When you drop into temptation and can't help yourself, please think about how Lord saved you from death and darkness, then watch the movie, The Passion of the Christ. When you see Jesus's blood was given for you, the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed......He did everything for us, so, do you still want to "enjoy"the sinful feeling in the temptation? Don't you feel sorry for Jesus?
The title of this thread specifically mentions struggling with temptation but you interject joyful feelings of sin. Who said anything about joyful feelings of sinning? Some people are so pious it's sickening.

You know....even the spiritual giants of the bible had issues and moments of weakness...

Elijah <---go ahead and kill me and get it over with
David <---Bathsheba and Uriah
Jesus <--If it be possible let this cup pass from me
Abraham <--She is my sister
Solomon <---1000 women
Peter <--I don't know who the h--- he is
Paul <--I do the things I say I will not do
Thomas <---Unless I thrust my hand into his side
Martha <---Lord if only thou had been here
Noah <---drunk as a skunk
Peter <--we back to fishing with his partners
The Apostles <--scattered like a covey of quail when Jesus was arrested
Abraham <--Had to help God resulted in Ishmael and still an ongoing issue (Muslims)

We can go on and on with this line of thought.................that is why we all need Jesus and his grace to outbound our sin and failures......

Good post bro!

If not for Gods protection over me i would be lost. This is one thing i pray constantly. The more i pray about this the easier it becomes to avoid these things that would cause me to fall. I have tried on my own and found that, in my own words to myself, "that was stupid ya jagoff".

We cannot flee temptation on our own as we are so weak in that area. We see something "shinny" and go running towards it on to be let down as it was just "black ice" and caused us to wreck.

We must rely upon the Holy Spirit though we also have a responsability to "choose our actions". If we do not see them as wrong then why even worry about it. We must be willing to fight against these temptations. I could not avoid the temptations if i was not willing to let them go. If i hold onto them then i will never be able to avoid them, except the Holy Spirit pushing me out of the way.

My advice to any in avoiding temptations is constant prayer. The more you are focused upon God the less the temptation becomes. Temptations are satans way of drawing our focus away from God. When i start to become tempted i pray. All the sudden i have ADD. "Oh look at the...hey look a bunny!". It always amazes me how God can turn my focus when i pray.

In that moment is your focus upon the "shinny black ice" or will you focus upon God.

Wow! Thanks brother for sharing such a detailed post that is educational and inspiring. The fact that Jesus understands our struggles makes our relationship with Him all the more trustworthy.

FROM OP:

May we, as one body in Jesus Christ, earnestly pray for one another, asking God to strengthen all of us, meeting us where we need Him most, so that we may overcome trials, tribulations and temptations.

May we always encourage each other lovingly and in humility, producing not only good fruits of Victory, but champions of Truth and Grace, to the glory of God in Jesus' Name. And let us always be comforted and strengthened by the following:

Logically we cannot pray for everyone because we are not superhero like those who did in television. Praying those who did struggles into temptation is not our position to pray for. It is so sad nowadays that we come to church but we don't even know each other because of business matter. We even don't know what struggles he is committing. The church pray like this Forgive our sins. But Christian prayer is powerful and effective. They learned to have committed to the group of disciples. They share their weaknesses and accept teaching how to solve it. They help each other problems.

Laugh all you want. I share God's grace in love and gentleness to those who are scared, doubtful and weak. I defend God's grace against Pharisees with vengeance. That's the difference. Try again, bama.

But Jesus is a superhero, in fact, He's the only Superhero, so yes, we can indeed pray for everyone. I often pray that God will open up the hearts and minds of ten people somewhere on Earth who don't know Him, that they may come to know the Truth of Jesus, and rejoice in their knew salvation. I'm not praying for anyone in particular, but rather for complete random strangers. :)

What did Jesus say about how to treat one's enemies?

