Our Father is so good to us. We have a fantastic Arbitrator. The word "arbitrator" in the Greek language means "a go between". It can mean an "intercessor" . The Greek word comes from the prime "meso" which means "in the middle". We have an Arbitrator Who is able to stand between you and the world. You are missing out on a lot in life, if you overlook this fact. The Arbitrator is able to help you deal with the problems of this troubled world. Open your Bibles to 1st Timothy.

1st Timothy 2:1 I exhort therefore, that first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty .

Christians are peace loving people. As long as you don't infringe upon out rights, we won't infringe on the rights of others.

1st Timothy 2:3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God out Saviour; 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

It is God;s will that all be saved ( 2nd Peter 3:9 ). The truth sets you free from the problems of this world.

1st Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,

Stay focused on the Word, and you have nothing to fear. The Mediator is there to step in between you and the problems of this world. Talk to Him. We are coming into some perilous times. That is why we covering this subject. You will need your Arbitrator.

1st Timothy 2:6 Who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

Those that love and serve Him do not face the troubles of the world alone. We have an Arbitrator. He is Jesus Christ. Let's continue our study in Hebrews.

Hebrews 8:1 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an High Priest, Who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;

Don't ever forget where your Arbitrator is situated. He is at the right hand of God. What a comfort!

Hebrews 8:2 A Minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the LORD pitched, and not man. 3 For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this Man have somewhat also to offer.

Jesus had somewhat to offer all right. He offered Himself for us. His blood covers our sins, if we believe.

Hebrews 8:4 For if He were on earth, He should not be a priest, seeing that there are priest that offer gifts according to the law: 5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make a tabernacle for, "See," saith He, "That thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount."

The tabernacle , and everything within the tabernacle, was intended to show man how to worship and communicate with God. The tabernacle was where man could atone for his sins. The new tabernacle is Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 8:6 But now hath He obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also He is the Mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

The latter is a better tabernacle, because it is heavenly not earthly. The tabernacle of Moses served a purpose, but the tabernacle of Christ is much better. You have no reason to fear. You and your Arbitrator can handle the problems of this world, or the problems of powers on high. Jesus is even able to get between you and Satan.

Hebrews 8:7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. 8 For finding fault with them, He saith, "Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, when i will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

The new covenant is our Arbitrator. Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 8:7 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in My covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the LORD.

The children of Israel failed the covenant the Lord made with them miserable. While God was communicating the law to Moses on Mount Sinai, they were making a golden calf to be their god. Don;t you fail the new covenant by refusing to believe on Jesus Christ. Or worse, by believing the antichrist is Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the LORD; I will put My laws into their minds, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to Me a people: 11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour. and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for all shall know Me, from the least to the greatest.

On the first day of the millennium every knee will bow and every tongue confess Jesus Christ is Lord.

Hebrews 8:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more."

There is a condition. You must believe and repent to be forgiven. If you won't, He has another place for you.

Hebrews 8: 13 In that He saith, "A new covenant," He hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

The crucifixion of Jesus Christ brought about the new covenant. Let's continue on in Chapter Nine verse fourteen as we continue our study concerning our Arbitrator.

Hebrews 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, Who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from head works to serve the living God?

The traditions of men are dead works. They will take you no where. If anything, they will lead you away from God's truth. Stay focused on the World of God. Be ready to stand against the lies of Satan. You are ready for some heavy duty plowing, because you have the Arbitrator in your corner. There is nothing you can't handle with His help.

Hebrews 9:15 And for this cause He is the Mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

Not only do the elect receive the promise of eternal inheritance, through teaching truth, they bring the possibility of eternal life to their brothers and sisters who are lost in this world of darkness. What a blessing.

Hebrews 9:16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. 17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

If you are left in someone's will, you can't "cash in" until the person dies. Jesus paid the price on the cross for you. "Cash in". It is your inheritance. He is your Mediator .

Hebrews 9:18 Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood. 19 For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the vlood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,

The first testament wad dedicated with blood of calves and goats. The last testament was dedicated with the blood of Jesus Christ, the sacrifice for one and all time.

Hebrews 9:20 Saying, "This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you." 21 Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle , and all the vessels of the ministry. 22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

Our sins today are covered by the blood of Jesus.

Hebrews 9:23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices then these.

You are on earth; however, you have an Arbitrator Who is in heaven. He sits at the right hand of God.

Hebrews 9:24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:

Did He do this for you? Yes! More importantly, Jesus paid the price for all of us. And, when you plant a seed that brings one of God's children back to Him, you are a vessel your Father can utilize .

Hebrews 9:25 Nor yet that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others. 26 For then must He often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.

Can you imagine that? He was perfectly innocent. But He was willing to die on the cross for us.

Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

There is no reincarnation. Our flesh dies one time.

Hebrews 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that took for Him shall He appear the second time without sin, unto salvation.

Our Arbitrator is returning as King of kings and Lord of lords. He stands between you and the world, but you must do things His way. Stay focused on His Word. In conclusion, lets turn to chapter 12.

Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and sin which doth so easily beset us and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.

