so Tribesman, what do you think about Saint Martin, Saint Augustine, Saint Patrick, Saint Benedict, Saint Dominic, Saint Catherine of Sienna, Saint Theresa of Avila, Saint Therese of Lisieux, Saint Gregory the Great, Saint Ignatius, Saint Rita, Saint Barbara, Saint Francis of Assisi, Saint Francis of Loyola, Saint Clement, Saint Claire ...... compared to Calvin?
Calvin any day. Besides, some of them (if not all) I'd have to pluck out of hell anyway. That's above my pay grade.

After you answer you should realize that the passage was meant for you!

What say ye about this scripture?
John18:40 NASB
"Not this Man, but Barabbas." Now Barabbas was a robber.

Simple Gospel Truth - Jesus paid a debt He did not owe - I owed a debt I could not pay. Its to sad to think about really the righteous Jesus dying for the unrighteous you and me. 1p3:18 However praise the Lord, because He lives we shall live also.

John 14:19 NASB
"After a little while the world will no longer see Me, but you will see Me; because I live, you will live also.

Wow! You don't have any idea what your saying. Saint Ignatius was the disciple of Saint John and appointed Bishop by Saint Peter himself, do you think he is in hell? Or Saint Patrick who converted the Island of Ireland, which had an enormous amount of missionaries to all over the known world after him. Saint Catherine of Sienna is the Patron Saint of all of Europe. She conversed with Jesus regularly - read her "Dialogue" and you will know it to be true. Saint Clement was one of the first Christian Martyrs in Rome and a disciple of Saint Peter. Saint Dominic might be the holiest of them all and along with Saint Francis converted most of Europe back from their wicked ways. Have you ever read about the lives of these Saints? How many miracles did Calvin perform? Saint Martin raised two from the dead. Saint Benedict - many. Which of these are in Hell? Please God for you own sake don't answer that question. Have you ever read about how the world became Christian? Do you think it went from the Apostles to Calvin and Luther.

Take a course on Christian History and pray to God to forgive you. Then you will know who that Proverb was meant for. There will be no doubt.

Right off the bat, it makes me think of Matt. 25:31-46. (parable of the sheep and the goats)

You know...forensic type justfication.
Saying those not in Christ are justified, and those who are in Christ are condemned.

But then, I can't have coffee these days. ;)

Have you ever read about how the world became Christian?
John 6.

Do you think it went from the Apostles to Calvin and Luther.
Nope, it's God's doing. All these two did, was to help bring Christianity out of the shadows of oppression. Catholicism teaches that men must save themselves, and God has very little to do with it. Works won't save you.

It is written:

[15] He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the LORD.
What say ye about this scripture?
It seem spretty straight forward to me. It is an abominable act to allow justify the actions of those who do wickedly and just as abominable to condemn the actions of those who are doing right.

It also seems to be the hallmark of the world today.

You are reciting catholic traditions handed down by a long line of extremely corrupt popes. Catholic saints and popes must be saved like every other soul. By the grace of God received through faith. God's righteousness is imputed not merited. A bitter well cannot bring forth sweet water.

Your Quote makes it obvious that you have no idea what Catholicism is. Your idea of the Shadows of oppression came up with hospitals, the university system, educated more children than any other system and more responsible for Christianity in the world than any other. Oh by the way it is Jesus' Church. And it I'm right and your wrong, you will regret your post for all eternity. jimmyd you should really spend some time researching how Christianity spread throughout the world. When you do, you will realize that the Saints that spread the Good News throughout the world are in Heaven right now. Saint Ignatius, Saint Clement, Saint Martin, Saint Augustine, Saint Francis, Saint Dominic, Saint Theresa, Saint John of the Cross, Saint John Crysostom, Saint Benedict, Saint Thomas Aquinas, I can go on an on.

The only way you can say these Saints are in Hell (like you did on the last post you followed me to) is if you no nothing about them or their lives, or how many pagans they converted.

To say that Catholicism tells men to save themselves is a complete lie. You probably tell people we worship statues and worship the dead, and worship Mary. Things that no good Catholic has ever done and has never taught. Read the Catechism of the Catholic Church if you want to know what we believe.

I think your Q is irrelevant to the thread.
If the Saints that produced many miracles are loved by God and hated by Protestants and if people that divide the Church and try to pull people away from God's Church are wicked in God's eyes. Then my comment fits perfectly.

I know all the Saints I mentioned are in Heaven, because I know about their lives and what they did to spread Christianity for Jesus. I don't know if Calvin is there. I believe he has a chance because I hear he honored the blessed Virgin Mary. If you don't honor Mary (which is not worshipping) you will never get to heaven. It' not up to me and no Catholic will ever predict whether people are in heaven. God only knows, his mercy is greater than any sin. But, Never, never, never dishonor Mary if you want to be saved by her son.

