Baptism for the dead. 1 Corinthians 15

I think thats mostly a Roman Catholic thing though so you may not have heard of it...
The Mormons so that. That is why they are so big on geneologies. They have people actually being dunked dozens or hundreds of times a day--baptized for some dead person from ages past.

I sometimes get the different religions mixed up. I thought it was RC because it seemed to go along with the idea of limbo.

To sum up: anytime we do not open our hearts and mind to all of God's word so we understand His entire purpose for us, and see to that we understand each verse of scripture God gives us in light of how it fits into His entire purpose, we can get off track. So we must listen to every verse, but never, ever, to one verse alone unless we are absolutely sure that our understanding of that individual verse fits into all of God.
