Part - 1 Can Jesus Christ Second Return Really Happen at ANY Moment?

The second coming of Christ! Can it really happen tomorrow? Or, how about right now….at this very moment? Is it possible? Well, contrary to what most Christians believe, Christ’s second coming, or, “the rapture“, as some call it, cannot happen tomorrow. Nor can it happen this very second. Yes, you read correctly! It’s impossible!! Christ’s second return (Please note the scriptures ONLY speak of a 2nd return, not a 3rd or a 4th.) can ONLY happen if the signs that God has given us in His word have taken place. Now with that said, as of this posting; 2 Feb 2013, I can say without any doubt in my mind…make that, the scriptures guarantee, that Christ’s 2nd return WILL NOT, no…….CAN NOT happen any sooner than 2 Feb 2016!! That’s right!!! The scriptures IT!! And the scriptures will prove it !!

So do I have your attention yet? Good!! That’s what I was hoping for. Now before you start calling me a blasphemer and a whole bunch of other names, please hear me out and read this entire post. I am not crazy! And no, I am not dealing with any secret codes hidden in the bible. The truth is clearly written in the Holy Scriptures. And the scriptures clearly states that certain events MUST take place before the coming of the Lord. And until those events happen, Jesus CAN NOT RETURN!!! Why? Because, it is “…impossible for God to lie…”, Heb 6:18.

PLEASE NOTE: I am NOT saying I know WHEN Jesus will return! But I do know, based on God’s word, when He will NOT return!

As church going families, I’m sure we all have been taught that Jesus’ second coming could happen any day now…even any second. And I must admit, for a long time I was living with the fear that, at any moment Christ could come back to earth to pass judgment on us all. But is the ‘any day rapture’ doctrine supported by the Holy Scripture? Does the bible really teach that Christ’s second return could happen at any second, without any warning or signs whatsoever? Is that what your doctrine teaches? Let’s not forget where ALL of our doctrine is to come from;

All scriptures is given by the inspiration of God, and is profitable for DOCTRINE, for REPROOF, for CORRECTION, for instruction in righteousness:”, II Tim 3:16.

The purpose of this post is to (1); recognize and understand the signs and warnings given to us that must precede Christ’s second coming, and (2); look at the timeline of the events to take place before His second coming.

Now, as always, please…before we get started, go and get your Bible, DO NOT TAKE MY WORD FOR ANYTHING! Take your time, study and read this lesson for yourself and do as Paul says, “Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.”, I Thess 5:21. This is a good one.

PART 1

Signs and Warnings: The Abomination of Desolation

Why is it, most Christians either ignore or, just not have been made aware of, the many warnings given to us by the prophets, apostles and Jesus Christ Himself concerning His second coming. After all, who better would know more about these upcoming events than Jesus and the disciples he told directly? Throughout the entire bible, even as far back as Genesis, God gives us many warnings and clues’ concerning Christ’s second coming. But it is obvious those clues have gone unnoticed.
If the pastors had given the church the warnings given throughout the entire bible, what we have today, known as the ‘rapture theory’ would not exist.

Let’s read some of those warnings for ourselves and see if the ‘any moment rapture’ doctrine is supported by scriptures. We will start with what is probably, the most important warning Christ ever gave to His church, and reiterated later by His disciples, yet most Christians are totally unaware of it. Let’s read about this ‘abomination of desolation’ Jesus speaks of.

In the 24th chapter of the book of Matthew, Jesus’ disciples asked the question, ‘When the end of the world would be and what will be the sign of His coming?’ After first telling them to let no man deceive them, something that has undoubtedly occurred, and several other warnings, Jesus went on to say this:

Matt 24:15. When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

Now Jesus would not have given us this warning unless there was something in the book of Daniel, that would let us know who, or how, to recognize this person He calls the Abomination of Desolation. Because whomever he is, he must play a pretty important role in Christ second coming. It should also be noted that during Jesus time, there was no New Testament. The Old Testament was the only scripture available that He could refer them to for finding the information He spoke of. So for those that believe the OT no longer applies to our lives today, you are sadly mistaken. For in them lies many answers to future events.

The closest phrase found to the ‘abomination of desolation’ referred to in the 24th chapter of Matthew, is found in the 11th chapter of book of Daniel. Let’s read what we can find out about this person, the ‘abomination of desolation’. Let’s also not forget, these are all future events Christ’s directs us to read and understand, leading to His the 2nd coming.

Dan 11:31. And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.

Now to be perfectly honest, the above verse is a little vague, but there is some information we can use to find out more. What we can make out of this verse is that, (1) the abomination that maketh desolate will be placed, or set up somewhere, (2) the sanctuary will be polluted, and (3) the daily sacrifice will be taken away. Let’s search the scriptures, like it instructs us, and find more information.

If we read a little above, in verse 27, we find that the abomination being spoken of is actually one of two kings;

Dan 11:27. And both of these kings hearts shall be to do mischief, and they shall speak lies at one table; but it shall not prosper: for yet the end shall be at the time of the appointed.

So now we know that the abomination of desolation is referred to as a ‘king’ . Now let’s continue past the 31st verse to verse 36, still speaking about the abomination of desolation, and find what Daniel has to say about this ‘king’.

Dan 11:36. And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and he shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished:

37. Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.

