Other religions don't serve the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. As you rightly stated, Jesus is the way, the truth, and life- salvation is exclusively through Him and false gods cannot provide this. Other religions try to earn their way into Heaven is being "good" and observing religious rites, however simply being a good person is not enough to get to Heaven; scripture states that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and justification is by faith in Jesus. The rich ruler who professed to have kept the Ten Commandments from his youth thinking that was the way to obtain salvation was told to by Jesus sell his goods (something he held on to so dearly), pick up his cross and follow Him- he needed to receive the precious gift of salvation. Mark 10:21- Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me. Likewise, one has to be saved, pick up their cross, and live in faith and obedience to God to have eternal life (Heb 5:9), and our righteousness have to exceed that of the scribes and Pharisees (it should be true righteousness from God that is rooted on love).

Acts 4:12- Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. As this passage shows, salvation is in the name of Jesus but other religions don't call on Jesus Christ to be saved, nor do they have the correct view of Him.

Lastly, the bible says that God is a jealous God and He won't give His name and glory to another. Other religions, even some denominations under the Christian sect practice idolatry (worshiping statues and false gods, praying to the dead, exalting other people above God). All these are abomination to God and individuals that practice them will not inherit the kingdom.

Deu 18:10-12
10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,
11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

Isaiah 42:8- I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

Rev 21:8- But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

It's true. But there is alot more detail that is left out. The scriptures say you have to go before the Judge . So there are just so many scriptures you need to learn rollson. So don't think you have learned it all .

none of the other religions have the atoning sacrifice of Jesus upon the cross.

most are just works based religions that are based on the outdated eye for an eye principals sometimes called Karma and not the Gospel of salvation.

they enslave people to the Law and do not understand the saying that God wants mercy not sacrifice.

Many people claim to be Christian but also teach works based man made religions of this world that worship idols and not the ONE True God.

You are really asking 'why do sinners get to go heaven' which all Christians were.
It is because there is one God and so...one way...His way.
Remember He didn't have to provide any way but in His great mercy and love He came as a man and bore our sins upon Himself at the cross.
His way is what He provided. All of man's ways (their religions) are man's effort to make themselves right with God by their own works. So it's His Way (freely given) or man's (always a system of works).

perhaps you should read further in the rich young ruler passage where the disciples asked Jesus "then who can be saved?" Jesus responded "with men this is IMPOSSIBLE, but with God all things are possible ."
But go ahead, follow the path of works and see how far you get. After all it feeds the ego.

Simply because Jesus brings salvation from our sins.
Also, as you spoke to your self, why with so many religions?
Because Jesus brings truth amongst the confusion, the many beliefs.
Jesus said, I am the way, the truth and the life, light!
How good is God that He gave us the way out of darkness, payed the price of sin for us, and set the light so we may see.
Scripture says, he who is accursed cannot say, Jesus Christ is Lord come in the flesh!
It also says that the cross is foolishness to those who perish.
Of all the many religions of the world, we have been given the truth in Jesus, so that we all may recieve salvation, and not a spirit of confusion.
Continue to seek this truth in Jesus, and soon you will see, and ask, why would any refuse so great a gift?

God bless:)

Oh, bother. Sorry about that, Crossnote. Still, if you read Starfield's post it doesn't talk about a works-based salvation but I agree that the grace angle is underplayed.

Jesus is the Word, the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. God and Jesus, created us, in their image. Christ Jesus died for us, then rose 3 days later from the grave. I believe that we should give back to the creator what He created.

The word is clear, those who fear God and obey His commands willl go to heaven, BUT this comes from doing this first and formost IF you havent already!