So do your condemn those Saints and honor anyone that evangelizes a Catholic away from Jesus Church? In jimmmd's eyes I would be an abomination, because I honer them. God knows. I did not mean to call anyone an abomination. My goal was to let people know that some of the most righteous, holy people that have ever walked this earth, people like jimmyd say they are in hell.

People might forget what you write on this Post, but God won't. Be careful who you insult.

Oh and you do not teach prayer to the "saints"? You do not pray before statues in the church? Show scriptural support for these things. The way the catholic church is going Mary is bigger than Jesus. You make church tradition to be of equal authority to the bible. You sir have no authority to condemn anyone. That judgment is solely the province of the Lord.

The word prayer means to ask. We ask Saints to pray for us, just like you can ask me to pray for you. We believe by God's power, they can hear us when we ask them to pray.

Roger, do you have a picture of anyone in your family in your wallet or on your wall. You must worship them. Let me tell all your neighbors that you worship your dad since his picture is on the wall. God also, commanded Solomon to make two giant statues in the 1st temple of Jerusalem and had Moses make two statues of Angels on the Ark of the Covenant. Did that mean all the people worshipped them, no. And neither do we worship statues. By the way anyone that says this is Anti-Catholic. Someone that spreads lies to make us look bad. If the Catholic Church is still Jesus Church be careful.

As for as tradition goes. The bible never says that only scripture is justified. It says all scripture (old testament by the way) is justified. IT DOES SAY TO OBEY THE TRADITIONS YOU HAVE LEARNED. Try reading MT 15:3, Mk 7-9, Col 2:8, 1 Cor 13:2, 2 Thess 2:15 and 2 Tess 3:6 let me know if you need more.

Who is condemning? The Proverb says God does. We call people Saints when we know they are in Heaven. We won't ever say who is in hell or who is condemned by God.

It just goes to show you there is a great lack of respect and maybe knowledge about Christian history with many Protestants. I'm positive that j d would not have said what he said if he knew about those Saints, the hardships they went through to convert the known world. What is the truth?

The “anyone” in this scripture are both considered liars.

God teaches his servants to use upbuilding speech in helping others and speaking truth. When one speaks the truth every day it comes easy to him. It is important in every phase of life to speak the truth. The example of world diplomats is not the example for God’s servants to follow. Jesus said: “Just let your word Yes mean Yes, your No, No; for what is in excess of these is from the wicked one.” (Matthew 5:37) That does not allow for flattery or any insincere expression of hospitality or praise. Unity is not fostered by making a promise and then doing something else. Unity does not increase when one speaks for a man in his presence and against him in his absence. It is lies that cause disunity and lead to death. Lovers of righteousness who are servants of God will leave no place in their lives for falsehood, whether in business negotiations, contracts, or family relationship. God does not teach man to lie; he hates liars.-Proverb. 17:15; 4:24; 3:29; 6:16-19; 11:1.

Proverbs 17:15
The things that God says are bad in his eyes are pronounced good by man. Likewise the things that are pronounced good by God are pronounced bad by men. Both are liars and doing are something that is detestable to God. Proverbs6:16-19

Woe to those...

This scripture also goes with the one at Isaiah5:20 which states: “Woe to those who are saying that good is bad and bad is good, those who are putting darkness for light and light for darkness, those who are putting bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!”

A grander scale

To be sure, the times we live in now fit these scriptures more than ever and on a grander scale. With greater abilities to express ourselves through internet, TV shows, radio talk shows… we can be sure that an accelerated speed for support on teaching contrary to the Bibles will continue.

Keep obeying God as Ruler

Those who choose to obey the commandments of God and try hard to live up to his standards will be pronounced bad. Reliance on God and his holy spirit for guidance and following God’s son Jesus examples will certainly help us to keep doing what is right in God’s eyes regardless of public opinions.

Exodus 23:1 Thou shalt not raise a false report: put not thine hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness.
Exodus 23:2 Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest judgment:

The bible shows that when Jesus was tried, there were wicked witnesses.

The Torah contains rules about an accused person being tried, and the bible says that at the mouth of two or three witnesses a matter is established.

Deuteronomy 17:3 And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded;
Deuteronomy 17:4 And it be told thee, and thou hast heard of it, and enquired diligently, and, behold, it be true, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought in Israel:
Deuteronomy 17:5 Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, even that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die.
Deuteronomy 17:6 At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is worthy of death be put to death; but at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death.

It was a very serious matter then, as it was during the time that Jesus was on trial, and as it is today.

I believe that Proverbs 17:15 is speaking about judging others and the damage that is caused by gossip and false accusations.

Proverbs 17:14 The beginning of strife is as when one letteth out water: therefore leave off contention, before it be meddled with.
Proverbs 17:15 He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the LORD.
Proverbs 17:16 Wherefore is there a price in the hand of a fool to get wisdom, seeing he hath no heart to it?

Matthew 7:2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
Matthew 7:3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Matthew 7:4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
Matthew 7:5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

1 Corinthians 4:5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.
