I think if anyone here feels they have to stand up in the middle of a presentation (of any kind) and insultingly disrupt the person's delivery, they should contact Barack Obama........ he is looking for people like you.
I agree, I saw this happen once and it was a great lesson for all involved...there are reasons why we have instructions to follow in the Body......what I would like to know in this story is where the other church leaders were at.

My only exception is if you are the Pastor and have a guest speaking, you can and should stop them if they get into the ditch...

I had a guy try to date set "the rapture" and invited the people in our fellowship to join him...he probably felt like a rapture happened because he was out of the door in the twinkling of an eye...

No, he may be teaching what YOU feel is the wrong interpretation..... or taking a point to extremes that are beyond "tradition" as we accept it, but that is really all we can say.

Sometimes they may be more correct than the one heckling them.

Why because your the only perfect pastor who never errors?
Nope, not all, God trusts the local pastor to keep doctrine correct

The guy was trying to date set "the rapture" and gave an actual date...his microphone was turned off and I allowed 3x times to correct his error....He refused, so he was asked to leave.

I had an evangelist friend I had known for many years and trusted to preach the truth come in once and he had gotten hold of KJV only foolishness...he started telling the people they were sinners for using anything else...he was likewise given the ole heave ho...

See bro, its not about being the perfect pastor but understanding the perfect word, which says I will be judged for what people hear...James 3.1

3 Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, knowing that as such we will incur a stricter judgment.

Had another guy start saying that Jesus was a great man and that was all, so we should place our trust only in God...yeah he went buh-bye as well

in the Body, it works 'both ways', and it's always about listening/discerning, and then
following as Jesus leads,
but
we must prove our Love and Courage and real commitment to 'make such a stand for
righteousness sake, as our Holy Father commands us to do at the right time, His Time -
our 'courage/faith' can only come to us through the Faith that He has given to us...

I'm basing my replies on what the author wrote here... on this it was clear that he missed the first and great Commandment out. It is not open to interpretation... now if it had been a matter of what loving thy neighbour as thyself entailed then I would concede but this is blatant. So I would stand up and remind the man of what the Messiah said.... come what may.

And yet I imagine you probably teach there is going to mass surprise floating of people off into space while others stare up in the air, scratching their heads....... as though, despite not knowing the date, it is nonetheless a fact.

and I can assure you that the OP is actually splitting frog hairs over something....the truth be told, we only heard her story an wee not there for all of it...

The Bible teaches you how to handle this and without having to be the center of public attention.

Well I can see that trying to place a actual date is frutile, I'm not a KJV only but there's no doubt in my mind I can use it and learn something from it. for one Jesus didn't just start his ministry at thirty years old, that's a error for sure? preach it if you may but that is a error in translation.

what bible do you teach from when infront of the congregation and or read?

Indeed those verses are correct.

I teach and preach out the NASB and tell people the most important translation/version of the Bible is the one they will keep reading...

Of course I don't believe in that spook thing.

But, as Meggido just said in #28, sometimes not all of the story get put out there. Do you see how you let it float as though you were not against Rapture Preaching, but rather against the fact that the visiting preacher you invited was trying to set a date for it?

Has anyone noticed that at the "right-&-left judgement", we are not asked how much we loved God.... but, how much we loved our neighbors in need?

Christ was often the center of 'public attention' good and bad - also hub and myself have been the
objects of 'public attention' good and bad' - Jesus told/taught us not to give a damn, for we
were following Him and His ways...

No wonder there is so much heresy.

We are commenting on the op and each entitled to share our thoughts. It seems some are willing to speak out here on cc but would allow a man or woman to error greatly elsewhere. That said I stand by my replies and bid you and the other man a good day.

I agree with that read the one you keep reading, even the NASB has issues what's up with the "for David" and "of David", wasn't the 1901 good enough "unto David", I mean people keep tweaking things and the next thing happens is, it looses its context meaning and takes on a whole new one.

Yeah I did it on purpose, to see who was going to get that the OP might be over reaching..."

Nice catch Willie...you remind of a few elders I used to have coming up through the ministry...we need ones like you...

in my opinion the NASB is the closest to the original languages. I use many different versions while studying....except for paraphrased [the message] and others like it.

I kind of imagine her preacher probably said something like. "One of the most important commands Jesus ever gave was to love your neighbor."