A Call to Repentance
[SUP]Joel,2-12 [/SUP]“Now, therefore,” says the Lord,
“Turn to Me with all your heart,
With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.”
[SUP]13 [/SUP]So rend your heart, and not your garments;
Return to the Lord your God,
For He is gracious and merciful,
Slow to anger, and of great kindness;
And He relents from doing harm.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]Who knows if He will turn and relent,
And leave a blessing behind Him—

Here is more strong proof what the lord requires of His creation to be reconciled to Himself, it’s very simple but made so complicated by the heaps and heaps of pastors and ministries who have the nerve to say mankind does NOT have to repent to be saved.
They come with a simple plan that was concocted by many reformed preachers and bible scholars, making the way to the cross more of a simple confession you are a sinner, then accepting the great substitution Jesus miraculously made for them, but they fail to give any proof that the word of God let alone the King of Kings taught this non sense!
Many will fight with all they have to preserve their man made doctrines including original sin, which then gives them many excuses to ignore the powerful verse above as well as many more strong warnings to repent, turn, come broken in heart before the mercy seat, and hope and pray God will grant pardon!
Now if this was being preached in the church system today, and well understood by the saved in sin defenders, then the mess Christianity is in today would not be so, instead, the word of God would become real, and powerful, converting the lost soul, once in love with sin, rebellion and the world, now cleansed and purged of all filthiness, and wickedness, ready to receive the implanted word of God!
But today these verses are totally ignored, and replaced with a sin message, undermined by many, many, reformed errors, where simple repentance is lost in a sea of original sin, imputation, substitution, OSAS etc, producing a church that was called poor, blind and naked by Jesus Himself!
[SUP]2 Corinthians 6;17 [/SUP]The.refore
“Come out from among them
And be separate, says the Lord.
Do not touch what is unclean,
And I will receive you.”[SUP][[/SUP]
[SUP]d[/SUP][SUP]][/SUP]
[SUP]18 [/SUP]“I will be a Father to you,
And you shall be My sons and daughters,
Says the Lord Almighty.”[SUP][[/SUP]
[SUP]e[/SUP][SUP]][/SUP]
Act 26:20 But to those first in Damascus, and Jerusalem, and to all the country of Judea, and to the nations, I made known the command to repent and to turn to God, doing works worthy of repentance.
Tommy
PS. We must come to Jesus on His terms, not mans, I know many are taught the opposite today, they either were indoctrinated into these teachings at an early age, and refuse to even search the scriptures, search what the early church taught, or dig deep to see just how far off the mark many liberal translations of the Bible are.
When the reformation came about, around the year 1500, many denominations were formed that took these errors and built on them, leading to what we have today! Many will profess anything different from what their beloved denominations teach is heresy, and a lie, especially those who cling to Calvinism, or any form of it.
This I understand, and accept, as God predicted this would happen, when the few remnant come with the truth. But it’s a bitter pill to swallow, when you see so many sincere people, young and old, so angry and upset when the truth is presented to them, and they attack the messenger.
To me this shows just how far off the mark they are in their minds, they love the lie, refuse to hear anything else except the born sinner, Jesus sub plan, made so famous by the likes of Billy Graham, Ed Young, and many more mega preachers, selling a gospel that is totally backwards from what the early church and Christ taught.
Are we full of pride and arrogant to say these things? Are we evil, uncaring, and full of hate when we confront the wall of deception accepted as truth today?
I guess I can also say this about the many who cling to the saved IN sin message, repeat after me crowd, who has every excuse why they can sin with impunity, then just confess, and then continue as a vile sinner in heart, where purity and separation is a pipe dream never to be accomplished in this life, even though the whole council of God is against them.
Dig deep as commanded, have some confidence in the Lord to lead you into truth, not some ministry or church pastor you support, who clings to these errors for whatever reason.
The gospel according to godliness is a TO DO gospel, which can only be received and understood in its form and context when the sinner wakes up and does this:
James 1-21-22;
[SUP]21 [/SUP]So get rid of all uncleanness(repent) and the rampant outgrowth of wickedness, and in a humble (gentle, modest) spirit receive and welcome the Word which implanted and rooted [in your hearts] contains the power to save your souls.
[SUP]22 [/SUP]But be doers of the Word [obey the message], and not merely listeners to it, betraying yourselves [into deception by reasoning contrary to the Truth].!
1, You repent first and foremost, see 2 Corinthians 7-10-11.
2, Then if the repentance is real, and from the heart, godly sorrow as described in 2 Corinthians, you then can receive the implanted word of God, and understand it as written by God.
3, Now you become a passionate doer of the word, obeying God from your heart, cleansed and purified, broken and willing to learn and grow more, and more in His great truth.

