Psa 51:1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba. Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
Psa 51:2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
Psa 51:3 For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
Psa 51:4 Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.
Psa 51:5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.
Psa 51:6 Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
Psa 51:7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
Psa 51:8 Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.
Psa 51:9 Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
Psa 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
Psa 51:11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
Psa 51:12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
Psa 51:13 Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.
Psa 51:14 Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.
Psa 51:15 O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.
Psa 51:16 For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.
Psa 51:17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
Psa 51:18 Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem.
Psa 51:19 Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar.

And of course, 119.

[h=3]Psalm 16:8-9[/h]

[SUP]8 [/SUP]I have set the Lord always before me;
Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.

[SUP]9 [/SUP]Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices;
My flesh also will rest in hope.

Many and all but this one came to mind:

Psalm 23

23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
for those that know me it will be no surprise :)

This one lifted me out of a deep depression I had been in for quite a few years due to the pain and disability of Rheumatoid Arthritis. It is Holman's version (Southern Baptist) but replacing "downcast" (I do understand the meaning of this for sheep!) with the word "depression" really helped me realize that God knew my pain and my sadness. That was about 10 years ago or more, and I have been trusting Christ through my disability and he has done amazing things with my life since then!

[h=3]Psalm 42[/h]Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)
[h=3]Longing for God[/h][h=4]For the choir director. A Maskil of the sons of Korah.[/h][SUP]1 [/SUP]As a deer longs for streams of water,
so I long for You, God.
[SUP]2 [/SUP]I thirst for God, the living God.
When can I come and appear before God?
[SUP]3 [/SUP]My tears have been my food day and night,
while all day long people say to me,
“Where is your God?”
[SUP]4 [/SUP]I remember this as I pour out my heart:
how I walked with many,
leading the festive procession to the house of God,
with joyful and thankful shouts.

[SUP]5 [/SUP]Why am I so depressed?
Why this turmoil within me?
Put your hope in God, for I will still praise Him,
my Savior and my God.

[SUP]6 [/SUP]I am deeply depressed;
therefore I remember You from the land of Jordan
and the peaks of Hermon, from Mount Mizar.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]Deep calls to deep in the roar of Your waterfalls;
all Your breakers and Your billows have swept over me.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]The Lord will send His faithful love by day;
His song will be with me in the night—
a prayer to the God of my life.

[SUP]9 [/SUP]I will say to God, my rock,
“Why have You forgotten me?
Why must I go about in sorrow
because of the enemy’s oppression?”
[SUP]10 [/SUP]My adversaries taunt me,
as if crushing my bones,
while all day long they say to me,
“Where is your God?”
[SUP]11 [/SUP]Why am I so depressed?
Why this turmoil within me?
Put your hope in God, for I will still praise Him,
my Savior and my God.

I love the Psalms and have read them every day since that time. They always encourage me and bring me joy!

I go to this wonderful Psalm for a reminder to commit my ways to God before I embark on an assignment, trusting that He will enable its success.
"Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep" (Psalms 127:1-2). :)

Do you have any go to psalms for specific circumstances? If so, which ones and for which circumstances?
I like this one. It reminds us to be careful who we keep company with, among other things:

[18] If you see a thief, you are a friend of his;
and you keep company with adulterers.
[19] "You give your mouth free rein for evil,
and your tongue frames deceit.
[20] You sit and speak against your brother;
you slander your own mother's son.
[21] These things you have done and I have been silent;
you thought that I was one like yourself.
But now I rebuke you, and lay the charge before you. Psalms 50:18-21 RSV

When I think of the word of the Lord being true, simply because what he speaks happens
As even he spoke everything into existence.
(And in the beginning was the word, and the word was God and the word was with God)
Whatever we may believe, whatever we may feel, however we may agree with it, like it accept it or not
His word is true, because whatever he speaks, happens
Long story short...simply because he said it, therefore it must be so
I think people need to start accepting Gods word and deal with it
To stop trying to conform him to suit themselves, but conform themselves to suit him

4 For the word of the Lord is right and true;
he is faithful in all he does.
5 The Lord loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of his unfailing love.

6 By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
their starry host by the breath of his mouth.
7 He gathers the waters of the sea into jars[a];
he puts the deep into storehouses.
8 Let all the earth fear the Lord;
let all the people of the world revere him.
9 For he spoke, and it came to be;
he commanded, and it stood firm.

Psalms 103:1-22 NASB

Bless the Lord , O my soul, And all that is within me, bless His holy name.
Bless the Lord , O my soul, And forget none of His benefits;
Who pardons all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases;
Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion;
Who satisfies your years with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle.
The Lord performs righteous deeds And judgments for all who are oppressed.
He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the sons of Israel.
The Lord is compassionate and gracious, Slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness.
He will not always strive with us, Nor will He keep His anger forever.
He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
For as high as the heavens are above the earth, So great is His lovingkindness toward those who fear Him.
As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us.
Just as a father has compassion on his children, So the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.
For He Himself knows our frame; He is mindful that we are but dust.
As for man, his days are like grass; As a flower of the field, so he flourishes.
When the wind has passed over it, it is no more, And its place acknowledges it no longer.
But the lovingkindness of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, And His righteousness to children's children,
To those who keep His covenant And remember His precepts to do them.
The Lord has established His throne in the heavens, And His sovereignty rules over all.
Bless the Lord , you His angels, Mighty in strength, who perform His word, Obeying the voice of His word!
Bless the Lord , all you His hosts, You who serve Him, doing His will.
Bless the Lord , all you works of His, In all places of His dominion; Bless the Lord , O my soul!

Psalm 23, I love this psalm as it speaks so perfectly to Jesus's guiding us.
Psalm 91, as it is balm to one's heart against all enemys and tells of God's power.
Psalm 106, is all about praise for God's glory and power.
Then some verces like...
Let the morning bring me word of your unending love, for I have put my trust in you.( comfort on a tearful night for me.)
For God caused a gentle rain to fall on a dry land, renewing His covanant when it was weary. ( God's mercy and promise)

God bless
