Okay so I know I posted on this before but I'm still kind of stuck. Again I state that I've always believed people now can speak in tongues, prophecy, etc. However, recently it was brought to my attention that the only way to get the gifts of the Holy Spirit is by the laying of the hands of an "Apostle" which of course are long dead now. So in other words its not happening today until the whole Pentecostal movement started and people claiming they could.

I'am more inclined to accept this theory which could seem to mean what The Bible describes as the deception from Satan and the falling away etc. but, there is one book that talks about how he will pour his spirit so if that is the case then you don't need the laying of the hands.

Can someone shed some light? Do I have it all wrong?

Joel 2:28-32 "And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions. 29 Even on the male and female servants in those days I will pour out my spirit. 30 "And I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and columns of smoke. 31. The sun shall be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the great and awesome day of the LORD comes. 32 And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be those who escape, as the LORD has said, and among the survivors shall be those whom the LORD calls.

verse 30-32 seems to be speaking of the end days so I don't think this has been fulfilled. and I find it interesting how it says among the survivors shall be those whom the LORD calls. (kind of indicating we may go through tribulation, no?)
