I have one question about something that happened to me. When I started my walk with Jesus, I was asked to accompany the final year schlars of the Sunday School camp. It was my first willingness to do something for Jesus. So off we went to this CAMP in the Drakensberg mountains...

There were about 50 students (scholars) and 10 group-leaders of which I was one.... As we departed from the church, i chose the five boys in the back of the bus to be my "group". I did that because I could relate to them best... I was also one of the guys that sat in the back of the bus... THE MAIN MACK... You know what I mean.

Ok so, when we boarded the bus a dear girl came to me and said... "Oom (uncle) Cobus, good luck thrying to convert one of those boys. And believe me you are going to need it, they are WILD ones"... So we arrived at the mountains some 300 km away, and we had our first session...

In this session everybody had to go their seperate ways and read Matthew 14:25 to 30... Where Jesus walked on the water and Peter walked to Him.... Then we each had to choose any verse and memorise it... After 30 minute we gathered in our groups again and this is when the counselling started, and the first miracle happened in my life..

Know this...I KNEW NOTHING ABOUT THE WORD OF GOD WHEN I SAT DOWN WITH THOSE YOUNG MEN! (Around 17 and 18 years old) there was also another older man STEPHAN, with us in the group and he was appointed as my assistant. Just happened like that...I cannot say why...

So now we are together and the "counselling/teaching" should start. For the first time in my life I prayed with whatever faith I had, and I asked...Lord help us this weekend, AMEN!

Then i saked the boys what verses they memorised and they were very dissappointing, i wonder if any of them ever read the peace. But then one asked me a good question... And he said:..."Oom, What is the use we try to be christians, who will take us seriously, we are so young?"... I said... AND I WAS AMAZED AT WHAT CAME FROM MY MOUTH>>>> "Do you know that the Lord had a young prophet, and He also thought he was to young? God said to that prophet..... " Do not say you are too young, for you shall go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee, thou shalt speak."... Jer 1:7. But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.

Now seeing that I NEVER HEARD THAT VERSE, nor EVER read that verse, How did I quote that verse, and How did I know where it was in the Bible, and I read it for them STRAIGHT AFTER I QOUTED IT!..... On that moment. that very moment as we read the Word there, the whole situation changed... ALL OF A SUDDEN I KNEW GOD WAS THERE!!!!

Now any one can pull this to pueces if you like, but the ones that have something of scripture to share with me, PLEASE explain this what happened there!

For our young ones... Form that moment on all five boys had love for Oom Cobus. They paid attention to all I said and I quoted more Bible than I EVER read that weekend. They ATE UP THE WORD OF GOD, as it came from me, WHOM NEVER READ OR HEARD WHAT HE WAS SAYING... And they ate it...

We were there for four days, and just before we came back the Sunday afternoon, the minister opened the floor for witnesses... The most special thing in my life happened then.... When a lot of children witnessed how the Lord touched their hearts, my five young men stood up like one man... They walked to the front and their witnesses had me IN HEAVEN!!!!

I witnessed the greatest mirackle of ALL time that day... I saw how Jesus change people! AND IT HAPPENED WHEN JESUS WAS USING ME!!!! Man i cried rivers.... There was not a single dry eye in that hall, everybody was overwelmed by the GREAT GRACE OF GOD!!!!

I have to say what one of the Boys said... He said this looking straight at the girl..." Elmari (a girl that is the leader of their school's youth for Christ) we always thought you were a strange girl, and that you were fake. We teased, joked, and blashemed all around and at you, but you always showed pain and humbleness.... Something we thought was weakness.... SORRY!!! I ask you, please forgive us, and Elmari NOBODY will talk bad about you EVER again at school. We were the weak ones, and we were the fake ones, thank you all for this weekend, I am now awakened about my foolishness "... I believed that these five guys will not allow blasphemy in their schoo again....

I took a weeks leave to support them at school, and that went terribly wrong, for MY AWAKENING on what lies ahead...But that is another experience ... call it the VDM revenge... I was kicked off the school property... by you know who... But the boys triamphed, in Jesus.

My question is this...How could I qoute the Word of God if I did not even know it was written in the Bible? And then I would also just open the Bible at that place to read it to them.

