How may I hold fast my hope, and maintain quiet confidence?

A life of restful, peaceful trust: "A life in Christ is a life of restfulness: There may be no ecstasy of feeling, but there should be an abiding, peaceful trust. Your hope is not in yourself; it is in Christ. Your weakness is united to His strength, your ignorance to His wisdom, your frailty to His enduring might. So your are not to look to yourself, not to let the mind dwell upon self, but look to Christ. Let the mind dwell upon His love, upon the beauty, the perfection, of His character. Christ in His self--denial, Christ in His humiliation...Christ in His matchless love--this is the subject for the soul's contemplation. The surrendered life: "If we surrender our lives to His service, we can never be placed in a position for which God has not made provision. Whatever may be our situation, we have a Guide to direct our way; whatever may be our perplexities, we have a sure Counselor; whatever our sorrow, bereavement, or loneliness, we have a sympathizing Friend. If in our ignorance we make missteps, Christ doe not leave us. His voice, clear and distinct, is heard saying, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life."---Christ Object Lessons, page 173
Christ our example: "Worry is blind, and cannot discern the future, but Jesus sees the ending from the beginning...

God will help those who trust Him: "God will do great things for those who trust in Him. The reason why His professed people have no greater strength is that they trust so much to their own wisdom, and do not give the Lord an opportunity to reveal His power in their behalf. He will help His believing children in every emergency if they will place their entire confidence in Him and faithfully obey Him."---Patriarchs and Prophets, page 493