Now we are learning a little more information about this ‘abomination of desolation’, which I will refer to as the (AOD). We now know that he will do whatever he will, or have complete control, and that he will exalt and magnify himself above all gods. Let’s search the NT to see if we can find a similar description for an individual;

II Thes 2:3. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there comes a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

4. Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Here we find in the NT the same individual described in the OT, let’s compare;

OT: Dan 11:36. “…and he shall exalt himself…above every god…”
NT: II Thes 2:3. “…and exalteth himself above all that is called God…”
OT: Dan 11:37. “…for he shall magnify himself above all.”
NT: II Thes 2:4. “…shewing himself that he is God.”

Again let’s go back to the book of Daniel for more information about the AOD.

Dan 7:21. I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them.

Dan 7:25. And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws.

And again in the NT:

Rev 13:6. And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name,…
Rev 13:7. And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

Let’s compare the two again:

OT: Dan 7:21. “…the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them.”
NT: Rev 13:7. “And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them…”
OT: Dan 11:36. “…And the king shall do according to his will…”
NT: Rev 13:7. “…and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations…”
OT: Dan 7:25. “…And he shall speak great words against the most High.…”
NT: Rev 13:6. “… And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God…”

At this point we can say, without a doubt, the person we have been describing in the OT and NT is the same person. For there can be only one person that will do ALL of the following: (1) exalt himself above all that is called God, (2) make war with the saints and prevail against them, (3) do according to his will, and (4) have power over ALL kindreds, tongues and nations. The person we have been describing is the “Abomination of Desolation” Jesus warned us about in the 24th chapter of Matthew. Let’s look at a few more very important verses to prove we are describing the same individual.

Dan 7:8. I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.

Dan 7:20. And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.

21. I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;

So now we have just tied in another fact: the AOD is also referred to as a ‘horn’. The same horn that made war with the saints and prevailed against them, was also the little horn that had the look of a man; with eyes and a mouth and spake great things. Let’s look at one last description.

Let’s read again the first warning we found in the OT about the AOD.

Dan 11:31. And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.

The part of the verse to concentrate on is,

“…and shall take away the daily sacrifice,…”

Let’s read this same description in another verse.

Dan 8:9. And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land.

11. Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away…

Once again, the AOD is referred to as a horn. Actually what we have is a very important piece of information. Let’s read again what the AOD or, “little horn” will one day do;

“…and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away…”

So why is this one sign so important you may ask? Well, there have been many that have said marvelous things against the God of gods, or have even said they were god. And there have been many that have tried to rule or take over the world. But what makes this sign so special is that it is something that has not taken place in over 1,300 years. There has not been one official sacrifice offered at the temple in Jerusalem since the completion of the Dome of the Rock in 691a.d. This is the one sign that will set the stage for all of the events to happen prior to Christ second coming.

What God is telling us, through His servant Daniel, is that there will be a time when the daily sacrifices will be taken away. But what sacrifices could He be talking about? There are no ‘daily sacrifices’ being offered at the temple in Jerusalem today. And that is correct, there are no daily sacrifices being offered at the temple. Not yet!!! So what can this mean? Quite simply, in order for the daily sacrifices to be taken away…at some point they must once again be started. Understand what I just said. I’m going to say that one more time: IN ORDER FOR THE DAILY SACRIFICES TO BE TAKEN AWAY, THEY MUST FIRST BE STARTED. REMEMBER IT!! IF YOU REMEMBER NOTHING ELSE YOU READ, REMEMBER THIS ONE THING!!! And trust me, if you go to, ‘The Temple Institute’ web site, you will find that the preparation to begin the ‘daily sacrifices‘, is well on it’s way. It’s going to happen!

We have searched quite a few scriptures about the AOD, so before moving on to the timeline of the upcoming events, let’s review all of the information God has provided for us concerning this man, the “Abomination of Desolation”.

We know he will call himself great, even above the God of gods:

OT: Dan 11:36. “…and he shall exalt himself…above every god…”
NT: II Thes 2:3. “…and exalteth himself above all that is called God…”
OT: Dan 11:37. “…for he shall magnify himself above all.”
NT: II Thes 2:4. “…shewing himself that he is God.”

We know he will wage war with the saints and win:

OT: Dan 7:21. “…the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them.”
NT: Rev 13:7. “And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them…”

We know he will have complete control:

OT: Dan 11:36. “…And the king shall do according to his will…”
NT: Rev 13:7. “…and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations…”

We know he is referred to as a ‘king’ and as a ‘horn’.

OT: Dan 7:21. “I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints…”
OT: Dan 11:36. “And the king shall do according to his will…”

And finally, we know he will take away the ‘daily sacrifices’.

OT: Dan 11:31. And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary
of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.
OT: Dan 8:11. Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him
the daily sacrifice was taken away…

What we now have are the signs to help identify the “The Abomination of Desolation”; that Christ, the prophet Daniel and the apostle Paul and John warned us about. And by searching the scriptures, we now understand, just as Jesus said; “…whoso readeth, let him understand:…” Now that we have a way of telling who this individual is, we can now look at the timeline he will be operating on.

You are on the right track. That is what God instructs us to do; "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good." 1 Thes.5:21.

I pray God opens up your understanding.

When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

Shows how little I know, I always thought the above refered to nuclear weapons in the holy place(Jerusalem):(
