Obama said he won't pay troops or elderly

Obama said yesterday in a speech, that if the Republicans don't raise the debt ceiling, he won't send out social security checks to the elderly next month, or pay the troops, "and it will be the Republicans fault." !!!
He is using the elderly as leverage to spend more $$ or borrow more $$$ than we have evidently. He just gave a speech a few weeks ago saying that if the republicans would sign the fiscal cliff law, that he would discuss the debt ceiling in January with them !! He lied. He's not discussing anything with anyone. We now have a dictator, who does not yet have full power to be a dictator.
For anyone who doesn't know, social security checks for the elderly, are not "entitlement" checks. Welfare is "entitlement" $. The elderly worked all their life & had money taken out of their check, against their will, & it accumulated interest, & they recieve a check in their old age if they meet certain age etc gudelines, based on their lifetime wages. Like an IRA with no interest. If that amount were an Ira, the elderly would be multimillionaires by now.
The elderly need these checks. They worked all their life for them & earned them.I believe this tells us a lot about our president.

I find it sad how political parties always blame each other rather than rolling up their sleeves and actually doing something themselves :/

I'm praying about this, but let me tell you in 2006 then Senator Obama and Senator Biden both Voted AGAINST raising the debt ceiling. Saying how irresponsible it was. It just goes to show how much either party cares about the American people.

He already has states wanting to secede, and now he wants to stop paying the military?
Is he trying to create a coup d'e-tat?

They need each other for their show to go on and most of all they need the taxpayers money.

I agree 100 % with all of the above posts. This was barely mentioned on the news after the speech. I am just concerned the elderly will become the new "homeless" even if this scare passes. I feel like he will eventually say Social security is "broke", the end of it. Thanks you guys I feel better!!

Do you honestly think that out president makes decisions completely on his own. I think he has advisor's on how to brush his teath.....lol

As love of God is the driving force in each one of our ends, so is he the decider in our new beginnings. Let God do what He will however he must so that His love can be returned openly each and every day! If God where to personally invite you to a roller coaster ride of His own design would you not trust Him to make the scariest falls be followed by the most amazing climbs imaginable? If you can put on Gods armor, (And sometimes the seat buckle He may advise) and open your eyes each and every time you feel the drop, then you will be able to see the climb!

I don't know where you live Chatter... but the entire middle class America is becoming the new HOMELESS... age isn't a special social-bracket for economic disaster. Don't get me wrong... I LOVE OLD PEOPLE! Yet, they aren't really "special" in the "who is getting ripped off schemes" of the current political climate. I do think the agenda is is to 'Indoctrinate the young", "terrify the old", and hog-tie the rest with impossible circumstances until mere survival becomes submission.

Yes, this is the BIBLE STUDY FORUM and this topic is more appropriate for the NEWS FORUM... but what do you propose for a solution... the thread has begun... should everyone ignore it just because it was inadvertantly miscategorized?

Social Security and Medicare (two largely elderly entitlements) really need to be cut, if you want to get anything done on the budget problems.



We'll have to make cuts all across the board, or significantly increase taxation.

When the well is dry, it's dry.

Why didn't you just do that... as in take action...solve the problem... be the solution as opposed to making inauspicious remarks??