For the Kingdom of God is not something we will look at and say 'there it is'. The Kingdom of God is within you'.

'For the kingdom of God is of peace, love and joy, in the holy Spirit'.

Jesus came to die for the sins of the whole world (John)

John writes his letters for people not to sin, yet if they do, they have a person who speaks to the father on man's behalf, Jesus.

Jesus forgives those who beat and crucified him.

So, of course it makes sense that nobody comes to the father except through him. Because in death, or in life, Jesus is Lord of all mankind. and God has handed ALL judgement to the Son.

If he forgave his very killers, how do you think he will treat men on the day of judgement?

Will it be with great understanding and insight, wisdom, mercy, love and forgiveness?

or will it be with great punishment without mercy?

I am a man who sins. So I hope that if I get pardoned any of my sins, that I can give that pardon up in place of another.

To some this is complete madness. But to me, it is what the kingdgom of peace love and joy are all about.

Self sacrifice, especially for others' sakes.

So then tell me, of other religions, can they live lives of forgiveness, of meekness, kindness, and forgiveness? Can they share peace, love, and joy?

God made two great covenants, with both Israel and Ishmael.

Read this, all of it;

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God[SUP][a][/SUP]; believe also in me. [SUP]2 [/SUP]My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? [SUP]3 [/SUP]And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. [SUP]4 [/SUP]You know the way to the place where I am going.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”
[SUP]6 [/SUP]Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.[SUP]7 [/SUP]If you really know me, you will know[SUP][b][/SUP] my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”
[SUP]8 [/SUP]Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.”
[SUP]9 [/SUP]Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? [SUP]10 [/SUP]Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority.Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. [SUP]11 [/SUP]Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the works themselves. [SUP]12 [/SUP]Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. [SUP]13 [/SUP]And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. [SUP]14 [/SUP]You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

This points to Jesus sharing in the exact same will as God. God's will, and character, is shown by Jesus. Because Jesus wills to do as the father asks him. He wills to be judge, and judge as the father would have him judge. He wills to die for men, as the father would have him die for men. He wills to teach and show the path, and have God's spirit of love, and give God's spirit of love, as the father would will him to do.

These men whom he spoke to, tell us to offer prayer and intercession for all men. That God's will is that all be saved, and shown the truths of life. Teh truths of God.

The truth is, God's spirit transcends all things.

To give for another's sake, and to abstain from things which corrupt and cause grief and pain, are the true fruits of the spirit of God. and if one fails or makes mistakes, there is Jesus there, who speaks to the father on our behalf.

Jesus shows the Father to us. Because Jesus behaves and thinks and does as the Father would do.

So in any action that Jesus acted, or any profession that he professed, or at any point he forgave, or at any circumstance, whatever he did, we can expect that this is how God will treat us. We can expect that the manner in which Jesus judged, will be the manner in which He will always judge, as God will judge.

Hence 'I and the Father are one'. And 'If you have seen me, you have seen the father'.

So it bears good witness to expect that even those who crucify christ will be treated with mercy, because Jesus treated them with mercy. Even those who are adulterous women will be treated with mercy, as Jesus has treated them with mercy. Even those who are blind will be made able to see. Even those who are deaf and lame will be made able to hear and walk.

Tommy, believing in original sin has no bearing at all on whether or not a person needs to repent of their sins before God. It's a given that we should.

What about these false religions? Nothing is stopping Muslims, Jews, Buddhist etc. from accepting Christ. For their sake, I wish they all would.
May they all be blessed, with the knowledge of Christ, before it is eternally to late.
