from the Bible. As an adult getting a job and moving I dropped out of going to church but still watched it on TV and studied the Bible. Then I met my future wife and attended the church in the denomination she went to. My first question to the pastor when being interviewed to join the church was about baptism. He assured me the denomination accepted all other churches baptism. I immediately was won over. Been going to the denominations with the same basic theological doctrine ever since. I'm reformed to the bone in my beliefs!!!

WOW............ecumenical to the core and not biblical.....

church a teaches Grace by faith salvation and immerses
church b teaches works based salvation and immerses
church c teaches works based salvation and sprinkles
church d teaches sacramental salvation and sprinkles or pours
church e teaches salvation by faith and sprinkles
church f teaches ________ and does all three

Reminds me of a local charismatic preacher in the town I grew up in...on Saturday he would go to the boat ramp at the river near the town and "bapppptize" all the drunks coming out of the river since they were already wet......

There is only one valid salvation and only one valid form of baptism........to accept any and all totally contradicts the bible......wow!

Yeah, just like the Pharisees did when hammered with the truth by Jesus and Stephen........those in error usually respond in anger to the truth.....!

Immersion is the ONLY VALID FORM and the reason you cannot accept the truth is because your religion sprinkles/pours
You are disgusting!!! You ignore the fact that the early elders created the Apostles Creed to define with a statement of doctrine who is and isn't a Christian. Everything outside of of it is to agree to disagree. It is obvious that you are unable to come to terms with disagreeing politely!!! Go take a long walk on a short pier. The swim might help tone down your attitude.

Pure bullshit!!! You create great anger with your false accusing posts.
Every church I attended taught the gospel message that we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus. They used baptism to follow the great commission. Only the Baptists were hogs on ice about not recognizing previous baptisms if it was not done by their specific denomination!!! Your accusations are very non Christian and makes me wonder about your salvation. It is obvious you don't understand the concept of turn the other cheek in discussions. You are anything but mild mannered.

Hi Endoscopy...I want to post you these Scriptures , and the reason being is because 1. you seem to get angry very easily , should a Christian not be offended when disputing scripture , like I said , a good few times in your post you mention you are getting angry or you are angry , maybe you lack self control...James 1:19-20 19 My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry,
20 because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires...

Proverbs 19:11

11 A person’s wisdom yields patience; it is to one’s glory to overlook an offense...

Ecclesiastes 7:9
Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for anger resides in the lap of fools...

Proverbs 22:24
24 Do not make friends with a hot-tempered person, do not associate with one easily angered,..

I feel I should post these Scriptures to you , I am sure you know them but do not have them written on your heart...I send you these in the name of Jesus Christ our LORD...Amen...xox...

I accused no one pal....just made a very valid observation.......I suggest you take a breath, calm down and chill....to receive any and all baptisms is ecumenical for sure....and at the end of the day there is but ONE valid baptism....not two, three or more.....!

Hi Endoscopy, you are our brother and we are all the family of God. All of us on Earth are in a "construction zone" and God is not finished with any of us yet. So, just hang in there and let God help us all love each other despite our differences. Jesus is the core - We ALL believe and LOVE Jesus! That's what unites us! We love God and each other. Try not to get hung up on all the doctrine differences - just stay with Jesus! :)

Only because you accept sprinkling, pouring, immersion, standing in the rain, taking a shower, swimming in a pool etc as valid baptisms....

man, there is only 1 gospel and only 1 valid immersion.....end of story.....!

Ya know, the "heart" has an important part to play when it comes to the gospel and baptism. This were "works" discredit the "heart."

We are God's children and all of our "gospel" and "baptism" events have been done by "children."

When my 3 year old did her very best "work" to draw me a tree, I LOVED IT! Because she did it because she LOVED me! All of our silly attempts at doctrine fall short! LOL!

Yet, our hearts do NOT fall short! God loves us and we love Him - there's no need to argue over who drew the tree right! :)

Romans 5
5 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:

5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.

8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

While I appreciate your attempt to be a peace maker....we cannot alleviate the truth that there is but ONE gospel of salvation, one biblical form of immersion we have no right or leeway to chunk the truth and or sweep the truth under the rug in favor of getting along or for the sake of fellowship of the which BOTH are based upon the truth.........

Keep in mind anger is not a sin. It is what you do when angry. I hold myself in check and pause after becoming angry. Done that all my life after not holding back once. Learned a painful lesson as a teenager.

I agree 1 gospel but several denominations besides me disagree with 1 valid immersion. They are gospel teaching denominations. Ranting your version doesn't change the fact that several gospel preaching denomination disagree with you. The theologians of those denominations disagree with you. Live with the fact that mode of baptism is agree to disagree!!

What you post changes nothing about the issue!!!

Thank you for your kind words, dc! (I miss you in Bible Trivia, btw)

I have a lot of respect for you and your stance. I shall just simply leave you and Endoscopy with this chapter from the Bible and offer you both my heartfelt sisterly love in Christ.....

[h=1]Ephesians 4 King James Version (KJV)[/h]4 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?
10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,
18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:
19 Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
20 But ye have not so learned Christ;
21 If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:
22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.
26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
27 Neither give place to the devil.
28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.
29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

The bible is clear regardless of your ability to acknowledge the truth....I could care less what any particular denomination teaches or believes....baptism is the picture of death, burial and resurrection....sprinkling and or pouring in no way shape or form accurately portrays BURIAL......

Use your head for once and be honest with the picture it sets forth......not to mention the word itself = immerse, plunge under or dunk!

JESUS came UP OUT of the WATER....they used no pitcher of water on him like the idiotic movie or pictures portrays.....

How about love??? What does the bible say about love?
Love is a process of growth and maturity.....it has successes and failures as evidenced by Jesus asking Peter three times if Peter loved him....one minute Peter was saying he would die with Jesus and the very next minute claiming to not know who JESUS was....the full blown love of God is not automatically given...it takes time, growth, patience, endurance, maturity etc.....