So, according to your view of Scripture, IF someone agrees with you, then, sure, treat them in such a way as you describe, however, should they dare to disagree with you, then, go after them with all your might, right?

This attitude can be found again and again on other Forums here on CC........you guys love your Brother when it is to your benefit, but if your Brother does not agree with your particular political ideology, they are fair game for attack, belittlement, and berating...........hypocrite much?

Laugh all you want. I share God's grace in love and gentleness to those who are scared, doubtful and weak. I defend God's grace against Pharisees with vengeance. That's the difference. Try again, bama.

We have small groups at our church and that helps people know one another's struggles and more intimate prayers.

If we don't believe the gospel of the grace of God in Christ - then we instead create a religion called Christianity and we are creating our own D.I. Y. self-righteousness/holiness and condemning and attacking those believers that believe in the grace of God for all things in our lives.
It's always this way with you..... we're either Hypergrace, OSAS (right), or we are DIY self -righteous (wrong).

And Ariel wonders why I have a problem with Hypergrace & OSAS.

Are we given supernatural power to keep from committing sin after we are saved? In fact we are not, if we had supernatural power from God to keep from sinning then all Christians would be like an angel of God. The reason that Christians sin after salvation is because we are not given supernatural power that gives us the ability to never sin. We are told that if we follow the Spirit we will not fulfill the desires of the flesh. This one is easy to understand, you cannot be going north and south at the same time, therefore if you follow the Spirit you cannot be following the flesh. If we had supernatural power over sin then we could just will that we do not sin and it would be so. In this life we can always sin even if we hate the sin because we do not have the power within ourselves from God to will ourselves free from sin and then make it so. Our only chance of not sinning is to follow the Spirit because we cannot sin and follow the Spirit at the same time. We are free from sin by following the Spirit, however we are not given the power within ourselves to not sin. This is why those who try not to sin end up sinning, and those who simply follow the Spirit end up not sinning.

When we see infractions of the CC rules - we are to report them. Eventually they will be dealt with in the mods wisdom..

http://christianchat.com/bible-discussion-forum/143507-hyper-grace-preachers-doctrine-cc.html

here is what we get when the "hyper grace" topic is brought up:

1. your not saved
2. attacks
3. false teacher
4. infraction submitted
5. request for account to be closed
6. name calling
7. "hyper grace" brought into every post when not even the topic of origin

I have given you 7 reasons why this topic is not good for CC Thread and I have yet to find one reason for it.

Admin and the moderators will no longer allow this to continue . And appropriate action will be taken if a member or guest starts a topic on "hyper grace " or Preachers who teach it. remember those who attack each other many of them call themselves christians yet we eat and devour each other. enough is enough. I am not going to dress you personally at this time... You have an opportunity to let it go or CC Admin and Moderators will take action.

God bless,

very respectfully,

CS1

At least I call it what it is..... I don't "sneak it in" under "grace", like you do.

Just remember when you cry about it to the mods you hang yourself for you're the one constantly posting it. I'll see to that.

You don't hear me cryin' about it to the mods.

It allmakes me wonder. I bnelieve I should be an obedient child of God as is taugth in the Word, but to say this to many gets the auto-come-back "you are under the law."

This comes from those who say they6 live in grace and do not need to be obedient children?

Which is worse, knowing we are being perfected, or thinking you are already perfect?

God loves us because we believe His Only Begotten Son, not because we are perfect.........He is perfecting us, not we.

I agree - He is perfecting us in our outward behavior as we rely on Christ's life in us to bear His fruit.

I'm curious - who says we are under grace and so we don't be obedient now to God? I have never seen this said by anyone before.

Great op.....A thread that brings encouragement and help and a chance to renew friendship.. but then i see the same old responces from the same old people going against peace and turning it into division.............

I think the only plausable explanation is a lost love of some sort or a feeling of not feeling loved that has manifested its self in to prideful rebellion.

Ill pray with you utah for the cause of defeating the enemie
