I was listening to a testimony by Andrew Wommack, about his son. He died and was already in the morgue. Andrew and his wife have been praying for a miracle and have been praising and giving thanks to God for 4-5 hours. Their son did come back to life. They were in the morgue! He got up and well, he's an adult now.

So, here's a question for us all. Jesus did say that we will do the same miracles He did, and even greater ones. Do you still believe that the followers of Jesus can STILL raise people from the dead? If you see it happen right before your eyes, will you be surprised?

Incoming poll.

You give the testimony that shows that the parents did not do the raising yet your question makes it sound like the believer is doing the raising. But they are just doing the believing. The apostle Peter said that it was not he that did a work but by believing in the Name of Jesus.

Come on. It's pretty obvious what Abing means.

Personally, I would really struggle with it. I think I'd believe, but it would still mess with my head like nobody's business. Certainly, I'd have to tell my heart to tell my mind to shut up for a moment.

I only posted what came to my mind. Such as yourself on the other hand, knew what she meant. So it's good that there are such like yourself who can help out such as me :).

To be honest, I'd probably be flabbergasted too. But that's okay because my spirit will be rejoicing that it happened.

I have listened to that story and what struck me was the fact that his son wasn't living for the Lord at the time either. So,it appears the Spirit of God moved through Andrew and his wife to intervene on the kids behalf.

Andrew remembered a prophecy concerning his son and so he spoke to the Lord back to Him this word.

Luke 1:37 (NASB)
[SUP]37 [/SUP] "For nothing will be impossible with God."

The word "nothing" is rhema ..same word as man shall live by every word ( rhema ) that comes from the mouth of God

interesting....

I voted no because I am a firm believer that anything is possible with God, I have no doubt if God willed it we can walk on water turn water into wine heal the sick even pray for it not to rain for three years, I believe in all of this without ever seeing it no evidence of it in my life or in life at all yet I fully believe without seeing.

Well actually I cannot say I believe without seeing because true enough I haven't seen this with my own eyes but I see it through the eyes of my heart

Also the title of the thread is not what I was saying no to, I think the poll and the thread title should say the same thing as to not cause confusion

Jesus had power over nature because He created it and when He was baptized by John He was filled with the Holy Spirit without measure but we are not.
Having said that what if God wants to confirm His Word with signs following? Would that be okay with you? :)

Ok, of all of us answering this post, how many have gone to the morgue, stood beside a corpse, and prayed for that person to be raised from the dead?

I have to say that I have not.

No I haven't but if one doesn't believe we can do such things i would consider the reason why. If it is because we have not ever seen it we must ask ourselves do we believe because we have seen or do we see because we believe? Some say it is unblblical which is not true Jesus promised us we would do greater things than what he did and God is the same yesterday today and tomorrow and how many times has the scriptures said how anything is possible with God that if we ask in his sons name he would do it that faith can move mountain?

Act 26:8
Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead ?

Nope..not me!..

I think it's one of the gifts of the Spirit in manifestation....probably a combination of them actually now that I think about it..it would take the gift of faith....working of miracles....and they would have to be healed of whatever killed them..so gifts of healings too

But this is all done by the Spirit of God using people as He wills..we can't do it without Him.

I think more of the raising of the dead is being seen in 3rd world countries. I have not yet been lead by the Lord to raise the dead and to be perfectly honest it is a scary subject for me. I know and believe in healing and raising of the dead but when it is God wanting me to do it then it is a different story lol. I think it is in the back of my mind that I might fail and look like an idiot. I know that is the wrong way to think but just being honest.

I have been healed of things instantly and have been blessed but to do it to others seems to be a lot harder.

I have been to Andrew Wommacks conferences and I can tell you I don't see anything from him that you are saying here. He is a devout Christian and loves the Lord.

Some people will always see exactly what they expect. You expect God....... some others don't.

It is a grace-hating spirit that is behind a lot of the slanderous attacks on the people of God..it's the nature of the beast.

I don't think it is so much grace-"hating", as it is grace-"fearing." I honestly think some people are afraid that what Jesus did, and told us to trust in, just isn't enough without us doing something to give it real power. I believe they honestly think God needs our help with Salvation, or He can't manage to make it happen.

True!....when you take the set of rules away from us it gets scary because now what are we going to do...you are probably right in that it is fear of the unknown..fear of unrestraint...the dreaded lawlessness that is around us...we will all end up in hell now...yikes!

our Father tells/teaches us that we who truly Love Him will NOT 'sup' at devils tables -
and accept cunningly devised fables, for they are not able to pass the Scripture test.....

the powers of darkness prevail and will lead many to a false salvation -
no one is exempt from the powers of dark invocations without Jesus Christ's Holy Power.....

hard to believe, but God tries to share what is His, but most don't have time to look away -
from mammon and electronics and so far in the contest, TV.......

Seek, while the Lord's Truth can still be found.........