Paul spoke colloquial Greek. The word "cloud" means "a large number". As we approach these end times there are a larder and larder number of witnesses. You are one of them. You will witness against the antichrist. Paul likens the struggle of these witnesses as to an Olympic foot race. You better unload the troubles of this world, or they will slow you down. The Arbitrator will get between you and the troubles of this world, if you will let Him. Skip ahead to verse twenty two with me.

Hebrews 12:22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,

There will be a cloud of angels with Christ, when He returns. We are talking about the end times. beloved.

Hebrews 12:23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of Just men made perfect, 24 And to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaketh better things then that of Abel.

The blood of Abel's sacrifices can't cover your sins, but the blood of Jesus Christ can. He is your Arbitrator .

Hebrews 12:25 See that ye refuse not Him That speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused Him That spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from Him That speaketh from Heaven:

Don't refuse your Arbitrator. He sits in heavenly places at the right hand of God. He is able to get between you and the problems of this world. He is able to step between you and Satan, if you don't refuse Him.

One of the truths within this lecture is how the Son is the only Mediator between God & man by specifying the man, Christ Jesus.

The importance of the Son being the only Arbitrator can be seen in the purpose of prayer.

John 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

That means the Holy Spirit cannot make these intercessions directly Himself if the Son is to truly have this glory of making these intercessions for us as He is the One answering our prayers.

That is the contrariness of modern Bibles today when they change the testimony in Romans 8:26-27 to imply that the Holy Spirit really does make these intercessions Himself, but if you keep to the King James Bible, it lines up with the rest of scripture regarding Jesus being the only Mediator between God and man, specifying the man, Christ Jesus.

Read on & see how.

Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

That is why "itself" was used in verse 26 because of that truth in the next verse in 27 of the Word of God being the "he" that searches our hearts and knows the mind of the Spirit.

Romans 8:27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

So the KJV has it right in keeping the testimony of the Son in how these intercessions from the Holy Spirit are made and that is by the Son knowing the mind of the Spirit which is why "with groanings which cannot be uttered" is written, meaning no sound at all, thus there is no need for God to use His gift of tongues as a prayer language.

Look at this next verse:

Matthew 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. 8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

Now if that be true for us: then why does the Holy Spirit has to say anything to God by route of tongues as a prayer language?

Plus: note how the Holy Spirit will speak:

John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Matthew 10:19 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. 20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.

Now if the Spirit only speaks what He hears, then that would mean God is praying back to Himself through the Holy Spirit by way of tongues as a prayer language? Not likely.

So when we apply the OP in how there can be no one else making this intercession in order for the Father to be glorified in the Son for the Son in answering these prayers, then with His help, we may understand why "itself" was used in the KJV in keeping with the truths in the rest of the scripture, because the Holy Spirit is not making these intercessions directly Himself, but by the Son knowing the mind of the Spirit is how these intercessions are being made with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Believers need to not believe every spirit but test them to see if they are of God or not because there are supernatural tongues in the world that is just vain and profane babblings that comes with no interpretation whereas God's gift of tongues was always of men of other lips that can come with interpretation.

Would God want us to abstain from all appearances of evil? Then He would never have His tongues be used as a prayer language, mimicking the supernatural tongues as babbling nonsense that was in the world before the gospel came.

Isaiah 8:19 And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?

Better to know what you had prayed for to give God thanks in Jesus's name for answered prayers than allow a thief to steal that prayer time away from you & the Lord with babbling nonsense, because the Son, Jesus Christ, is really is the only Mediator between us & God.

John 10:1Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. 2 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. 4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. 5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

Would not tongues that comes without interpretation be the voice of strangers?

Do not tongue speakers preach seeking tongues from the Holy Spirit Himself?

...7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. 8 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. 9 I am the door:

By disregarding the commandment of His invitation by climbing up another way & thus ignoring the only Mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus, and thus seeking to receive the Holy Spirit "again" after a sign of tongues: wayward believers are allowing a thief to come inbetween them in following a stranger's voice.

Believers need His help to repent and narrow the way back to the straight gate in getting to know God the Father through the Son.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. 7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

Luke 13:24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. 25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: 26 Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. 27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. 28 There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out. 29 And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.

The importance of repentance can be seen here, otherwise, wayward believers will be missing out on the Marriage Supper of the Lamb.

But take heart because Jesus will lose nothing of all the Father has given Him.

John 6: 39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. 40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

It is because of the prophesied falling away from the faith:

1 Timothy 4:1Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

So what does that mean for the sheep that followed the stranger's voice that gets left behind?

John 10:14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. 15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

Because of the prophesied falling away from the faith and because Jesus will lose nothing of all the Father has given Him, is why God will judge His House first at the pre tribulatioanl rapture event so as to restore the wayward that will be left behind to the path of righteousness for His name's sake, and they will be made to hear His voice and be of the one fold and one shepherd. Hurrah for Jesus!

But it would be better for believers to go before that throne of grace for help to repent & be delivered from this snare of the devil that is stealing your time away from Him in prayer.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness....19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. 20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. 21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.....24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, 25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; 26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

I prefer the word 'Advocate' as it conveys an aggressive arbitrator/mediator on our behalf.