It is the Holy Spirit. :)
I have sruggled all my life in reading comprehension as I have dislexia, both in reading and comprehensive.
Im a lousy speller as well. :)
I could read small amounts of the bible, but only small amounts.
Jesus was always close helping me though in my walk.
A few years ago, Jesus put it on my heart to read the bible, beginning to end.
I never thought I could do this, but trusted in Jesus and obeyed.
I finished the entire bible a few months ago, I knw moswt dont see this as any big deal, but for me, It was the greatest anf most healing thing I had ever done in Jesus.
The most amazing part was much of what Jesus had set on my heart through out my life, I found in scripture and was confermed in scripture.
The glory of God stood out so beautifully, witnessing to His faithfulness in the Holy Spirit.
There is scripture as well telling us we recieve all we need and that we are not to worry about what we shall say,the Holy Spirit will give what is needed at that time.
All needed is given in Jesus through the Holy Spirit. :)
Wether through scripture, witness or His word set upon ones heart.

In Jesus, God bless.

Mark 13:11
(11) But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.

You must have heard it from somewhere and the Holy Spirit brought it out

Laodicea, I NEVER heard it before. I was not a churchgoing person, i did not listen when i was forced to go to some other christian thing...like in the Army when a Chapelin would come to base. I did not give ANY attention. I was not in Sunday school, did not read my bibles. I never knew Jeremiah was a young man. Untill that day when I heard myself saying these things... This is why I NEED explainations...But Pickles might be on to something, I beleive it was the Holy Spirit that worked through me, and I believe He still comes and goes even today...I believe this is what happens, becasue I am convinced if He stays and does not leave then the body (flesh) He is in CANNOT sin becasue He makes that flesh (body/person) holy as God is holy.
And I believe we are made holy some times in our life on our WAY to his fulness in us. But when He moves in at the end of our salvation HE FILLS AND STAYS...

Luke 12:12
For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour and moment what [you] ought to say.

  1. John 14:26
But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.
John 14:25-27 (in Context) John 14 (Whole Chapter)
There's another verse I can't find right now about when they come to persecute you because of Jesus don't worry about what you ought to say cause the Holy Spirit will come and talk for you.

Wonderful story thank you!

they were about to face their deaths.

So how do we know in any instances in scripture that Jesus or God was talking to us? So youre saying that the Helper already came for us? That backs his opinion. Or are you saying that the Helper only came for the apostles and not for us? So do we not have to be ready to give our lives for Jesus? Or do we not have to face that cuz its a thing of the past?

[size=+1]could have been something stored from forgotten memory; BUT the fact the right scripture was called up just when it was needed for these kids, I would say, the touch of the Holy Spirit was with you all that day guiding you all. It was a edifying experience it seems. Good for you.. But please seem up your study in the Bible... I would say the Holy Spirit helped you that moment.[/size]

Luke 19

And it came to pass, when he was come nigh to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount called the mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples, 30Saying, Go ye into the village over against you; in the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither. 31And if any man ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord hath need of him. 32And they that were sent went their way, and found even as he had said unto them. 33And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof said unto them, Why loose ye the colt? 34And they said, The Lord hath need of him. 35And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon. 36And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way.37And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;38Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.39And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples. 40And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.

Wonderful, thank you for sharing.
so why did you bring this story up again?

My question is this...How could I qoute the Word of God if I did not even know it was written in the Bible? And then I would also just open the Bible at that place to read it to them.

after reading it these verses come to mind:

Acts 16
[h=3][/h][SUP]16 [/SUP]Now it happened, as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl possessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much profit by fortune-telling. [SUP]17 [/SUP]This girl followed Paul and us, and cried out, saying, “These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation.” [SUP]18 [/SUP]And this she did for many days.

The girl was demon possessed yet she still told the truth about Paul for they indeed proclaimed to them the way to salvation. however, there is more to the story, just as there is more to Cobus story about WHY he got kicked out of the school grounds and why he still claims NOT to be Christian.

also even Satan quoted the Bible.

the boys were on a SUNDAY SCHOOL retreat. therefore they had the prayers of many people for them to even be at church or on the trip at all.

why would your church ask you to be a leader in the group if you did not read your Bible?

" there was also another older man STEPHAN, with us in the group and he was appointed as my assistant. "

why would Stephan be your "assistant" instead of you be his and did this man say anything at all in the group?

and why were you kicked off the school grounds?

Were you still engaged in your prositution rings and other sins at this time and did the boys know about it?
